As much as I try to be open minded and absolutely hate gender roles...the vast majority of men look ridiculous in dresses, including me and almost every guy I personally know.

I feel that for a man to pull of dresses he has to naturally have a somewhat feminine or at least androgynous appearance. On the average masculine guy it'll look like they're wearing a costume to try to be funny.

On the guy in the picrel it mostly works but most guys do NOT look like that in dresses.

Dresses are supposed to accentuate your womanly body, willowy men are flat and bony and have no curves to speak of, they'll always look like a cheap imitation of the real thing.

I wonder what this would look like if you designed the upper end of the dress more around the male body (instead of a cleavage use buttons left open, also emphasize the shoulders a bit more) but left the rest as it is
