I'm pretty much the same. What works for me is starting to work on something that I personally like, and don't think about commercial appeal at all. There has to be something that you really enjoy: anime, video games, movies, whatever. Even if it's clichee or weird, just try to make something you personally think it's cool.
Once the ball starts rolling with that project, it's easier to work on other projects as well

mean? haha
maybe a bit blunt.
but what if my words still carry truth, eh?
don't you agree that *an interesting person* with *above average intelligence* would naturally have somewhat interesting ideas? how does shit work, if not like that? have you ever seen an actually interesting person? it is a delight even just watching them prepare breakfast eggs...
defaulting to "anyone questioning the interestingness of my life and/or sharpness of my brain is mean" honestly seems like a good starting point for entitlement and overall dullness. you are not special-by-default! and there is no reason for an anon to treat you like you were.
also, how could I already be seriously *mean* to you?
seems like calling chinese cookie manufacturers "friendly" for calling you a lovable person with their anonymous mass production commodity(?)
what do you want to hear? coming up with unique shit is hard and requires a unique person...
feel free to follow up.
