invincible doesn't really feel like your standard evil superman story it feels like a comic that's mixing together different surface level tropes to create drama and omni-man is just part of that. There's literally no reason for the viltrums to be so cartoonishly evil but they are for the sake of the plot.

That's pretty much all TV now. Either successful shows are extended when there were no plans for it (squid game etc) and the writing goes, or shows get popular enough to be noticed by the usual suspects who turn in into pc virtue signaling (reacher etc).
