try not to beat yourself up, that'll just make things worse normally

it's not normal for people to be depressed/anhedonic, so think about your life & all the little things which make it harder than it should be, then try to shave those off systematically
your environment can make or break you, it basically determines how much spare energy you have
it's worth fixing your environment for awhile before trying to force yourself into doing things day after day, it can make things easier

do you exercise? have you in the past?

yeah

it can also help, if you're trying to learn/practice a skill, to treat it like blue collar work
don't overthink or worry about details, especially early on, just try to get 1-2 solid hours of SOMETHING done per day

the receptors in your brain which get stimulated by building a minecraft base are intended to reward you for the feedback you get from practicing something and becoming better at it
it's hard to describe without a specific example, "getting better at something" doesn't really encapsulate it, but if you practice scales on guitar for a few hours & end up much faster than when you started, you'll understand the feeling i mean

so a lot of the time the hardest part is starting
once you get a snowball rolling it's easier to keep going than to give up :D
