It makes sense if you think about it. Like you're a cop. You want to infiltrate the leftists. Honestly I think Marx was kind of retarded and didn't understand America. There was a split between the Americans and German immigrants in the U.S. branch, with the Germans (and Marx backing them) kicking out the "Yankees" to follow a very strict European line but that didn't gain much support. One of the Yankees was Victoria Woodhull who was a feminist. Look up Frederic Sorge who was Marx's guy in America.
