Why should I ever use Brave as opposed to Firefox + uBlock Origin + Betterfox?

If you need a FOSS Chromium-based browser with an emphasis on privacy features, Brave is probably your best bet.

I've moved to Brave as a test, and I was surprised how my every slow user script was suddenly snappy fast, and also mysterious bugs were gone, everything was faster indeed.
Switched back to Firefox somewhat recently, and I kept getting range ban errors on 4chan. Turns out that Cloudflare rates you as a terrorist for using Firefox.

I had to verify my email twice even though I added this website as an exception for cookies. anyway, using more than one browser is bloat, but I have Chromium just so that Anna's Archive downloads can work
