Still rocking a Steam Deck OLED.
Just beat Dark Souls 2 on it today.
The big advantage it has is the trackpads.
I can go from playing a boomer shooter, to playing a 4X game, to playing a Zachtronics kino.
Honestly, games haven't really improved since Elden Ring (which the Steam Deck runs just fine). I see no reason to upgrade. I almost built a desktop recently with my tax return but thought, "what's the fucking point?" Theres almost no games worth playing that cant run on it.

UMPCs are the future chud.
I used my Steam Deck as my gaming PC and daily driver for over a year exclusively. It handled everything.
I can also lay in bed or on the couch comfortably while playing. Cant do that with a laptop.
They provide a console experience with a desktop mode for when you need to fuck with a web browser (mods, emulator setup, etc).
Also imagine destroying your phone battery playing games on it. Imagine putting up with shitty android emulators. Imagine gaming on a laptop that isnt using a strix halo chip. Almost every single gaming laptop is dog shit that overheats.
Again, they are the future.

I have done this with a laptop for like 15 years. You just put a little platform for the laptop and mouse on your lap and lay down against some pillows. I played css almost exclusively on a gateway gaming laptop in bed.

these squares have shit ass ergonomics, they're heavy and their games aren't designed for the form factor
on top of that they have tiny screens
if you are travelling long distance, you can just set up with a laptop and controller and you will have a better experience than with a steamdeck
if you are travelling short distance, why would you bother whipping out a steamdeck?
seems like it's just trying to sell a dream to people with far too little free time

>I can also lay in bed or on the couch comfortably while playing. Cant do that with a laptop.
case in point, you literally want to sleep and game simultaneously because you don't have any time as a resident work slave
anyhow, just connect your gaming pc to your living room tv and use a controller
>They provide a console experience with a desktop mode for when you need to fuck with a web browser (mods, emulator setup, etc).
I can only imagine the pain of navigating a desktop os through an 800p 7 inch touchscreen with the assistance of thumbsticks
definitely way fucking better than a laptop
>Also imagine destroying your phone battery playing games on it. Imagine putting up with shitty android emulators.
anytime you have a reasonable amount of time to kill you probably have a way to charge your phone
more importantly, android emulators work great
>Almost every single gaming laptop is dog shit that overheats.
should have picked a better laptop
regardless, it has more power than the steamdeck
you will never belong to the pc master race
you will never be a real gamer
you will never have time to properly immerse youself in video games
larping with your $500 brick for 20 minutes in the morning, while you commute to work, is all you get
cope and seethe as much as you want

Ive been unemployed for 9 months. Been traveling asia.
>anyhow, just connect your gaming pc to your living room tv and use a controller
Its not as comfortable. I cant do that in bed.
>I can only imagine the pain of navigating a desktop os through an 800p 7 inch touchscreen with the assistance of thumbsticks
Docked retard. I have a KBM and plug into a TV/Monitor.
>definitely way fucking better than a laptop
It is.

You still destroy the battery with heat you actial retard. And no, they don't. The lag is awful and the lack of tactile buttons make playing anything that requires precision a nightmare
>should have picked a better laptop
>regardless, it has more power than the steamdeck
There are almost no good games that cant run on a steam deck

Have sex.

Sounds like. You are the one coping. This year I've beaten Dark Souls 2, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ninja Gaiden Ragebound, and almost 1CC'd Mushihimesama while traveling and enjoying festivals around Asia.

I don't understand the usecase for these if you already have a PC
Why would you force yourself to play games on a shitty tiny screen, are you really that addicted that you need video games on the go 24/7?

I recently moved house, and my new commute to work involves roughly 2.5 hours a day of sitting on a train with me bored out of my mind; tried bringing along my old 3DS and PS Vita but the games don't interest me (or rather, I can't get invested because of the small screen + flickering sunlight fucking with my ability to see what I'm doing).
Is it worth buying one of those emulation handhelds with an OLED screen from Ayn, Retroid, et al.? Also considered a Steam deck, which might be nice, but it'd be too big for how much space I have to work in with the train seats
