You're completely wrong about this. I've been in the cosplay scene for almost 25 years and there have always been plenty of attractive girls. I dated multiple 8+ girls in the days before Facebook pages, Patreon, Onlyfans, etc. even existed, and those girls made their own costumes.

The store bought stuff prevents a lot of people from ever making their own costumes because they can either start with a really shitty costume and learn or have something kind of okay and never learn. The temporary high embarrassment from having a shit first-time cosplay is now optional and most people would rather have a low lifetime embarrassment of wearing chink premades.
