Well Naruto is a mega hit comparable to One Piece and Dragon Ball in popularity. We also have examples like Berserk, Hunter x Hunter, and Vagabond which remain ongoing series despite extended hiatuses, which would be a death knell for less popular manga.

This arc was underwhelming to me because it had a strong setup for lots of teamwork and tactics, but we hardly got any of that. I also did not like that Daemon got winded after doing so little. I can only imagine that using his reversal ability on so many foes at once must use a lot of chakra.

By sheer amount of numbers i'd say Choji still beats Inojin to the punch, since he had a volume long fight with Jirobo and a decent amount of moments in part 2.
