absurd regulations. you couldn't build them in london until like 25 years ago.
>>
because we have old town centers and skyscrapers wouldnt fit in and look stupid. We have skyscrapers in Europe but they have a bad reputation because they were built as commie blocks in eastern Europe, they are grey and look brutal.

But skyscrapers can look pretty cool with the right paintjob and setting. Like in Brazil Curitiba those skyscrapers look nice, with palms in front and the sun is shining. But in most parts of Europe skyscrapers simply dont fit into the landscape , it would look stupid and abnormal

ignoring the fact that they look like shit, they have to adpt modern with old, not an easy task so they build them small when they have to.

1) Regulations and preservation of the old cities
2) High density urban housing still exists but they just aren't as tall
3) they mainly look like shit
4) they are often partly empty and unused

>beautiful dacha-esque cabin houses all around it

Now I know where all the Gazprom bureaucrats in that village might live, @Ukraine target this

The city is growing, so they've probably hoped it will become a new remote developed district, idk.

My general impression is that people really don't like skyscrapers here. Personally I find them cool. We almost got one but it is 5 meters short of what is generally accepted as a skyscraper. You can see it in the very beginning of this video:

That's elegant, we should have used it back in the days.

Vancouver is an ugly drug addled shithole. The whole cope of the city is the mountains in the background and you can't even see the mountains now with the condo buildings.

The housing crisis all over Europe would be fixed immediately if they lifted a fuckton of regulations and just built a bunch of buildings
