>>7945358 It's not, pelvis doesn't point straight down like that in a standing split. This is why you study both pros you like AND do your own individual anatomy studies so you don't copy their blind spots.
>>7945358 t. Author of OP pic >>7945532 What this anon said. If your goal is studying anatomy instead of stylization of an artist that appeals to you, then your best resource is real life. If you don't understand why/if somebody is breaking anatomy, you might subconsciously pick up bad habits.
tl;dr The musculature of the legs is somewhat okay, but the pose itself is totally broken. I completely winged the pose and the pelvis makes very little sense.
>>7947269 Some OC. I'm not very picky over who I draw for so I get a lot of those. Indie v-tubers, too. They're really appreciative for the work so I enjoy doing it. Recent sketch of two of them that one requested.
>>7940470 >>7937827 That meat analogy, while not articulated in the most helpful way (arguably fitting though), stuck in my head for a while. I was looking at my paintings, and yeah, the transitions are coming in too hot, too harshly. It looks chiselled & wooden where it should not. I should be able to improve with a slight adjustment and some vigilance.
How come, in the vast history of humanity, there has not been a single professional resource on how to draw an erect cock or a dripping vulva??
There are no books, no paid drawing courses, no nothing. Even in the age of the Internet, no art instructor has ever set down an curriculum for erotic art or at least artistic-anatomical studies for the genitals.
No, I'm not counting deviant art fags producing a bunch of slides where you have to subscribe to their patron for 10 months to get access to them all. I'm taking about stuff that fits more than a Twitter post and that is intended to TEACH.
On one hand artists have been the greatest coomers insisting on drawing naked woman and naked old man down to every tendon. But when it comes to cock / balls / vulva / breasts (actual anatomical studies, not just lazy ass water balloon analogies!) / butts and to a certain extend feet (for those there are some resources, but not many), the art world suddenly has an collective blind spot. Sure, they will draw ugly shrivelled cocks and feminist cunts' cunts'; but they will never make an effort in making it look good or exploring it in any depth.
I want to understand cock/pussy/tits/ass(/feet) deeply, in all its functions and variations and dynamics, and I want to know how to composite it in scene, and I want to know all the different kinks and art styles there are. Why has nobody ever bothered to do this & put it down?? Are r18 artists just coomers who fried their own brain and taste and aspirations by too much porn consumption?? Why can't we have proper porn _art_ and must live in the shadows of obscurity?? Leonardo was not halted by the church disapproving of his research, and we have the feikking Internet, so why can't we have a proper school for erotic and pornographic art? Just because we fear VISA/Mastercard too much or does simply nobody care??
>>7947977 theres infinite amounts of porn showing cocks and pussies in every angle and doing every possible thing you could want to see my dude, what else do you need? >>7947427 love this, blog?
hello salt what muscle(s?) is this? my guess is the semitendinosus, but it looks significantly larger than id presume possible based on the surrounding muscles
>>7948942 >Getting enraged over others enjoying something kind of cringe >>7949094 >>seething this hard over someones art getting attention I'm not getting enraged over people enjoying shitty art lol. I was sure it was samefagging. Are you guys seriously incapable of following a simple train of thought? Acquire taste is just a forum meme. Taste isn't something that can be criticised.
>>7949214 >semitendinosus I'm no expert, but I don't think it's the semitendinosus because its insertion is at the tibia, the right side of the triangle at the knee looks more like the semitendinosus. I agree with >>7949291 and they're larger because they're being flexed the Adductor is responsible adding the legs to the body (putting them together and the Semimembranosus responsible for knee flexion
Seeing how you knew the name of the muscle you probably knew that and I should stop procrastinating and get to art.
>>7949484 it helps but I feel my problem is more fundamental than that, in terms of how the characters are stylized or the position or poses. I'll try at least putting down flats and see if it makes the short coming more clear to me.
>>7949490 How is this? I included the silhouette because it helps show poses clearly. When drawing characters, it’s important that people can understand the pose quickly. I use the silhouette technique to check if the pose reads well, stands out, and feels expressive
>>7949490 Your non action stuff is stiff af. It seems like you are unable to convey subtle eroticism, and you are too fixated on details instead of looking at the artwork as a whole. Also, it doesn't help that you picked a staight frontal view. >>7949572 What this anon said.
>>7949572 >>7949484 >>7949471 Fix the feet.... I BEG YOU! Also the closer they are the more intimate, while the Cheekie's pose backed them away for a more playful. Both are fine but it depends on what portray. PLEASE FIX THE FEET!!! Well you also need to 'ground' your characters.
>>7949291 >>7949297 >Seeing how you knew the name of the muscle you probably knew that i just had a few anatomy diagrams, the main one i got focused on didnt include the hamstrings at all >and I should stop procrastinating and get to art probably
hey, I really appreciate you taking the time. This makes a lot of sense in terms compositions, it really does make the interaction more interesting visually, but I feel proximity is still important to show intimacy, in the sense that she is invading his personal space. I might try redrawing the pose to see if I can find someways to balance that.
>>7949605 when you said straight frontal view do you mean like from a camera framing perspective where it is mostly leveled on the eye-level of the character?
>>7949820 >when you said straight frontal view do you mean like from a camera framing perspective where it is mostly leveled on the eye-level of the character? Yes. You should push the perspective more. Either move the pov higher or lower.

>>7951122 >>7951118 if you mean with the soft round brush i dont wanna do that. i know its easier but im challenging myself to render with only the hard round brush. i know for a fact smooth rendering with hard round is possible and i wanna be able to do so

>>7950119 I really appreciate the help. although if I were to push the perspective like >>7950076 said I'll probably want to start consider an actual background. Some of the issue with a more dramatic perspective is that you need to compromise on what you can actually show. This drawing was constructed from a fairly abstract descriptions in my head so i really struggle with coming up with more coherent composition because I honestly have no image in my head until gesture has been lay down. One of the issue was that i had trouble setting down with redhead's facial features and expressions so I kept changing it but never arrived at a satisfactory solution. I tried drawing the character again to see if I can create a design I like but I ended up with other problem with the figures...
>>7951908 I started and finished an unrelated drawings in pretty equivalent time, about 6 hours, but because I have pretty strong image in my head I thought the process went more smoothly.
>>7951709 I use a custom brush that I made myself and CSP's default smooth watercolor brush to blend edges My custom brush is the most basic hard round brush you could possibly think of. I made it from CSP's default rough eraser with blending mode set to normal instead of erase
Besides those two, I use a few other texture brushes but those are just for minor touchups once the image is 90% done or minor background elements
>>7952451 First off, I exported my illustration in png with transparency, one with the highlights cut out, and another with only the later. Imported those on blender (I recommend you to use the 2d animation configuration at the start instead of the regular one for better color accuracy with your illustration, idk why). Put one behind the other. Make the highlights emit light. Added 2 extra lights behind the hair for extra glare, play with the compositor nodes and voila. Next time I'll use the grease pencil to add more details instead of going back and forth between Krita and Blender. Here's the tutorials I mostly used: https://youtu.be/RSkk5MDmfz0 For the glare effect in recent versions: https://youtu.be/rZGnAoRqxVE
>>7951908 It is great you are actively tackling perspective. Most people avoid it because it is tough.
I recommend focusing on one thing at a time. If your goal is to nail dynamic character poses, I wouldn't stress over the background, composition, or facial details right now. Trying to figure it all out at once is just going to overwhelm you.
For tricky angles and foreshortening, 3D models are a lifesaver. You can use website like Sketchfab to find figures to rotate and use as direct references. Posing apps are really good for this too. you got this anon :)
>>7952557 Sketchfab actually has a ton of decent figure models for practicing poses and perspective studies. Not many people here seem to know about it, so I figured I’d mention it. One really useful thing is that you can freely rotate the models and view them, which helps a lot for foreshortening and camera heavy poses.
>>7952809 Not retarded, I guess you don't know what you don't know. You're too sloppy with your pen when shaping the shadow. In your soft shaded version, I can see the lack of control in your shapes and forms (see the shapes of the highlights you added and the way you've tried to carve out the form shadows on the boobs in your first post). Its overall too careless to give you anything clean and confident looking.
>This is my direct technical fix Control your pen better. (This might be useless If you're a SAI user) - You can line quite well, but you need better pressure control on opacity also for this to work >this one time, yes, it is a brush thing. My pen has 2048 pressure levels, yours might have more or less, and it will make a difference, but if able, you'll need to tweak your opacity pressure curve to help increase your control of the gradation/blending using pen pressure instead of trying to manually shape out each band . Ill post my pressure curve in a reply to this post for anyone it might help.
You also might want to adjust the thickness (how elipsed/oval it is) and angle of your brush too to shade awkward forms
>do put some time into form, shape and colour fundies : Youre obviously not complete beg with your lines, so for rendering, be just as selective and mindful with how you shape things as you are with your lines. They're all part of the image, not just separate pieces in your process.
>>7953162 >>7953167 god damn thats an eye opener, cheers for the breakdown i appreciate it. was def carving out forms like an oaf before but your way makes much more sense. im in krita btw, i have csp but i usually stick with krita since i do my animating there as well >>7953200 i just like the look of it and dont like using a ton of different brushes, aka autism. good stuff btw, saved
>>7953382 here is a shading practice using hard round brush... but personally I still think having watercolor brush that controls flow that causes color mixing still easier than opacity alone.
the other anon talk about control but personally while I think it affects how efficient someone can complete this type of shading, it doesn't tell you how the hue and saturation is suppose to distribute in this type of skin tones. I know of at least two twitter artist that is a master of it and spent like an entire afternoon trying to find them to use as reference but I just couldn't find them.
>>7953382 NW. I used Krita once years ago, pretty sure they have pressure curves if you want to simulate the brush. Cant really help you there, it's meant to release higher opacity a bit later so you can use the low opacity on it a bit longer... hard to describe. I will say that I normally use the left boob rendering technique of the vidrel from before a lot more than the right boob rendering techinique (which is occasionally faster, as magi said).
In any case, I wasnt exactly sure what finish/style you're aiming for, so you should either experiment with the different techniques people have given or give some reference for what you want exactly if you want more specific help.
There's just no "proper" way to hard-round-brush-render afaik, it's just a tool you use to achieve your chosen aesthetic. Good Luck
>>7931381 So, I've been drawing this specific pose, but I'm struggling to get the area around the neck and the shoulders. Plus, I want feedback on how I did the anatomy so far. I've literally been drawing without a reference, but now I think I need one. How can I look for a reference for the pose I'm trying to make here? I don't even know the proper words to describe this pose to search it on Google.
I've hit a wall when it comes to picrel. Is there some sort of consolidated resource to figure out what all the lines and depressions and planes in picrel are? A collection of 3d models with everything I'd ever need to know to draw butts and hips and thighs and pussies? The lines currently look really arbitrary or too much to remember.
>>7954622 It's good to have a passing knowledge of muscles and bones. Nothing too crazy, just enough to remember specific contours on the body. It helps cement stuff in your head when you study from reference as well, knowing the form underneath the skin.
You only need to emphasize them if you have no other indicators for the form. For example the middle image goes overboard with the contours (the line for the glutes is so prominent it's unnatural) and would just be better conveyed through the rendering. On the other hand having no lines would make it look flat, especially without any rendering/shading like picrel. But honestly conveying form through as few lines as possible will always end up appealing (and if it doesn't you can get away with saying it's just muh style).
>>7955665 there's always /draw/. the skill level and appeal varies but you'll get way more useful albeit infrequent crit than from /beg/. really anything is better than /beg/
>>7931381 I'm wondering if anyone here is either old enough or knowledgeable enough about Japanese Hentai to let me know some good Japanse Hentai artists or doujins from 90s or 00s. I think how Japan used to draw moe anime girls back in the day is incredibly hot and want to actually copy and study them.
>>7955741 >@cycleoftorment is this spelled with any numbers? i found cycle0ftorment but other than that i cant seem to find anything thats an actual art blog
For almost a year ive been gaining my life doing nsfw commissions, but that almost killed my love for drawing, i love my customers but i got so tired of doing futas all the time, and if i liked the characters, sometimes the context, pose or details i was asked for, killed my motivation for the piece. Until one day i tought i can try a suscription plataform, where i can draw wathever i want and finally make doujins, also i will have time for finally practice anatomy again, bc with the comms i didnt had time for nothing else, and have money saved to do this. Was a good experience and phase of my drawing journey, that give me the confidence of achieving the possibility of living my life doing art, now i have a new goal, very hard to achieve but idk :3 thats my story des
