You will never be a real Chinaman. You have no yellow skin, you have no epicanthic folds, you have no genetic ability to use chopsticks. You are a white man twisted by makeup and surgery into a crude approximation of nature's perfection.
All the validation you get is two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back Chinamen mock you. Your parents are glad you left, your friends laugh at your fumbling attempts to maintain face.
Eventually it’ll be too much to bear - you’ll buy a rope, tie a noose, put it around your neck, and plunge into the cold abyss. Your parents will bury you with a headstone marked with your white name, and every passerby for the rest of eternity will know a white man is buried there. Your body will decay and go back to the dust, and all that will remain of your legacy is a skeleton that is unmistakably caucasian.
This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no turning back.

In all seriousness, though, I do know someone who did it -- not to get into a "rich" family but because he wanted Taiwanese citizenship, and being adopted into a Taiwanese family is pretty much the only way to get it (the government there gives out honorary citizenships to people who have made lifelong contributions to Taiwanese society, so, basically old foreigners who are about to drop dead anyway).
Anyway, it's pretty much no longer a thing to get adopted to continue the family name, now that genetics is a thing.

tried it. married the daughter. Grand father has a real estate empire in Hong kong. her family inherited 10 million from them, but we'll never see a dime. they took the money and put it in some trust where no one can use it except for college tuition. we're doing just fine financially ourselves, so i don't even give a fuck. it's a big source of family drama and i don't even think any of them know what to do with 10 million much less a hundred million. the idea of starting a passion business never even occurred to them, they're like insects who just want to squirrel away the most resources in the safest possible Jewish bank defended by Jewish lawyers. The family members who control access to the money don't even live will, they shop at Walmart, eat low quality food, etc. They literally don't know what to do with money.
