>>7927950 It inspires me to continue the grind. Would I do the same just to be able to draw any other image itt? Definitely not. >>7927954 holy triggered
>>7928409 What's the error, I recall seeing it being redlined before, but I've clearly forgotten. Can't be too bad of a mistake if 99% of people aren't going to notice anything and think the image is good.
>>7928686 the rear spikes of the crown do not conform to the perspective set by the front of the crown. But you could argue this was a purposeful decision by the artist to angle the crown but still represent the rear spikes. Artists especially in the pasts make decisions like that all the time. If you have to break a rule to achieve what you want to present you're free to do so. But people in a hundred years whove never pinted anything worth looking at will call you beg and recommend draw a box
The original Ken Sugimori Gen 1 Pokemon illustrations and designs were so GOATed, and thinking over it as an adult made me realize how the series has really lost touch with that genius more than my own nostalgia. The limited GB screen space made for a need to emphasize only a few strong, prominent features emphasizing form over details, and the color pallet emphasizes values and contrast, using heavy highlights to give the simplistic figures depth without a need for heavy shadows (which would have limited the amount of "colors" a Pokemon could have on a black-and-white screen) while still reading as having a solid coloring that could easily be replicated.
It's genius in simplicity for character design that I'm blown away by and want to eventually replicate in my own work.
>>7927864 this is diarrhea dookie, go ahead and ejaclimate. let the post cum clarity settle in and realise your mistake worthy of a month's penance of embarrassment
>>7931224 >posters haven't been a thing at all since 2010s You're opinion isn't even worth considering when you say something this objectively retarded. Posters aren't a thing? Get the fuck outta here. It's fine to disagree, but to so blatantly lie to try and make your point is pathetic, my dude.
>>7932751 >"You have outdated references and lingo" >"go back to collecting stamps" Let me guess; old in age, but young in spirit? Try not to spit out your dentures as you yell while calling other people old.
>>7933030 >No No No, I called you old FIRST! I was pointing out your hypocrisy, but it seems your aged dull mind didn't pick up what I was putting down. Also, I don't give a shit that you did it first, you decrepit old boy.
>>7933084 Oh, you're one of those faggots who start vague posting when they get butt mad. I don't care how old or young you are, this is some of this most juvenile shit out there.
re24jp has a great understanding of space and basic shapes. i like how wobbly his lines are, i'd like my lines to be neater but it does show that they don't have to be super tidy for a piece to work well
>>7953550 if I had to find something negative to say it would be that it's not really effective at communicating that the girls are allegories for the times of day. I just don't see dawn or twilight in it at all. the figures and silks are great but the landscape backgrounds are just kinda there
>>7928013 the problem with that stuff isn't that it's coom, it's that it's disjointed. pretty much the bodies are too realistic for the faces or the faces are too stylized for the bodies. the airbrush shading also makes it look a bit amateurish. but I mean, I do understand this stuff works for people
>>7953781 >>7953809 I think they said he's the epitome of a boring academicist artist with nothing new to offer, just perfectionism of a system that many people grew bored of at the time. also people were tired of generic gooner coded art with barely plausible pretexts/themes
>>7953863 Morning lilies Birds on the branches across a plain in daylight Dusk, crescent in the sky, high tide Night, stars, owls, dark landscape
A lot of the artists I love have this loose style to their work, I've been trying to add that in my own work but I genuinely don't understand how a process like this works Like, I'm just so used to the sketch>lineart>color(>paintover) process I can't understand how some people work so loosely >>7953004 thanks for reminding me of this artist, I really love her flow just so inspiring
>>7955374 >>7942365 I know we're just talking art we like here but how many posters on /ic/ are -actually- inspired by old illustrators like Dorè? Like, I've never seen anyone post art or even studies that look like they want to make pieces similar to them
>>7958302 Yes, it's one of the few times I've seen a primary colour scheme be done in a way that does not look gaudy to me. The value contrast and composition also work very well. I can only dream of ever achieving this level haha
i like how this guy draws femboys. i do also love the ones that are super duper girly but this specific blend of masculine and feminine is also very hot to me
