im 34 and never ever had nike so I decided to ofc go with air max 90 but damn I cant decide which variant, mesh, leather, drift , cordura, gore-tex what the I guess drift ones look the best to me but I am totally lost on materials
>>18684375 Imo the best are the colour poppin versions. Neons, infared, blue lightning. They became part of the underground rave scene of the 90’s so I think a dopamine inducing pop of colour fits and stays true to their roots.
need to buy casual pairs, contemplating on: >Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66/GSM >Sambas
Haven't owned a pair of Adidas for a few years. The last one I had broke down so quickly, ordered a few pairs last summer, sent them back because the quality seemed awful.
Onitsuka Tigers are just priced so high, I can get Sambas with 90 europoors, practically half of what Onitsuka Tiger costs.
>>18690299 They are perfectly fine. You wont get bullied and put in “what are those?!” tiktoks but also wont get girls surrounding you and complimenting your shoe
>>18687649 >never heard of this brand, look them up >another japanese brand that does cool stuff and isn’t that expensive >they dont ship to europe >have to use grailed and import sites and pay double This is why I hate the japanese
I can't believe they discontinued my favorite sneakers, wtf do I wear now for walking, hokas? ugly as sin and expensive, same goes for oncloud, and I don't trust the quality of nike or adidas, vans also suck ass and aren't that comfortable.
Someone explain gats to me. Why would I ever buy MM when I can get a pair from Adidas for at worst a fifth of the price? They're even the original manufacturer too.
What's a good lifestyle/running sneaker that adds minimal height? Adidas NMD R1s are 22mm forefoot, 27mm heel, and i absolutely love it. Just enough cushion for daily walking and running, but doesn't feel like there's pillows taped to the bottom of your foot. I looked at some retro runner type of sneakers, the only thing I found was the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 SE... Even that is 31mm heel though. I also really hate stan smith type of sneakers, with the flat bottom, makes me feel like i'm walking on a concrete slab , i really want a running sneaker in particular.
>>18693369 Apologies, I misread your reply. I did buy some orthotics insoles, but it's difficult to find good shoes to put them in, with removable insoles, not flat shape, not ugly.
Why do you all need help buying basic ass inoffensive sneakers like sambas/af1 etc, do you lack such little confidence in your own decision making abilities
>>18696629 well yes you should have white shoes as well. i don't think black top+black shoes=autist. for me what gives the autist effect is black shoes+blue jeans, never looks right to me.
>>18696629 you're not wrong, it's very schoolshottercore, especially with light jeans white shoes will always be a better choice even if they're extremely played out rn
>>18683939 got these coming in tomorrow. I don't spend enough time on /fa/ to know if people here like shit like this, but I'm feelin good about them >>18696792 they can look good with white jeans imo, lot of factors depend on that tho
Contemplating whether to keep these. £130. Toebox a little narrow, could've sized up a half. Would need to buy clothes which go with them too. Gel quantum kinetic
>>18697933 I honestly rarely go on this board at all so I have no idea what psyop they're running, I just was wondering if there's a brand with better color options. I like more neutral colors.
Ive never worn them but there are Keds, Toms and Bobs. If you want to cheap out and spend money on a thick insole as an extra you could go for generic aka brandless stuff.
>>18698146 It’s only expensive because it says Rick Owens on the box. It’s not even a meme like geobaskets, so you’ll never get your money’s worth Cos copycats are like 130 euros and even that is overpriced
>>18699411 i'm not sure if this is comprehensive, ie totally encompassing of every colorway ever, but stockX has seemingly every color for auction for a lot of shoes so you can see them there https://stockx.com/brands/nike?category=sneakers&gender=men&shoe-height=low&model=air-force-1
>>18683939 I really like the way dunks look but I feel like they just look so fat on my feet. I'm too used to slimmer profile, something like the classic Puma Suede or any of the common projects clones. When girls wear dunks though it looks like they're not nearly as fat. Wish they made slimmer dunks, it's too impossible to navigate the nike catalog because they drop a billion shits. Something similar to the court royal but maybe a bit thicker and with dunks styles. Do these exist?
>late night >just got back from drinking with gf >she is in her sad-drunk phase >telling me how scared she was about me half-assedly talking about buying a house (past relationship trauma) >im sitting with her on the couch and my geos are facing me on the other side of the room, proud and erect. >gf has clearly been letting this house stuff eat at her and shes finally letting it out >all i can think is 'god damn these sneakers are beutiful'
I'm getting these. >>18696629 >>18696792 I bought a pair of triple black Wave Prophecy LS and experienced this exact issue. I usually dress with CDG style saurel pants and I felt uncomfortable wearing them even in the best outfit I could manage. Maybe you could pull them off with military style pants, camo cargo whatever, but that's about it apart from all black.
Looking for some black sneakers. I was considering sambas but apparently they’re lame now and not great for actually walking around in. Thoughts and recs?
>>18701548 990 series is heat but also they jacked the price up and it pisses me off; some models also aren't available all the time for no good reason
>>18701551 I have a pair of the 990v3s that I've had for years but rarely worn, but I've started putting them in the rotation. I had a few pairs of the 993s in the past and really want to try a pair again, or the 992s, which I never got to wear.
>>18683939 Reccs for good space theme shoes? Got a space themed party within the year >>18687769 On the list potentially. Haven't had a pair of 11s or even Js so might e a good way to try >>18692205 Try thheir current lifestule shoes like the Kayano 14, Gel NYC of Cumulus 16? Could also go Brooks, which put their modern cushion in their 70's shoes >>18695668 Saucony Omni 9s. Gotta get them in the right colorway too look good >>18700832 Fire
>>18702427 oh yeah, pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. Some of the colorways on these are very dunks like. Definitely not as many colorways exist but that's expected. Thanks for the rec
What are some height boosting trainers? I wore sketchers which gave a considerable boost, but I want something new and cool, unopposed to boots too. I'm 5'9" and want to be 5'10 atleast. With my sketchers plus insoles I got to 5'11.5 because they compressed.
>>18707441 they look cheap, the blue is horrid, the stripe is horrid and the general design seems like a margiela gats/bw army clone but with a lot worse silhouette, that why they look so cheap normal army sneakers are lower, pic related
>>18707391 ya they look pretty bad. i could tell right away theyre not margielas. if youre gonna wear that silhouette, stick to mmm or adidas. its like the common projects achilles thing, where everyone was trying to make a copy of them, but the copies were just cheap knock-offs.
How’s the sizing on Nike Cortez compared to for example Chuck 70s or NB 574? AI seems to say to go same size as my 574s but I just wanted to get some input from someone with actual feet.
I'm trying to decide between New Balance 530s, 740s, Asics Gel-1130s and NB 992s(too expensive desu). I tried all kinds of shoes already like Sambas, Gazelle Indoors, AF1s, Reebok c85s and they were all too narrow for me, especially the toe box. I'm ready to upgrade to comfy running shoes, but I can't really decide on a pair that would look good and would be easy to wear with trackpants and denim. Any recs or input would be appreciated.
>>18709505 IMO these running shoe type of sneakers don’t work well with jeans. I have the NB 574 and I really only wear them with sweatpants and shorts. That’s not to say you couldn’t style them with jeans but that’s just my opinion at this moment of time and I might change my view if I see some good fits combining them.
>>18708461 Serves you right, the GATs are ugly and the only benefit is the suede makes them more durable. I don't know why the fuck they've become popular.
>>18700488 I bought TTS on the brown pair 3-4 years ago and I really wish I went a half size or full size up on them, they just pinch my toes and I can't wear them long.
>>18715940 i cant imagine wearing something on my feet that you can't heel toe shift or get in a fight in. those 5" eva foam stack cope shoes you guys are always posting here are cringe. i have two pairs of converse, my running shoes and my trail runners. those are my only sneakers. then i have dress shoes, my hiking boots and my work boots. none of those boot thread type boots. i dont have anything against those types of boots as long as you only buy like 2 pairs to rotate for a category of boot you like. any more than that is funko pop redditor shit.
>>18716314 i got rid of all my hype sneakers at the start of the stockx era. once it became about reselling and price tags it was gay as fguck. i care more about how my fits look than what some tweenager tikkity tokker thinks about them.
When did any of you here realized that Nike sneks are uncomfortable as fuck and you were buying the brand and not the sneakers? I got that realization when I got my first pair of Ultraboost and I haven't look back ever since. I heard positive things about Pegasus and Vomeros but I don't want to get ripped off again.
>>18716760 1s have been noted to be especially uncomfortable as far as jordans go - in fact it's usually them or 4s that are cited as the least comfortable jordan model the models more generally viewed as comfier are the 3s, 5s and 13s
>>18716745 when did you guys realize the resell prices on hype nike sneakers was a money laundering scheme and that vice president (((anne hebert)))s kid was the biggest reseller and that the prices crashed and the hype all went away after they got caught?
>>18716857 i have narrow feet so the brands people always complain about like converse, salomon, reebok, asics & narrow adidas models like stan smiths are the most comfortable to me.
