>DC has revealed Clayface: Celebrity Dirt, a six-issue Batman universe miniseries that leans into noir horror as it follows Basil Karlo on a twisted comeback story.

>The setup is simple: Karlo escapes Arkham Towers, ready to reclaim his place in the spotlight, only to find someone else has already taken it. This mysterious double has his face, his name, and the fame he has been chasing for years.

>Writer Jude Ellison S. Doyle teams with artist Fran Galán, colorist Patricio Delpeche, and letterer Tom Napolitano to tell a story that blends body horror with Hollywood obsession. Galán’s art leans into the unsettling nature of Clayface’s powers, while Doyle focuses on the character’s fractured sense of self.

>The series digs into the contrast at the heart of Clayface. Karlo still craves the fame he once had, but he cannot escape what he has become. That tension plays out visually and thematically, shifting between glossy celebrity and something far more grotesque.

>As the story unfolds, Karlo’s return is complicated by a strange outbreak that is turning people into clay-like versions of himself. At the same time, his double is thriving in the spotlight, forcing Karlo to confront what he lost and whether he ever truly had it.

>Doyle has described the character as someone who can become anyone, yet cannot face himself, and that idea sits at the core of the series. The creative team uses that conflict to explore identity, fame, and the cost of trying to control how others see you.

>Clayface: Celebrity Dirt #1 features a main cover by Galán, with variants by Mike Del Mundo and Dave Johnson. The debut issue arrives July 8, 2026.

>Doctor Doom has a huge year ahead of him, with Doomquest, and a return in Captain America, plus he’s getting new one-shots starting in July titled Challenges of Doom! Kicking things off is Al Ewing and Mike Henderson with Doom taking on Mr. Fantastic!

>That’s just the start of a series of five one-shots from Al Ewing and a lineup of artists. Each issue focuses on a major clash between Doom and one of his greatest rivals, digging into the moments that helped shape him into one of Marvel’s most formidable villains.

>The series continues through the year, with issues centered on Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Magneto, and Namor. Each story zeroes in on a defining confrontation, exploring Doom’s ambition, intelligence, and drive for control through high-stakes encounters.

>The first issue, featuring art by Mike Henderson, looks back at the early rivalry between Victor Von Doom and Reed Richards. It highlights the battle of intellect that set the stage for their long-standing feud and the events that pushed Doom toward becoming the figure he is known as today.

>“CHALLENGES OF DOOM will pit the Lord of Latveria against some of the prime movers of the Marvel Universe as a way of illuminating different facets of Doom’s power, personality, intellect and skill,” Executive Editor Tom Brevoort explains. “Through them, you’ll get a full picture of just why Doom is the greatest of all Marvel’s villains.”

>DC Studios and DC Comics have revealed preview pages of From Comic to Screen: The Art of Supergirl, a new hardcover that takes a closer look at Kara Zor-El’s journey from comics to film. The book comes during DC Comics’ Summer of Supergirl celebration, more on that here.

>Arriving in 2026, the book tracks the character’s evolution from Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow to her upcoming big screen debut in DC Studios’ Supergirl, set to hit theaters on June 26, 2026. The 224-page collection focuses on how the character has been reimagined across media, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process that brought her from page to screen.

>Written by James Field, the book gathers concept art, production design, annotated script pages, and previously unseen material. It highlights work from the Woman of Tomorrow team, including Tom King, Bilquis Evely, and Matheus Lopes, while also connecting their approach to the film’s visual direction.

>The collection also features new interviews with both the comic creators and the filmmakers, giving insight into how ideas were translated and adapted between formats. Evely’s artwork appears alongside early film concepts, showing how key themes and visuals evolved along the way.

>An introduction from DC Studios and an afterword by Jim Lee round out the book, framing it as both a look back at the character’s history and a snapshot of where she is headed next.

>In 2026, Supergirl emerges at the center of a rare creative convergence. From Comic to Screen: The Art of Supergirl presents a curated exploration of Kara Zor‑El’s evolution across sequential art and film, tracing the character’s visual and narrative lineage from the acclaimed Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic to her cinematic reinvention in DC Studios’ upcoming feature Supergirl, in theaters worldwide on June 26, 2026. This hardcover volume invites readers into the artistic process behind both works, offering an in-depth look at how a contemporary vision of a DC icon is shaped, refined, and brought to life on the page and ultimately the big screen.

>Authored by James Field, this 224-page collection brings together concept art, production design, annotated script pages, and never-before-seen materials that illuminate the dialogue between comic and film. Featuring visuals from the creative team behind Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow—writer Tom King, artist Bilquis Evely, and colorist Matheus Lopes—the volume places their work in conversation with the film’s bracing and otherworldly visual language. Evely’s expressive illustrations appear alongside early cinematic explorations, revealing how themes, motifs, and character moments traveled from layout to finished page, and from storyboard to set. New interviews with the comic’s creators and the filmmakers behind the much-anticipated summer epic provide insight into the collaborative process that guided Kara’s transformation across mediums.

>With an introduction by DC Studios and an afterword by DC Comics’ Jim Lee, From Comic to Screen: The Art of Supergirl stands as both a celebration of the character’s legacy and a document of her rebirth. It is a testament to the continuing relevance and resonance of this DC trailblazer—and to the artists, writers, and filmmakers shaping her place in the DC Universe.

Is Basil Karlo the one that’s usually portrayed as a total bastard?
>>
>>153258346
Yes, Karlo used to be a complete piece of shit until the New 52 where they basically turned him into DCAU Matt Hagen (who was a combination of comics Hagen's name, Karlo's actor backgroud and the sympathetic pathos of Preston Payne) right down to using the DCAU design.

This is just necessary evergreen trade slop for synergy BUT it could still be a decent standalone thing. Ewing is good with these kind of stand alone things and thank Christ there's no Tony Stark
