I think a major thing is that a lot of younger fans seem to treat it as an opportunistic FOTM that they'll get bored of when it no longer yields likes or attention and move onto the next shiny thing. They make endless slop tweets about "omg guys im so obsessed with this ship uwu" while contributing nothing to the fandom besides consuming/criticizing other people's art and then feel entitled to harass or bully artists if they draw something they find morally wrong (which is fucking anything nowadays with how puritan zoomies/alpha are) before jumping ship to another big fandom after a month. There's no care taken to preserving the livelihood of a fandom because these ADHD riddled brainlets will just find something else after they've shoo'd off every content creator that dares to make anything transgressive.

Bowiechan is a wonderful artist. She has made tons of MM/RS content. I'll be quite devastated if she leaves altogether because of these whiny cunts who can't separate fiction from reality. God forbid making the serial killers anything but wholesome uwu babies all the time. Why the fuck are there so many minors in the Hazbin fandom in the first place?

Every established RS shipper who commented on it basically said that it's a dark ship with a dynamic that is sometimes uncomfortable, so if you don't like that then maybe it's the wrong ship for you. It's definitely new fans who probably had their eyes shut during episode 4 and only want slop who are complaining. This is still insane to me, they're a major focus in season 2 yet the merch is just the same old shit we got from season one. None of it reflects anything that happened in the actual show. Borle and Amir capitalizing off RS shippers is smart on their part, Spindlehorse has no idea the market they're missing out on.
