Martin Luther loved the bible verses Romans 3:21-28 so much, because it supported his view of salvation through faith alone, that he intentionally mistranslated it to try to make his argument stronger.
Here's an accurate translation of verse 28
>For we hold that a person is justified by faith apart from works prescribed by the law.
Luther on the other hand wrote
“So halten wir nun dafür, daß der Mensch gerecht werde ohne des Gesetzes Werke, allein durch den Glauben.” Or, in English, to the original line, “For we hold that a person is justified by faith apart from works prescribed by the law,” Luther added the word allein, or “alone,” so that it read, “For we hold that a person is justified by faith alone apart from works prescribed by the law.” Not what Paul said, tsk tsk. Railing against indulgences is not a justification for taking liberties with the bible.

He wrote music and thought reformation was cool up until the point it started to upset the secular order of things instead of giving Italians headaches.
Also he seemed to like the jews up until they told him to fuck off at which point he does n't anymore.
In conclusion, he was a fat nigga and also he didn't do anything Jan Hus didn't.

Luther’s translation of the verse is an accurate dynamic equivalence. The meaning of the verse is that the sinner is justified by faith alone, despite the whining of papists. Luther defended his translation by showing many other writers across church history who also inserted the word alone into the verse, including Thomas Aquinas. To change the words of scripture to change their meaning is ungodly, to change the words to show their meaning is pious.

Hussites are still around (the Moravians, specifically), if that's what you refer to.

this is mere sophistry, it's just a fancier of way of saying the bible means what I want it to mean, and therefore its ok that I changed it to reflect that. It is arrogant to think you alone can know that.

to be honest I don't even have many theological disagreements with Catholicism beyond maybe the focus on mary in art (I think other saints should get more attention too). I just hate them because they're foreigners.

No it’s not, this is willful intellectual dishonesty. I think you would not complain like this if one of your papist priests said “what Jesus means is this or that”, as any explanation of any scripture will by definition be non-identical in word to the text being explained. Again, the actual meaning of Romans 3:28 is that justification is by faith alone, and Rome’s heretical dogma is completely indefensible on the basis of scripture, which is why she has assaulted the authority of scripture in order to silence it and substitute her own self for it and make herself the judge in her own trial.

The protest of the Protestants was fully justified, the self-blinding of the catholic leadership was rejection of spiritual discernment and abandonment of Christ's purpose.

What do you mean by this?
From the earlier posted text
"I protest that I differ from my adversaries with regard to the doctrine of the Lord's supper, and that I shall always differ from them. Christ said, 'This is My body.' Let them show me that a body is not a body. I reject reason, common sense, carnal arguments, and mathematical proofs. God is above mathematics. We have the word of God; we must adore and perform it."
"No consideration shall ever induce me to depart from the literal meaning of these words, and I shall not listen either to sense or reason, with the words of God before me."
Luther, in regards to the physical presence of Christ in the Eucharist

>He brought shame to the Church where none existed before.
Really? That is not what Pope Francis believed:
>I think that the intentions of Martin Luther were not mistaken. He was a reformer. Perhaps some methods were not correct. But in that time, if we read the story of the Pastor, a German Lutheran who then converted when he saw reality – he became Catholic – in that time, the Church was not exactly a model to imitate. There was corruption in the Church, there was worldliness, attachment to money, to power...and this he protested. Then he was intelligent and took some steps forward justifying, and because he did this. And today Lutherans and Catholics, Protestants, all of us agree on the doctrine of justification. On this point, which is very important, he did not err.
