Or they make lengthy posts completely unrelated to fragrances and add "SOTD: [one of the frags above]", their posts (see pic related) are spam and you shouldn't take their opinions seriously.
Ignore them and/or report them for off topic posting, spamming/flooding, avatar/signature use or ban evading (he's been banned countless times already).

A clone of DHI, old DHP and new DHP. Interesting how close but different all these are, you can tell it's a family but still you can tell they're distinct.
I can also tell that this isn't universally likeable, but I really like it, although it wouldn't be in my collection if I only had 10 perfumes to keep.

Sampled Dries van Noten Mystic Moss today and got a small decant. It's insanely refreshing, quite a sharply dry and almost garden weed citrus at first. Then dries down with this somewhat marine aquatic moss. Basically 0 sweetness too. Digging it a lot

Basic lavender scent, like some old stuff we had in supermarkets here. Nothing offensive or very "chemical" smelling, performance is meh but you can splash a lot, I found it very cheap and I assume it's common.

I've tried it, it feels very cold and austere, mainly smells like fir and cypress with a bit of unburnt frankincense.

Most of Dries' frags are pretty good and the same goes for their bottles, but imo none is worth the price it goes for.

>Imaginary Authors
I bought the discovery set and it's hands down the worst brand I have ever tried. It had a lot of reviews so I thought I would at least like one but they were all terribly synthetic and cheap smelling. Watch out for shills, it's a jewish brand, just avoid.

What the fuck are you? I am thinking about buying it at some point just to peep what the hell is making this so different, and yet the people who have bought it all seem to like it. Only downside seems to be that it becomes a skin scent after an hour or two.
>>
>>18680451
Nice graphic, helps to picture the relationship between them all. That cold piney/firry smell is definitely something that draws me to Zagorsk on paper. Might go fk it soon and blind buy. If I do, I'll report back in some other frag gen.
And yeah in Aussie like almost 400 bucks for a 200ml of Dries EdT is pretty steep. Could be worth copping if longevity is decent, you'd get some years out of it.
Must say though, I've sampled New Look quite a few times and it's so offputting to me, just smells dead. Maybe aldehydes aren't my thing but not sure what Kurkdjian was going for with that one

>>
>>18680280
I tried them when I first started getting into fragrances. I thought the sample set I got was fun but gimmicky. I think it's a good marketing pitch but the fragrances smell kind of amateurish to me. I think he uses a lot of premade bases that I can recognize because I have also tried some amateur perfumery. I don't think it is wrong to ever use these bases, but I feel like most of the fragrances need to be developed more to be something I would want to buy.
>>
>>18680638
Sort of like someone burning incense in the forest. I mostly get hinoki wood. It's hard to describe what that smells like if you don't know. Maybe a more green/herbal cedar. Dry and a little smoky. Similar to Aesop Hwyl.

Hello I bought myself a rose fragrance. It’s coming end of this week. I tried it Saturday and despite shower daily I can still smell it on my wrist. It’s banger scent. Rose heavy and with patchouli it give earthy smell which I love. It’s like walking in a garden full of roses. I’m a floral guy but wasn’t much into roses (besides Dior homme parfum)until I tried mfk oud satin mood few months ago. It was lovely. I also tried cuir gatamale of parfum mdci which was really nice too. Do you guys like roses/florals?
>>
>>18680804
I was reading about this and so tempted to cop. How is it relative to other scents? Is the green weedy note sharp or rather natural and mellow? No idea where to sample it in Australia and couldnt find any vials on fragrancenet either, but it sounds really fkn good
>>
>>18680814
Luckyscent is about the only place you'll find samples of PdE with decent reliability. Also, they might even have their Disco kit up for sale but if you want to go down that route eventually: buy direct. They give you a discount on your first purchase (using a code that comes with the kit) and do free worldwide shipping iirc. Except America because we got cucked due to tariffs but that's been fixed now.
>>
>>18680814
very green and natural smelling, imo on the mellow side but ymmv
they do offer free worldwide delivery and yes, buy their full discovery set as they have some top-notch frags in there and even their less shilled frags are pretty good

I didn’t spray EDP on my wrist sadly. On paper it was more spicy and less earthy. Extrait is more simple than other rose fragrances since it’s mostly rose/oud combo yk. Which I don’t mind but personally I find it a bit too much. Radical rose has slight sweetness from labdanum ,heavy dose of rose, earthiness of patchouli. I don’t really get saffron not so much as the edp. This is unisex maybe slight masculine leaning. Mfk satin oud mood gave me vibes of classy 50 year rich businesswoman nice scent just not something I think I would want to wear a lot. Idk I tried this,Atomic rose from initio and No man’s rose of byredo. I liked byredo the most but longevity was joke. RR extrait is lovely rose scent uni sex nothing too loud and lasts for days

Hinoki is quite woody and dry, no smoke, somewhat green.
Kyoto is woody and airy, sandalwood, a hint of smoke and flowers, calming.
Hwyl is woody and green, more aromatic, more fir, feels somewhat colder and slightly bitter.
Hwyl is closer to Zagorsk than Kyoto imo, as far as both scent and feel go.

>Acqua Di Scandola
>Le Cri
>Yuzu Fu
>Mal-aime
>Eau Sauve
I know Eau Sauve is a woman's frag, but it leans pretty masculine. Especially once it dries down. It's something a woman would find nice on a guy, but maybe not "attractive" in the same way Stronger With You or Tuscan Leather or any of the other go-to's do. Also, it was dirt fuckin' cheap for a full bottle. My only regret is that it's going to be 2-4 weeks before this shit ships.

Beau de Jour is a light airy lavender with a tiny touch of sweetness.
Fougere Royale, I think, smells a big synthetic, but is a crystaline floral bouquet with no sweetness at all
Sartorial is a honeyed earthy metallic lavender
All three of these smell very different, and they are all too expensive to blind buy. In fact, Beau de Jour has exploded in price since being discontinued, and is not at all worth the price. It's currently at the same price as the actual masterpiece fougere from Tom Ford: Fougere d' Argant. I think Royale is not worth it in terms of quality - It is a worse version of Reflection Man, which is also very expensive.
>>
>>18681211
>I think Royale is not worth it in terms of quality - It is a worse version of Reflection Man, which is also very expensive.
I dont know how you draw that comparison at all. I get zero Reflection Man from Fougere Royal.
And i would hardly call the lavender in BdJ light and airy; it's such a lavendernuke that its dripping with a candy-like, floral sweetness

QuALiTy is a meme - an hour after you spray something unless you douse yourself in it, you or anyone else smelling you at a normal distance won't be able to tell anything besides the actual scent profile and how it makes you feel.

Try basically any Amouage frag. They all hit all day long, and longer if you spray your clothes instead. Even their weakest scents don't turn into skin scents for solid 5 hours or more. The reason why people walk around them as a brand (knowing they are good, but not wanting to say it out loud) is because they're Muslims. Which, fair play, most squiggly line brands are awful clone warehouses. Amouage? Not so much. They actually make originals, and they make certain they're strong as fuck without being synthetic garbage compared to their cousins also in Oman. That is one of the reasons why they can command such a high price. Although, Amouage was also in London at one point, IIRC but nothing has changed about their batches. Now that I think about it, I don't even think they've reformulated a single thing in their line up and some of them are closing in on 20 years now. Interlude 53 is an EDP, technically, but it's so concentrated that it flies right by what classifies as an EDP (what do you think the 53 stands for?) And even though EDPs classically have worse projection, this shit can still kick down a front door and let everyone know someone is wearing something in their area like it's a battle shonen.
>>
>>
>>18681316
>That is one of the reasons why they can command such a high price.
Juice is the cheapest part of a fragrance package and Amouage like every single other brand spends money on the rest of the package. The creative guy was asked multiple times in an interview why he spent all that money in the package that has no effect on the smell and he just said because he wanted to. Nice try Shill-al-Mahmood.

I got French Avenue Zenith Tobacco delivered. This is the Tobaccolor clone I asked about in another thread without having tried the original. I find something green and sharp there, which I don't know what it could be but it's making this less cozy than I imagined.
However I'd say this is quite a banger overall and I'm happy I have it, I'll definitely enjoy occasionally wearing.
Damn I fucking love smelling new things.

Juice can be the cheapest part, but sometimes isn't. I'll bring up a brand I found to be extremely disappointing: Les Indemodables. No more complicated than Frederic Malle in terms of packaging, but if you bother to read about all the autistic, "first in the industry", "only ones to do it" crap they use to explain the process of how each frag is made, you can tell like Green, they probably spend a disproportionate amount of money on the shit in the bottle. The problem with Les Indemodables, is that for all their talk of being purists and doing things the most effective way possible their frags still suck balls. I'd take Green, Malle, and Amouage over any of their frags any day of the week. The juice being cheap does have a limit though. Shittier ingredients leads to obvious pitfalls. If it didn't, then clones wouldn't be so terrible most of the time. Even the ones where the process is well known, and the stuff in the bottle is simple, it is not unusual for the squiggly line guys to make bad versions. This is why people like Amouage, they spend an appropriate amount of money on their packaging for what you get, and what you get is very good because practically everyone in this thread will say they like at least one of the following: Beach Hut, Gold, Reflection, Jubilation, one of the Interludes, Journey, Royal Tobacco, I've even seen mother fuckers say they like their women's frags before. Do you now how rare that is in a thread full of extremely insecure people? Very few people will say that they'd wear a female frag despite it being impossible to actually meaningfully embarrass them on an Anonymous Basketweaving Forum.
>>
>>18681510
Yes. I did a review on the discovery kit last month. It's shitty and primitive because I am shitty and primitive, but their stuff is excellent. Out of the 20 in there, I found myself only openly disliking 4 of the frags and that's because 2 of them were animalic musks and I fucking hate animalic musks. I like musk, but it's got to be sourced from vegetation (they have a few of these in their line up as well).
>>
>>
>>
>>18681585
>Very few people will say that they'd wear a female frag
But Mr. Shill-Abdull, PoaL, all the original Exclusifs de Chanel like Coromandel (before they were re-labeled unisex), Jicky etc.., are all women's fragrances people here have posted about wearing as men. You can like Amouage all you want but you don't need to make shit up. It gets occasionally posted here but it's not even top 10 most shilled brands here and that's being generous, but you might change that, keep it up. The reason nobody talks about Amouage is not because they're Ayyrabs, the OG shills had a falling out with the brand when they got rid of the guy directing all their good fragrances, increased prices to even more ridiculous levels, discontinuing beloved fragrances, and introducing disappointing fragrances. And no, the price is not justified, it never is, don't be dumb. Most brands keep positioning fragrances as a luxury good while costing pennies to make. All the money goes into convincing idiots that they're not getting scammed.

No, they lived in literal filth, it was vile. Leather manufacturing stunk up Grasse so bad they had perfumers to gloss over the stink. Paris has historically been a city of filth, both figuratively and literally. Even today the stink of Paris (and their worse inhabitants) continue to traumatized tourists. You hear it from everyone who visits, just how stinky and gross it is.

Dylan Blue is way more accessibly sexy than Sauvage, it was just the marketing push with Depp that made Sauvage big.
Dylan Blue is what every cool and well groomed guy in a movie wears, in everyone's mind.
I have 200ml and wore it twice outside over three years but I still realize if all you want is to support being a cool hot guy this is the only thing you need to wear every day.

lol, lmao even, it was released about a week ago

>>
>>18682289
>It just released
That is what I mean by batch consistency. It's possible that they haven't worked the kinks out in production. Half of the comments say it smells like cigarettes and old car leather (in a derogatory manner) because you can't smell anything else, the other half talk about how it smells incredible, effervescent, sweet, a hint of leather with a good dry down. I read comments from group A and think to myself that's a production issue. I read comments from group B and think that's the intended fragrance that it's supposed to create.
For all we know, they flew too close to the sun and both statements could be true because it's not easy to make, and that's lead to them producing something which is good, great even, but not consistent.
>>
>>
>>18682289
Also, it doesn't cost less than a hundred. Fragrantica is just doing that retard thing where it links you to the wrong frag. They don't even have it. They don't have most of EP's line up for that matter. I still bought it on the off-chance that this will turn out to be my favorite frag because it has all the makings of that being the case from the accords they list. I'll be devastated if it is shit. I liked EP's disco kit, but there was only like three samples in there I'd actually buy over other brands. I got two free samples (I picked extraits since those weren't in the kit), and the Bois Imperial was fantastic (I'd pick it over the regular one in a heartbeat), but The Musc one was somehow worse than the regular one. I actually went and purchased a bottle of The Musc from them because I felt it filled a gap in my collection. I normally hate musky frags, but the synthetics they used in that got far enough away from animalic musk that I enjoyed it.

Have you tried La Nuit De L'Homo? Especially bleu electrique.
It's not 1-1 but it's within the same family for me, both are 10/10 in terms of both being enjoyable to me but to others too.
That one has bad performance too, but there's a lattafa clone al nashama caprice which has better performance and is super affordable. I have that and it's not a monster but lasts longer and you can spray as much as you want.
I will eventually buy the original d&g, the new one, because it's amazing and for whatever reason the stupid arabs still haven't made an equivalent.
The new reformulation is supposed to be longer lasting btw but in reality for me the strip stopped smelling before anything else I sprayed in the store the other day.

Finally got almost all my perfumes together (another 10 or so are at my office apt). All in all around 110 in the pic.
Besides like 10 ultra cheap ones and another 15 that are unwearable for me, I am pretty much happy with getting all the other ones.

how does it smell like , and what would you compare it to? I've been thinking of copping one, but I'd rather have 30-50ml versions as a first time blind buy and I only find 100ml ones.

makes me wonder why internet pictures of perfume collections are like:

>>
>>
>>18682551
Theyre inspired by them but not close enough to be clones or anything like that. It's less "spinoff" or "clone" and moreso "for fans of"
Fougere L'Aube is mostly camphor and hay dominating and doesn't come across as GIT at all imo
Bon Monsieur i guess is sort of like if you crossed OG Drakkar Noir with Sartorial. It's very very soapy
>>
>>
>>
>>18682681
Most unwearable is Cabochard Gres EDP, I can't stand the smell, it's not annoying, it's just horrible, I don't know why you would want to smell like this intentionally.
Other things off the top of my head that are unwearable for me but I can understand why some people would maybe like them are Encre Noire, Oud Is Great Zimaya, Joop Homme, Lattafa Vintage Radio (super popular initio clone), Lattafa Musk Salama, Halloween Man Shot, Green Tea Elizabeth Arden, Jaque Bogart Pour Homme, Fabulo Intense Maison Alhambra (Fucking Fabulous clone), Lanvin L'Homme.
>>
>>18682698
I do agree with most of them; in my experience, clones are rather miss than hit.
Some anon talked me out of getting vintage Radio and other clones, wanted to blind buy a couple just for the sake of buying.

I admit I keep my bottles the same way, custom built-in wardrobe but wood finish, not flat white. Keeping them just like that is good for longevity but feels too utilitarian. However, displaying it in shelves, glass cases and whatever is a bit fruity if not full blown homosexual, I agree. Strange conundrum

3-5 is the average. Depends on the strength and the kind. If it's a freshy, light frag then obviously you do more since it won't be obtrusive in the first place, and they tend to have poor staying power.

I thought freshies are the blue/citrus scents. At least that is my definition of fresh.
I definitely want something light and citrussy.
>AF Fierce
costs 50 bucks here.. is that worth it?
>montblanc blue
bad performance according to fagrantica
im still stuck between bleu, sauvage or maybe supremacy collectors edition
could also just get terre d hermes maybe or chanel allure homme (which one tho)
too many choices
fun fact I found an old bottle of Eau Rochas homme in my stuff and it smells like piss. very flat citrus and some sort of spicy note.

>>
>>18682478
I second Dior Homme Sport. Citrus, a bit if aldehydes and incense, lasts a long time
Could also go for Bois Imperial or Kenzo Homme EDP if you want room-filling bishbombs but the profile is not for everyone

2 sprays in inner elbows
2 sprays on wrists
>regular EDT, strong cologne
4 sprays on inner elbows

Concentration naming is irrelevant to performance and thus to how much I spray, each fragrance is different.

I'll go test it real quick to remind myself. If you're asking "compare it to another frag" I can't help you. I am total dogshit at remembering and always need to smell the nebulizer on all my shit except perhaps a total of four frags since I constantly forget. For me it's a sort of recall of a suitability? I guess would be the word, not "this smells like this". I look at the frag and go, "Ah yes, this is suitable." but I can't explain how I know until I confirm it by smelling the nebulizer.
>>
>>
>>18683221
It smells amazing, but I disagree on the woody scent that people on frag tag it as having. It certainly has a great freshness to it, but I wouldn't categorize it as wood. A lot of the time "fresh" wood I've come by smells like freshly split wood, lots of green. This doesn't have that, but the way the freshness manifests does a wonderful job of elevating the rest of the accords. It's a great, well-rounded frag but it also is something that you'd wear for no reason other than to make women notice. Date night, that girl at the office, etc. It's not a club scent tho.

Why aren’t there more ways to deploy a fragrance? I know liquid in spray bottles is extremely convenient, but it seems like there’s got to be better ways of making a smell last and project well. Ive also been intrigued by those home diffusers that PDM sell, sure they’re massively overpriced, but it’s interesting to consider.

I am skeptical of home diffusers for two reasons:
It takes a long time for a scent diffused in a home to actually "stick" in the home and there needs to be a lot of it. Otherwise it goes away not long after you stop using it. I also wonder how long each refill lasts under actual conditions, not ideal ones.

My Replica kit came in. So far, out of every kit I've bought, they are the only ones who categorize their frags by season.
>>
>>18683327
They definitely lean into the idea of owning multiple fragrances. From a marketing perspective they have the whole “memory in a bottle” thing, like fragrances are made to be enjoyed and switched up. Interesting that influencers are also prone to categorize by season since their whole schtick is owning and collecting fragrances.
>>
>>18683293
All very good points, but there has got to be an answer. I’m sure a professional perfumer or someone similarly knowledgeable could give us some ways to get your whole home smelling good for super cheap. I’ll have to look into it a little more, I was hoping someone had some ideas.

>Artificial
A lot of the best houses don't use a single ingredient that isn't naturally sourced. Additionally, synthetic ingredients that houses use are extremely expensive, and require ton of research while still having to smell good.
The shitty houses, are what you're describing. Go look at the graphs below the OP, go to Microscent or Luckyscent and order some decants that sound interesting. Frags ultimately have a variety of uses. They can exude a sense of class and refinement, they can help cover scents, they can attract, they can remind you of a time or a place. They're generally just nice to own.

What is this shit? I don't remember. I went out tonight and these ladies kept saying how good I smelled. "What IS that?" they kept asking.
"Cigarette smoke?" I replied.
They said it was some of the best cologne they'd smelled.
I had no idea it was so strong. At least they liked it.

Oh yeah, thanks. I got a bunch of samplers around Christmas. I'll definitely remember that reaction to it when I go to get a big bottle of something. But honestly I like having like fifteen different scents and changing it up all the time, and at that rate I'll probably never even go through all the little bottles like those, not to mention the mid size and big ones. I still have bottles from 15 years ago. I'm not the type to settle on a favorite and I don't put very much on. They really last. I'm probably set for life. But that Explorer does smell nice. Can't say I won't be favoring it a little when going out now.

Depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking for a scent you can wear more often, I really like the EDT Intense. Theres less of the of waxy iris with added woods and spices. Overall feels fresher and more casual, but still interesting/different than other "blue" scents out there (it doesnt smell "blue" to me, but the bottle is blue so some people make that association).

Do solid fragrances just suck ass? I like the containers, and I like the idea of being able to reapply them whenever (without needing to decant or get gouged on a travel size), but I assume they stain clothes very easy and have an equally weak sillage.
>>
>>
>>18683327
Worked my way through this. Won't go into them a great deal because they are all very well crafted.
>Lazy Sunday Morning:
Smells fantastic, wonderfully fresh (like Saling Day also is), but the scent disappears almost immediately. It becomes a skin scent within minutes. I reapplied it in a few places to make sure I wasn't wrong. I wish it had better staying power because I'd buy it in a heartbeat if it did.
>Bubble Bath
You will smell CLEAN. Soapy, but not hand soap like the often cited GiTS is. The musk is there, and that probably is why. It's clearly a vegetable based. Coconut is there, but it's similar to a weak vanilla. The powder only emerges during the drydown, but even then it's barely there. This is good, but sample first.
>Saling Day
This is great. Would buy in a heartbeat, but it reminds me that so very many summer oriented daytime frags. This, and Beach Walk are absolutely daytime frags. They have no place being worn at night, IMO. It's fresh, aromatic, lovely but made me sad.
>Beach Walk
I wouldn't buy this because it is like a pleasant sunscreen without the synthetic nature of most sunscreens. I have no interest in smelling like that, so I wouldn't buy it for that reason but if you were looking for a summer, beach frag, say you wanted to go Miami or the Keys? I'd recommend this, otherwise dodge it.
>>
>>18683955
>Autumn Vibes
Straight off the top this feels like something you could only wear during the fall, but it quickly dies and changes. It has decent projection, but isn't overpowering. It's almost sweet, but not quite. You could wear this day or night. This a "maybe" from me.
>Afternoon Delight
It's fine. It's well made, but it's nothing to write home about. It's sweet, it's powdery, it's vanilla-y. You can probably do considerably better if you spent more, but at a $100 flat it's worth considering.
>Jazz Club
Everyone knows Jazz Club. I already own it. I don't have to get into it. If you don't know it, somehow, go read up on it.
>By the Fireplace
Extremely successful at what it's setting out to do. Just like most of these frags are. This is also the most "winter" frag out of any frag I've sampled that people like to tag as being Fall/Winter. I can't imagine wearing this anywhere but in the cold, during winter. You'd probably get weird looks.

Fresh doesn't mean marine you stupid shit. But yes you can wear fresh marine scents everywhere literally all year and people will love you for it. My gf last year asked me to wear Eros energy to go have stupidly expensive fancy cocktails in Santorini for example.
