I don't understand why they can't just use the coloring and the artstyle used in the OP or the eyecatches.
It's way more aesthetically pleasing and they obviously have the capability to do so.
I'm not saying I hate the flatter more pastel coloring the show has or that it's even bad but the bolder more ligne claire coloring in the OP and eyecatches are plainly superior

Anon the OP has way more shading than the anime and that extra shading's going to cost a lot of extra time.
It's why you only usually see that much detail in BluRay releases where they had more time to draw it in, or high-budget productions where the anime's already finished right before it starts airing.
It's the same with cartoon shows and the movies they release for the same franchise.
