I created the Galatea Multipurpose Companion Maid Robot. It is designed to be an IRL robo-maid girl. Local AI means you can talk with her, and she has actual practical uses. She's also very customizable, you can choose the color, dress, head, hair, and even which AI you use.
I intentionally designed her to be easy to build with the instructions.
I intend this to be the Model T of humanoid robots and robotic companions, while it is not the most complex, it is easy to mass produce and cheap. She's basically an open-source humanoid robot platform that's affordable for most hobbyists, with near-infinite possibilities and uses.

i'm waiting for my aluminium extrusions and robot lawnmower to come in the mail so i can build my 'king nigger 10000' (top secret codename: tenkay). i have equipped him with a cigarette rolling machine and a bottle opener, and a voice activated speaker which repeats my curated selection of dave chapelle quotes

scared? no one is "scared". that thing is an ugly abomination. it looks like cheap shit, has creepy weird eyes, is on a FUCKING RHOOMBA which would make it top heavy and unstable. the manipulators are all but useless. it would be pointless to own one it won't help you do anything and would be a pain in the ass to program. it's a pointless ugly pile of useless shit.
>>
>>2984722
>looks like cheap shit
Entirely subjective
>has creepy weird eyes
Partially subjective, I have included other head designs in the file, you can see them in the original post
>top heavy and unstable
I made sure to print it light, and have a counterweight on the roomba
>the manipulators are all but useless
Plain wrong. The claw manipulator was designed for the accessories, and the hand is designed to make her feel more human. It was actually user feedback that made me include the hand. If you want, you can have two claws.
>it would be pointless to own one it won't help you do anything
She helps me all the time
>>
>>2984727
no it really looks like cheap shit. you just have a bias because you made it. it looks like trash.
it helps you? do what? are you completely bed bound? ok send it out to my shed to get a hammer (the one my dad made). it's got to get out of the house over a 2 inch step, then somehow open the door to my shed, get up the 8 inch step and then be able to identify the correct hammer and all in less than 5 minutes. if it can't do that it is completely useless.
have it make dinner. pizza I think. oh wait we are out of pepperoni it will need to go to the grocery store.
I know have it go down stairs... oh right.
maybe it can... no.
yeah sorry buddy it's not useful.
>>
>>2984729
>no it really looks like cheap shit. you just have a bias because you made it. it looks like trash.
Do you have proof or reasoning behind that? Or is it just your opinion? If it's just your opinion, you're entitled to it, and I respect people having opinions, but it's just that, an opinion.
And I don't see why a machine having limitations makes it completely useless? Is a Honda Civic worthless because it's not as fast as a Ferrari? Is a Raspberry Pi worthless because it doesn't have the capabilities of a beefy PC?
"If you judge by the ability to climb a tree..."
>>
>>
>>2984729
>ok send it out to my shed to get a hammer
It wouldn't even be able to carry that hammer, it's a fucking roomba
>>2984736
>Do you have proof or reasoning behind that?
Bro it's literally a pvc coathanger mounted on top of a vacuum cleaner. It looks like something a hobo would make. I've seen more valuable actual thrown out trash. And it does look cheap. It is cheap. It's cheap materials mounted on top of a cheap house applience with cheap home assist gadgets strapped on.
>>
>>2984796
>pvc coathanger
That's just plain wrong.
>It is cheap. It's cheap materials mounted on top of a cheap house applience with cheap home assist gadgets strapped on.
Wow, plastics and home electronics are cheap in the early 21st century?!
Would you prefer if she was made of solid gold?
It's almost like I want people to be able to afford building her.
At this point, you're obviously just trying to troll

Only a white lacy one that brides wear can do it any justice. The one that is a little transparent and made with very thing threads.
Enticing enough, I am sold. Cranking out my 3d printer now and printing this entire thing. Heck JLCPCB can get me one printed in steel. costs a few thousand bucks but at least i got myself a maid for the next 40years I am going to live.

This is so awesome! Ignore the trolls who are thinking of perverse things and saying the appearance is not quality, useless, etc.
You responded well and with reason. I admire your humility here.
And building a robot like this... and the fact that you actually use it yourself! I dare say, that is rather impressive.
Friend, you are brilliant. Cherish your talents and take care.
God bless.

Ever since I was a little kid, I was always interested in robots, and I've always wanted to make a servant robot. A few years ago, I had the idea of putting a 3D printed structure on a roomba. A little later, I realized I could make the structure humanoid, and from there I was inspired to make a "robowaifu". So, in a way, Galatea v3 is the blend of childhood dreams and adulthood politics/desire.
One of the main goals of the design is to basically cure loneliness, but that's far from the only purpose/use. The set-up can work like an indoor Ring Camera, and you can use UV Sterilizer wands to great effect, since she can basically stand perfectly still. And as a deliberately easy to build humanoid robot, I hope that hobbyists can make their own designs and purposes.

>It's cheap shit
>Do you have any proof?
>It's literally cheap components
>It's cheap because I want it to be affordable
lmao, you're a delusional hack. What you miss is that even most of lonely incels will not settle for your piece of shit contraption. This is not even a robot, it's just home assistant on a vacuum cleaner. And it's not multi purpose - it's just there to help you cope with your lack of social skills which you should be working on instead. You're a weak person escaping to your childhood fantasy world instead of dealing with your reality. This "robot" is only pulling you down
>>
>>2984882
Yeah, that's how engineering and inventing works, you use affordable components to create things, especially if you intend on people investing in making one. You can print her with the most expensive filament you find, if that matters to you so much.
>it's not multi purpose
It is though. I designed her, I should know
>childhood fantasy world
It's not a fantasy if she's real and standing in my room this very second

>It is though. I designed her, I should know
Okay, list the purposes of this thing
>It's not a fantasy if she's real and standing in my room this very second
Are you sure you fantasized of mounting bunch of pipes on a roomba when you were a kid? Was that your ultimate fantasy you just made real and now you're content with it with no need of improvement?

Okay, this is getting tiring. It's clear you have an agenda/grudge against Galatea, for what reason, I don't know

>liberal political grudge.
I'm simply pointing out your own statements from couple threads ago where you seemed to believe you're participating in some kind of revolution against women and your roomba will make women jelous and force them to serve men. I was being very generous by calling it bordeline mysoginy
>>
>>
>>2985092
>I came here for robotics and I got a fucking roomba with a wig that you dubbed a diy robot what the fuck did you expect I was going to say
man roomba is a robot itself. Literally a SLAM enabled robot that can navigate complex spaces, OP cpitalized on it and put a maid looking 3d print on it. Its DIY enough. Stop expecting Figure/teslabot level DIYs. at least he is slowly getting newer versions out with minor improvements.
Looks like you are some dumbass with nothing but hatred against people who at least try.
A roomba with a wig and a maid dress is better than a roomba with no maid looking roomba bitch. Move past it and get the fuck off this thread.
>>
OP has many talents and other inventions such as cybernetic implants (wearing one aliexpress earbud at a time instead of two), plasma blaster (lighter and a can of starting fluid), infrasound weapon (link to a website that plays a 17hz sine wave) and so many more!

>>2985153
Well yeah, if you look at my minor or old inventions, or just say them in a reductive way, my progress sounds bad. I've improved over the past 5 and a half years. I haven't used Janitor ai since 2024 because I moved to local AI in January 2025. What have you done beside bitch and moan about my robot?
You going through my past inventions and looking at them in detail clearly shows you have a grudge against me way beyond you just not liking my project. I assume based on your comments that it's a politics/feminism thing, but I'm far from certain. Stop shitting up this board with your endless seethe. You've already made your dislike public several times, and now you're just repeating the same angry points. You're not going to dissuade me, if anything, it strengthens my resolve. If you think my robot is primitive and useless, I challenge you to do better.
>>
>>2985165
If you're too sensitive to handle mild criticism why did you come to 4chan?
Novice level 3d prints do not a robot make no matter how you word it.
>hurr durr past claims ur a feminist!!111!
You should invent a brain that can conceptualize a conversation involving more than one other person since that's my first post in this thread

Well, too bad for you and your furry comics. You and supposedly others may not like it because of whatever reason drives you to a continuous and intense anger over a maid robot, whether it's politics or whatever esoteric reason, but like I said before, I'm going to keep building and posting/sharing my robot designs. Sorry you're displeased with my design, I invite you to do better.
>>
>>2985173
Why are you such a grand drama queen? You glue a couple 3d prints together and call yourself a roboticist you put links to chatGPT and grok on a webpage and call it an auto doctor and the lightest of ribbing on 4chan is "intense anger" to you.
You need to go outside and smoke a little weed. Calm tf down little bro

it relates by the extension that he implemented on it.
which is the maid 3d print. He DIY'ed a great roomba maid bot with AI linked to it.
not every DIY is from scratch. If that were the case people would need to literally forge bolts and screws fram scrap metals.
>>
>>2985192
> He DIY'ed a great roomba maid bot
How is that a "DIY'ed bot", it's just a dress from fetish store mounted on a vacuum cleaner. If I put coke can on a roomba did I just create a coca cola companion bot and should advertise this as a diy robot? What the fuck is wrong with you
>with AI linked to it.
You mean you bought that alexa thing which spies on you and sells your personal information to data brokers

what makes you unlikable is the fact that you're pushing stick on a roomba in robotics threads and calling it a robot, but it's to be expected you don't get this and won't even get it once it's spelled in your face because you're socially crippled to the point where you decided to put stick on a roomba and call it your girlfriend/cure to loneliness

creepy as fuck but cool at the same time.

Jesus Christ OP is literally fucking trash. He's cumming into a trash can while listening to text2speech erotica. His bloodline ends in a trashcan, he's the ultimate testament of his parents' failure - a misfortunate victim of times where 3d printing is avaliable to the masses. His legacy: self-propelled fleshlight from a can of pringles. This is the kind of humiliation someone would subject you to out of sheer spite and hatred, I have no idea why it's tolerable when someone does this to themself.

It's no longer useful as such, though. Roomba is flat so it can get under the table/bed/etc. but with this big fucking mast on top it would trip while trying to perform a cleaning routine. This essentially means galatea is useless dirty whore who just freeloads in OP's house without doing any chores - which in turn makes him a simp for a dysfunctional vacuum cleaner.
>>
it's actually insane how OP claims to be a roboticist, designer and inventor while he can't even design a simple wheeled chasis for a 10lbs skeleton. After attaching it on to a roomba there's no more progress to be made. He'll just buy a new dress and call it a version 4.0
