And a big part of the appeal of /a/ is discussing anime with /a/nons lol, neither show are exactly trash either but have been fun to watch along with. I've already had that experience with 3 shows so far.
It is pretty odd for me, but I'll take planning to only watch a few shows but then picking up random shows that I wasn't expecting to be good over dropping shows I was anticipated for that ended up being disappointing or uninteresting or utterly lacking in direction in the first 3 episodes.

I was watching more than that late last season at the stage when I got fed up with the entire season sucking so hard and dropped everything, and that was after the normal seasonal process of three-episode rule failures and dropping boring things halfway. This season everything is on three-episode probation but I'm watching more than that. And that's to say nothing of last year where I didn't once suffer a cascade of disappointment and finished double your list each time.
