I have a 10a. I like it well enough.

Exynos modem, PowerVR GPU and a lot of die space wasted on.a useless NPU

The best phones ever made by the greatest company in the world.
>>
First SoC they actually made themselves instead of Samsung. It'll get better in 1 or 2 generations.
>>
>>108621402
>It'll get better when they fab on tsmc
>It'll get better when they drop exynos
>It'll get better when...
That's what they've been saying since the tensor g1
>>
Meanwhile Xiaomi's first chip (Xring O1) is fully custom and on par with the Snapdragon 8 Elite it competes with. Get mogged Google
>>
I'm using a pixel 9a right now to make this post. Is there any reason to get the 10a? Seems like a side grade.
>>
>>108617239
It can't play Genshin
>>
>>108621438
G4 was OK though.

Price, camera tumor, and the gutting of useful apps to have AI slopware shoehorned into everything. Google used to have some pretty useful apps then once gemini came about nothing really works anymore and it's quicker to just do shit myself.
>>

>Price
Yeh.
>camera tumor
Yeh, but you need big sensor and big lens to take good photos, which is half the point of getting a Pixel over something like a Motorola. Then again you're gonna pay a premium for the 10 Pro if you're targeting having a photo powerhouse in your pocket since they neutered the sensors for the non-Pro.
>the gutting of useful apps to have AI slopware shoehorned into everything
Yeh, but the other half of the point of getting a Pixel is to put GrapheneOS on it and have a clean, non-shit, de-Googlified AOSP experience.

Until the motorola phone comes out. I'm also looking at the fairphone 6 for either /e/OS or just vanilla android. It has a removable battery and expandable storage. No headphone jack though. No idea on the camera since I don't care as I have an actual camera that will outclass every phone on the market.
>>

>Until the motorola phone comes out
It likely won't have as good of a camera and the two reasons I'm dead set on getting a 10 Pro without the headphone jack and the mSD slot is to have GOS and an awesome camera, and I really really like the telescopic lens on the 10 Pro. Hopefully it'll be cheap as shit so that I'll have something decent to shill to people.

>I have an actual camera that will outclass every phone on the market
That's great, but I'd like to have something in my pocket that'll take gorgeous photos of sunsets and full moons without being either washed out or over-brightened because the camera sensor and software are too weak to handle low light conditions properly. Obv a full-blown DSLR would mog any smartphone, but you're not gonna hog a whole rig with you to capture moments like these.

Google's optimization makes all the difference and why phones like the 9a make sense. It's a smartphone, not a desktop after all.
>>
they should use more efficient Qualcomm chips, if they did that and maybe made the Pixels a bit more compact they would be near perfect
>>
>>108621576
>but you're not gonna hog a whole rig with you to capture moments like these.
I did for a while. Now I'm too busy for pictures. When I can go camping I always take it with.
>>
>>108617239
The next phone I'm buying is a linux phone, fuck android and apple.
>>
>>108617239
My 8a work nicely still the most functional android I ever had
>>
>>108621632
I'm still on a 5a. Although who knows how much longer I will be able to be. The battery no longer takes a full charge. Just stops at usually 98%. However I only let it charge at max 10w with a fan on it so it can't get warm charging. Trying to slow the spicy pillow creation it is undoubtedly trying to make.
>>
>>108621601
Usually when I wanted to take a nice photo was while I was driving and wanted to stop for a bit, so in my case it makes more sense to get a good camera phone rather than invest in a DSLR to haul around in the boot.
>>
>>108621658
You have a fair point. I just went straight to an actual camera and never looked back. I miss being able to just go for drives, they were relaxing.
>>
>>108621652
Battery of the 5a was better than most of the modern pixels. But that phone is a ticking timebomb. A sudden brick is inevitable.
>>
>>108621674
I have heard that. I moved everything critical off it already like 2FA and shit like that. I got mine pretty early after release since my 1st gen XL wouldn't last a day. Hopefully whatever was defective was just a few bad batches mine wasn't part of. Google wasn't very transparent on it and never sent out any emails or anything on it. A very lol, get fucked attitude.
My 5a used to go about five days on a charge, now I'm down to two or three.
>>
>>108621458
It's the same phone but with faster charging
>>
>>108621674
Read up on it a little, seems it's getting stuck in some low level firmware upgrade mode. People are talking about having to wait for the battery to completely die to get it to start working again and it doesn't go for very long after that. Maybe I'll just pick up a 10a, I have a trip planned and that would be highly inconvenient to have it die.
>>
>>108617239
Insane price for mediocre hardware, and considering the fact everyone is buying them to just install GrapheneOS, they should be giving them away for free, maybe then I will get one, I would not pay actual money for it
>>
>>108621576
>mSD slot
that shit is way too slow bro, not suitable for 2026
>>
>>108617239
The tensor g5 literally just caught up to the performance of the snapdragon 8 gen 2 used in the s23 ultra from 2023. But it also uses way more power and causes app phones with it to have the
battery life of a 2012 flagship
>>
>>108621438
yeah they've been fine since G3 aka P8, only hindifags that care about benchmark numbers think otherwise
i don't really see any purpose in complaining about the phones being glorified midrangers, they are that and it's reflected in the price that drops by half after several months
>>
>>108617239
I got the pixel 10 pro and I'm perfectly happy with it. Only thing they could have improved was the GPU games performance, but I don't really play phone games anyway
>>
>>108617239
Nothing, it's great. Slap Graphene on it and you have the only non-retarded, non-faggot smartphone available.

Graphene is schizo... note how they have their main discussion in D*scord of all places. Totally secure phone, just install Google Play Services to install an additional spyware chat app to get support! (Yes, they have Matrix, but claim they can't moderate... funny, they banned me for mentioning AI).

They are always claiming gangstalking and harassment, while they are the ones actually harassing other projects like /e/OS.

Run Android Canary like a boss.
t. P10Pro enjoyer as well

>>108623414
REEEE YOU'RE GANGSTALKING ME AND HARASSING ME, YOU ARE FROM CALYX OS! NO! YOU ARE FROM LOUIS ROSSMANN! NO! YOU ARE FROM /e/OS!!!!

you fuckers think you can stop me with your harassment, I will harass you while crying about harassment

Same. Slapped graphene is on this puppy and it works great.
>>
>>108623503
Can you run banking apps and that sort of globohomo software on it?
>>
>>108623507
NTA, but I can run multiple EU-based banking apps just fine.
>>
>>108623507
Yeah, its all sandboxes. I've had no issues except for strange apps. And f-droid has alternatives like pedometer for example, nobody needs to know where the fuck I'm walking but the one from google won't work without phoning home. The fdriod one works perfectly and no one knows how many or often I step.
>>
Isnt anyone worries about Google putting any kind of hardware backdoors or spyware into their phone?
Serious question. I'm not saying they did but based on their track record it is a question worth asking.

Yeah except China cant weaponize your data against you (yet). Google on the other hand..

they've probably sold more of these than any other pixel with the prices they were giving them away for

Buy a real phone.

I personally have a pixel 8 that is still running strong
>>
>>108621774
Picked up the 10a to replace my 5a. Not sure if I'll install graphene or just root and debloat the stock image. I don't need my phone for much and used to get about 5 or so days out of my 5a. Hopefully this one with an actual charge limit setting and battery saver will help the battery last longer than five years.

Google products like the search engine and Youtube are pure dogshit.
