I think bras are generally not effay as on thin fabrics they will poke out and be an eyesore as they are made for comfort(as they should) not for looking good under a shirt.
It's not a problem in winter i guess but in the summer where a super thin shirt is the best thing you can wear it has to be annoying to wear and to look at. Sports bras are better i think but they will still pop out on the really thin stuff, which also happens to be ideal for summer which is like half the year.
