so anyways down about 1k today, which is not that bad, and under the surface it's really good, i was kind of over a barrel with those trades and now i feel safe, i owe the bank over 20k still which is a lot for me but i just need one or two of my trades to go well to exit accretively, and can always just sell other stuff if i get in a real jam. don't see penelope today -_-' i miss you babe, i love you. gonna go shopping and also grab some lunch.

Afternoon lads, good day on the market, even if it's in the eye of the storm, as far as some oil bros on fintwit think, but that's another thing I might post about if it doesn't look like it'll resolve itself.
Made mistakes today, not gonna lie, but that's parta the process, you will screw up and lose money, it's under yo control to limit how much money you lose, and I stayed well within those limits, ez to make it back with a few doubles and singles, or maybe wait for a big juicy pitch and get a home run
The point is that I lose less so that tomorrow or the day after I have to get outta the hole but it's not a multi day campaign, heck it's more likely to be a slightly profitable day.
It's the inevitable outcome of trading, unless you have a 100% win rate, you have to take losses, but you control those losses and walk away when you hit yo limit, tomorrow will be better, and if not limit yo losses more, stay on sim until ya see a big fat softball pitch.
It's that ez

had a big a nap, making food again. doing a lot of thinking about what's going to happen. extremely bullish, but also extremely paranoid because it's like, are they just going to reinflate all these blown up assets and in the process i get rich? i hope so. check out the btx chart to see what i mean, this is a closed-end fund not a stock.
worried though about the taiwan truck hitting things, i look at the EL and NKE charts vs the INTC chart and it's like hmmmmm.... obviously it's something i've thought about and prepared for but it's not like i would even profit from it, china is a huge market for intel and i am very exposed to chips and tech otherwise. googl is a better hedge probly but i just want massive semi foundry exposure without taiwan risk or leverage so ya. don't think intc moons on an invasion but there are some who think it would. i'm preoccupied with there being more "speed bumps" but this would be more than that, if taiwan were blockaded even it would probably be the worst market day ever, which is why i am so relieved to delever today even though i was only 11% leveraged nominally, 20% synthetically, now i'm down to 6%. but yeah it's either the golden bull run or the precipice of the nightmare, and i hope it's the former.

nothing wrong with money market funds, and dunno where you got they weren't meant for long term, there's tons of cash in them. one thing to understand though is that it's not savings, it's a fund filled with short-term bonds. very rarely they trade at less than par-value though, which might be where you got the idea, but that's not a reason to avoid them.

took 2nd nap. feeling good and will be lifting in a few hours. kind of a lazy day with a lot of sleeping. made my mom cry accidentally today, i told her i'm going to buy a camaro and she couldn't take it, she worries too much. i'll keep informing her of this fact until she stops crying though and then i'll get it. saw someone on /biz/ say they blow up their account if we open green tomorrow, so anticipating that inevitability. market has turned really positive and i'm so excited about it, got heavy bags of snap wkey and btbt and i think they're gonna reflate.

site is eating my comments. about to go to the gym. got ignored by penelope again today and it is frustrating, but i think she's calmed down a bit about other things she was mad at so maybe i'll get some warmth tomorrow. i do hope so. tonight is hopefully the last night i ever bench anything with a 1 handle, will warm up with 195 tonight, do 205 for the rest, and if all goes well i'll raise my warmup set weight to 200 next time.

mom is finishing up a show. it does look like the runway is clear for a fun rally, the stocks that have been going straight down for the last 5 years, the stuff they dubbed sh**co's years ago, most shorted, the goldman sachs speculative retail basket. gamestop stuff. maybe i'm wrong but that's what it looks like. only caveat is the last time they did this they did several massive rugpulls in succession, it was a ploy to destroy wealth rather than distribute it. not saying they do that again, it may finally be time for the roaring 20's, but if they whip everyone into a market frenzy again and then rugpull everyone, it would be great for military recruitment, and that thought is nagging me, so don't get too leveraged trying to get rich now, it could blow up badly.
>>
>>24219623
For once I agree with ya. This rally is the only time a market has recovered from a 10% dip in less than 11 days since 1928.
Also the shoe company going parabolic after adding ai to its focus.
Dotcom and roaring 20's, and an unresolved war with suicidal Muslims. We gonna have fun.
Got my hedge in fo the next 2 weeks, should have a clearer picture of what my next hedge will be by the time it expires. Most likely defense tickers.
With all these shitcos popping off, I will check up on some of the shitcos I researched last year.
First one that comes to mind is XXII, bros got outta debt and now are looking for a new product to sell last I checked, but they are known diluters so might be a cash grab fo management instead of a rally fo investors. But if ya understand that you will only get one day of rally, get in get out quick, shihs fun to do. I remember plopping down some shares on a shitco one morning at work, finished a few orders wabam I got 50% gain, sold out and was happy with what I got, a solid yearly return in 10 minutes, couldn't ask for more. Fomo is the greatest killer of retail profits on wall st.

got a contrarian take on allbirds. think the market is saying that if you have 40 million dollars and a listing on the nasdaq to raise capital then there is appetite to back you for a gpu warehouse, nothing more than that. the management is already trusted in that they've brought a company public before, even though it failed, the street knows who they are.

anyhow did not meet my goals tonight, 7 reps 195, 2 sets of 205 with 5 reps, but only managed 4 in the last, and i did squat 150 1 set but had to go to 145 for the other two. minor disappointment but it was still a good night.

depraved look from justin... before i got expelled i got voted "worst case of senioritis" in my high school and took an embarassing photo for my yearbook where i made an evil face like that. i was trying to be funny but i realize now it has destroyed any potential political career. along with a few other things but that one won't wash.

setting a limit sell at 85 and going to bed. not my day for trading but it's a big up day besides. still a lot of trade to go though.

If ya weren't spooked by the last 13 days having 12 green days, nows the day to start being spooked. I was unnecessarily contrarian fo the last week, shoulda just shrugged it off and put all my spooked feelings on hold until today. But ya lose only if ya don't learn anything from yo mistakes, and I learned so net profit.
My next mistake tho might be that my vix calls might be dated too soon, this stupid euphoria might resolve into a traditional rally after a few short high vix episodes, but at least my gains from the rally will cover the loss if the calls expire worthless, and honestly this is only my third time doing a hedge, so this will be valuable data fo next time storm clouds brew on the horizon.
Even if ya lose money, a if ya learn as much as possible outta it, next time yo odds will improve greatly. I always remind myself that even with a few years experience I'm still only higher up minor leagues, while most everyone on the other side of me trades has been major league for years, but if I simplify the game, I can pull them down to my level, where I can hop on their backs and soar with the eagles
In summary don't overcomplicate, big dawgs gotcha beat in that arena
Simplify the game and you even the playing field, use the big dawg's moves for your profit. Just takes effort and persistence

something i've been thinking about, i don't really know how to spend money to be happy. besides buying a bag of weed. i've been making it more out of necessity than anything, i'm not that rich and i don't work or plan to, won't get social security, have to provide for myself for a lifetime after my mom goes, may that day be far away but point is i was not just trying to make some fun money, this has always been very important money to me. but i'm passing the threshold i think of survival, i've got enough that i'll be able to live comfortably without working now. it's still at risk but i'm not exactly counting unhatched chickens. anyways rambling but i'm thinking about my new problem, how to turn my money into happiness, or use it to find a wife, which is what i really want. making money isn't enough, need to have plans for it and i have to admit i never did.

i'm not making any moves, i just have a gut feeling that it's going to flirt with the bmsb and get rejected.
i'll just ride it down...im consciously letting the tax tail wag the investment dog like a non-pecuniary investor.
i got a ranger at my house so that's why i wasn't able to respond to you last thread. im glad you are making a killing. i'd be tempted to pick up some puts at these levels if i was 50% exposed to intc. or rake some profits and sell into strength.
besides tax aversion i struggle to sell bito calls at strikes below the tabulated cost basis even though i'm up on the principle. cost basis got jacked up by divvy reinvestment at the higher levels. i figure i'll just let the capital loss stay on paper until i'm ready to use it.

i originally bought on the day of the bottom of the '22 bear market, i had sold all my assets except for mram 2 days earlier and went 80% intc, after losing what felt like a lot of money in 2022. i sold 1/4 in the run up but held from 50 to 18. i don't think i will have to do that again, but i'm prepared to do it again.

nice. just checked the option chain and you could buy eoy $45 puts to cover your 3k shares for less than 10k. or less than $3k to lock in your breakeven through eoy. i'm kicking myself for not buying puts last October.

well off highs, barely profitable on igv, ignored by penelope. -_-' i was teasing her today but even so. i do wish she'd warm up to me again. gonna nap, might wake up before close and sell, might not, kind of want to hold another day, disappointed about what's happening but it's strait opening day and they are moving stocks sensitive to oil, like i told penelope. anyways hope i stay green but intc is fading after touching $70, igv at the lows, might go red today.

Happy Friday lads
Market stays irrational and so do I. Only way to stay sane is to sim trade, good practice for dealing with an irrational market, if it ever happens again when we all get better over the years.
It's weird to be in a market where all my twitter bros who've been at it for decades are raising alarms, or at the least are skeptical. The one guy I follow who has been mainly a technical analyst his entire career is saying to stay away entirely, we at triple tops on most indeces, double tops on others.
For me, if I were to look at the daily I'd say it's a multi stage stop hunt before resuming a bit more downtrend, emphasis on multi stage, don't know how long this can go up before gravity kicks in the door of the party. So I guess take some obvious moves, hedge yoself for a few weeks.
But its Friday so might get some chicken fried
