Shill your bullshit clickbait "news" site elsewhere

It's better to share manga news on the manga board
>>
>>287528737
This is ai shilling, not manga news.

Surely even the usual butthurt luddites can't get mad over efficient text placement.

Spoke too soon

(hopefully) can't do much wrong if it's just the typesetting part

This is proper use of automated tools, not even really AI but everything is "AI" now for investment bucks.

Based Square Enix.
Loddies seethe and weep.

>that could cut up to 3000 hours from manga production
What does that even mean. 3000 hours total? 3000 hours per chapter? It takes 3000 hours per chapter to put font in bubbles? There have been tools that automatically fit text in bubbles for the better part of a decade but I guess those didn't have the AI™ seal of mindless hypespeak and random figures on them.

what if typesetting font size and placement is part of your manga style ? checkmate clankers
>>
>>287528915
3000 hours per year, for all of Square-Enix's manga combined. And Square-Enix is one of the top 5 biggest manga publishers in Japan.

Of all things to get mad about...

There it is, the one post I was looking for that actually recognize the issue here.

What are you, mentally handicapped?

Fuck off

Osamu Tezuka had like 8 assistants or something to help him with stuff like this. I think you underestimate the time it takes to do all the things that aren't "drawing picture" and "make text bubble"

ikr
>>287528694
Hopefully this will make Shit-Enix enough money so they can actually make a FF title the people want.

Based on Google, a graphic designer in Japan earns between 3.3m yen (21k usd) to 5.8m yen.
Let's assume they delegate boring typesetting to expert graphic designers earning an extra 20%.
That means their hourly rates are 3500y or 23 usd/hour.

If this is true (>>287528954), they would save the impressive amount of 70 thousand USD per year for some AI gimmick that will still need manual oversight. Brilliant Square Enix. Brilliant.

AI shill is back again. Surely it will be good in 2 more weeks. This time for sure.

Tezuka was working in a time period before digitization.
Typesetting is tedious work (ime it takes about half an hour to an hour for an average sized chapter doing it by hand at good quality), but not much here is all that new.
It doesn't actually help with the stuff that is hard to do, like redrawing.
>>
This shit is done by the editors as busy work anyway, who fucking cares. AI shill are retarded as usual.
>>
>>287528694
Like size and placement is fine, but font...? That's going to be hilariously useless unless you either don't emphasize ever at all, or love the AI mistaking what the font for a bubble should be. If you start designing bubbles so that the AI always recognizes a specific kind of emphasis, then you probably aren't going to be saving any time in the end in that area.

Regardless, they're definitely rating this more highly than it'll actually be like everything AI related. Gotta please the shareholders.

The question is why is a video game company releasing this and not Shueisha or other magazine companies

>>287528954
3,000 hours is one week of work for 75 employees lmao what a waste
>>
>>287532145

Because they have Gangan Comics, which allows them to have a say on the manga industry.
>>
>>287532145
Is Shueisha the only publisher you actually know?
>>

Video games and tech scams go hand in hand.
