No. Environmentalism started as a fairly good idea for humanity's best interest, but for the last several decades it's basically just been a tool used by governments to manipulate the poor and explain how they need to sacrifice their quality of life for the sake of the 'greater good' while the rich fly around in their private jets.

Why does he keep having these lameass tyrant villains able to just instantly achieve things with no actual organic development on their part to make it happen, and then everyone instantly bending the knee instead of opposing them?
Is it just shit writing due to a lack of care to put effort into the comic or is it shit writing due to being ones of those loser creatives "subverting expectations".
>I could use all of you together
Very first action was to randomly sperg out and try to murder all superheroes with a sneak attack (and succeeding in alot of cases) and they couldn't even put up any significant resistance against the army of murderbots because Kirkman doesn't let superheroes show any credibility

Honestly the answer is just Kirkman is a shit writer in the end, plus he cared more about the walking dead which was also a dragged-out mess of a story.

Nah, Kirkman is just the kind of spiteful fag that would mock others characters for something he himself does.
Him and Ottley really that petty side of them shine through when talking about fictional characters.

His power is being immortal, why is yet another flying brick in the series?
Nothing about the character makes sense, if anything shouldn't he have supernatural powers he's picked up from his nature over that lifespan?
Why give him generic flying brick powers but make him so much weaker than any viltrumite characters, is Kirkman as a southener still butthurt about losing the Civil War so he randomly decided to include an immortal Abe Lincoln in his comic to endlessly torture?

In 100 years people will have made up new problems to justify this retardation, just like they did in the industrial revolution or when the digital era started
>providing cheap energy is something the ruling class does not want for everyone
You are retarded. Oil companies lobby for oil because they sell oil, not because they "don't want cheap energy"
Want to solve the issue? Destroy regulations that stop investors from building solar, wind and nuclear all over the place. But you won't, you will support more regulations instead (because you are convinced there is a magical elite that dislikes cheap energy), making the problem worse and more entrenched
>>
>>153256054

Even with the oddities of the larger image universe crossover trimmed away, interplanetary travel exists in the Skybound or whatever universe and Dinosaurus isn't unaware of it considering his reaction to the Vilrtumites later.
At that point there's no reason to prioritize what amounts to a bloated arts and crafts project in some dusthole when means of significant strides in civilization are around.

>>153256007
>muh capitalists
Not a consequence of capitalism. Corruption is to be expected and power will be abused by the powerful, but we lost the ability to protect against it through purely political means. Your country was doing fine before the political class realized they could do whatever they wanted as long as they pitted voting blocks against each other, bribing them with handouts and preferential treatment, locking them into being self-serving, single issue voters. Universal suffrage was a terrible idea and everyone's been propagandized into thinking it's fundamental to the American identity because that's the only way a congressman can deliver literally 0% of the time and still get elected over and over.
Anyway, man-made climate change is mostly fake and gay. If you want to save the world from smokestacks and plastic bags, you should go be an eco terrorist in China or India. Even if I'm completely wrong about climate change, that'd be the only way to make even the smallest dent.

In principle? Yeah. is not even about the planet, is about long term survival.
You are literally going trough an slow motion apocalypse right now, and I'm talking more about the problems over population and the amount of resources the planet has to offer. We will run out eventually and the response people in power have is "some solution will come up eventually, so we don't have to worry lol."
And that's only one of the issues, AI, bacteria resistant antibiotics, the over decadency of culture and freedoms and of course, climate change and it's consequences. Is very much the question of do you want to a lot of people to die now and give humanity an chance of survival or wait until everyone is dead later?
Nigersaurus is the type of person that chooses the later, but since he is alone and can only achieve his goals trough extreme means he often over corrects that leads to more issues (in the short run). But just because someone doing something did it wrong, that doens't mean the idea is wrong itself. I honestly believe in all the crap tumblrinas spill, about trans rights, equality between races, gender equality and crap like that, I like those ideals, but I'm also aware the people defending and the people promoting them are all retards that make the issue worse and by mostly feeding their own ego, making their entire ideology hard to defend to anyone sane.

Climate change is just the natural life cycle of the planet. However pollution accelerated the rate in which climate change happen. The Forever Chemicals in our water and food supply however is also completely preventable but greedy corporations just relocate to another state/country with less regulations so that can continue polluting the Earth for profit. Take DuPont for example, they are one of the main violators that contribute to the distribution of Forever Chemicals in our water and food supply.

His plans always conveniently involve genocide. Even when they go off well, he has many mire “purge the cattle” scenarios rolling in his head than anything less genocidal or psychotic. And thats why he kills himself in the end, cause he realizes that even as a supposed genius trying to save humanity, he’d only end up killing off every human to the last man if his brain told him it was a good idea, and even then it wouldn’t be enough and he’d probably start literally roaming the earth killing off every single primate and mammal next to prevent any other form of sentient evolving or something else crazy like that.
So no. He wasn’t right. And even he knew that.

>but also, let's do capitalism, which is specifically the opposite of a meritocracy and specifically rewards greed and corruption,
It's opposite. In capitalism you either do a profitable thing or you fucking reach the bottom or somebody else buys your entire company. Classic survival of the fittest
It is socialism and government that can be unprofitable because it always takes money from the people at a gunpoint
>>
>>
>>153266510
Aw anon. You poor naive retard.
Companies murder profitable small businesses all of the time and the us government is both unprofitable, steal taxes to give to the wealthy and did in fact steal the gold of the entire American population at gunpoint.
They're still stealing frim Americans at gun point you ridiculous cunt.
Capitalism nor socialism work on any level. But its what were stuck with till we go back to post scarcity or a class war breaks out.
>>
>>153266592
Nobody can buy your company if you don't sell it
Even if you become a public company you control the amount of stocks you sell
People make the gambit of selling over 50% for cash.
But the point is that the government lacks the incentive to be profitable. Back in the old days gold was heavy, so the king had to build a castle, strengthen army, ensure order etc. Because if shit went down he wouldn't be able to escape with all his gold.
Now there is digital money and you can set up a landing space in some banana republic. Politicians don't have to be responsible because they can fuck out and live in leisure forever. See Putin when Wagner guy went after him.
A system whwre somebody has incentive to not fuck things up is direct democracy. There, common people, most of whom cannot just drop everything and flee overseas, would have to think how to not fuck things up. Even if most of them are morons that's still better than intelligent people who don't have to give a fuck

It's not false, it's just that even if you have an increase in the total thermal energy of the world there are multiple effects which are currently heating certain areas which may be disrupted (gulf stream, polar vortex etc) and so they renamed it to climate change so people don't go "WELL IF GLOBAL WARMING IS REAL WHY IS IT COLDER HERE NOW THAN IT WAS YESTERDAY?"
>>

Can you show us actually proof of this global warming?
Just any proof.
Sorry show us the climate change that can be directly linked to us useless eaters using up all of the precious resources that the wealthy few need for their industries.

> guns kill people, so we should take everyone's right to self defense away and ban guns
Actually this one should be applied.
Remove guns from the country and you would remove most of the street violence.
If no citizen is allowed to use a gun, even the ghetto niggers won’t be allowed to use it.
This means both the hillbillies rednecks and the ghetto thugs won’t cause any problem, police and ICE wouldn’t be allowed to enforce unnecessary violence like the bunch of niggers they are supposed to fight against.
The only one that would suffer for this would be weapon lobbies, but for all i care they can go fuck themselves
T. Someone who lives in a country where firearms are banned since ever

Okay. Link me to a credible source where it cant be explained away as natural.
Google lityerally hides all sites talking about it rationally and pursuing a huge GLOBAL WARMING IS REEAL YALL" disclaimer while searching.

If Dinosaurus is so concerned about the environment, why didn't he just go and use his dinosaur powers to kill all the billionaires? Y'know, one of the primary root causes of... well kind of everything wrong with civilization. Moron.
>>
>>
Short answer? No.
Long answer:Also no. Nope. Very not right. Dinosaurus wrong. Robot wrong. Kirkman a retard. PS: The Walking Dead was overrated too, and '68 was way better as a zombie comic, both for why nobody knowing how to kill zombies, as well as how there were enough unburied corpses to overrun the military.

You'd have to be a literal retard at this rate to look graphs of global temperature, extinction rate, and atmospheric co2 and go "huh, Earth must just be naturally doing this for some odd reason." All your cope arguments are haven't worked for 30 years, so unless you're an actual child parroting some boomer, I have to assume you're a troll.
>>153266579
Yes, in the regions where plant life survives the increasingly arid, soil-depleted conditions, the plants will enjoy the additional co2. If this increase was happening slowly like the warming from previous ice ages so species could adapt on a evolutionary scale, we'd be all good. You're saying "70 mph gets you there faster than 35 mph, actually" while the rate of acceleration hits the Earth like a brick wall and all the children get run over

Let's be honest, the worldbuilding of Invincible is not great even at it's best moments. So the idea that someone like Robot just takes over and has no pushback from the governments of the world and a token resistance from the surviving superhero purge is all because Kirkman just wanted to have the results without putting in the work to justify it. Not that I think it's a good development for the story anyways since the weakest part of Invincible's 2nd half is the revolving door of characters that think saving the world requires genocide and mass murder and the true solution is just to outlive all your current problems because you happen to be a Viltrumite with a wife that just rejuvenates herself every 70ish years so you never have to truly lose anyone close to you.

The viltrumites are such a mary sue race whose biology in the end just acts as a plot device to the MC to get everything handed to him in the end, mostly because they can punch harder than anyone else.
Like you say even his girlfriend who never does a thing with her godlike superpowers as a hero is just there for those powers to provide him a hot immortal piece of ass on his arm (and of course being an incredibly cheap source of shallow relationship drama to the plot while the comic was running, just the worst couple ever)

He did that because Nolan died, and he knew Mark's emotional ass would weaponize the Viltrumites to attack. He was right.
Robot had world peace and the public was happy. Mark ruined that and it led to the planet being ruined in the future.

Robot didn't do shit regarding the viltrumites. They jobbed to their own severe touch starvation. Motherfuckers became tamed, cuddly kitties this instant they experienced basic affection.

>"What will you have after 500 years?"
I got into the series because a friend showed me S1 and I honestly thought this question from Nolan was going to lead to some interesting story about sacrifice. I'm no stranger to stories with long-lived or immortal characters having to take on great personal sacrifice to improve things around them if it means retaining their humanity and empathy. But after reading the comic the answer is everyone else has to truly deal those consequences because God Emperor Mark is just going to be the galactic leader alongside his daughter and immortal wife. And all he does is just continue to try and be a good leader so it's less that he brought about some era of peace and more that the war with Viltrum was over so there was nowhere for the galaxy to go but up and Mark got to ride that wave into legendary status.
Who cares if a race he met died centuries later and they only got a signal later on. Mark feels sad but he'll continue helping other people. He left his son on Earth for hundreds of years and that kid actually suffered the burden of long life among comparable mortals and he finally snapped on his father? Mark just tells him they have all the time in the world to work out their problems. The last page felt like a personal slap in the face. Yeah, Mark told Nolan that at least he'd have his father, and by extension family. But this was not the direction I thought things would go nor do I think it's satisfying to the narrative. Because Kirkman can't write people trying to save the world, he can only write people trying to satisfy their egos.
