The biggest difference between Western Europeans and East Asians is individualism vs. collectivism.
Let's take two extremes: Japan and Italy. In Italy, everyone thinks only of themselves and no one cares about the consequences of their actions on others. While in Japan, an individual is primarily a member of society and an individual second. This is why in Japan, there are so many suicides among people unable to integrate into society, or hikikomoris who self-exile because they can't stand the socialpressure. Meanwhile, in Italy, gangs of kids can literally kill you without a second thought for what they perceive as disrespect, a lack of value for the lives of others.

This is a rather silly thought but something that I've considered for a while - in the West boybands eventually die due to the egos involved and the best singer(s) wanting to go solo, but in Asia these seem to survive for absolute ages and it's only when all the members agree to quit that the boyband comes to an end
