Chinese Y-9GX-18 gunship spotted
For the first time ever the Chinese are attempting to make a CAS gunship like the AC-130
Are they planning to use it on Indians in the Himalayas?

>gunship
The image is too poor quality to make out what is going on with the left side of the fuselage. Could just be sensors.
>>
they're probably planning on selling it to retard thirdies. the ac-130 gunship is a hilariously dated idea and we only ever use them when were 100% certain theres no anti-air, which as we know now is basically never. i think the last time the US deployed one was the battle of kasham in 2018

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6Ii45jxsLE

and it was obviously fucking based
>>

They'll need that in their new muslim and siberian provinces. Good planning.

>>
>>65077904
They're probably practicing Maduro-type decapitation raids. Raid support not COIN, that is the most useful use of these things. Preparing to light up Myanmar or Laos or Bhutan presidential palace at midnight.
>>
>>65078062
Oh man seeing the Chicoms try a Temu Venezuela raid would be funny.
>>
>>65077904
You know what? Good for China. Unlike all the other fag militaries of the world that buy lame shit China is now one step closer to achieving parity with the US for cool planes. Now all they need is a A-10 clone and a Rivet Joint clone and they'll be a worthy rival
>>
>>65077942
AC-130 is more niche than dated: in contested airspace, even armed helos or dusters like the Super Tucano would probably be able to give it a run for its money, but when you need high-caliber direct fire on a ceiling, accept no substitutes.
>>
>>65078011
China famously can't feed itself. In recent years they've illegally setup logging/farming operations in Siberia and Uzbekistan.
>>
>>65077942
To be fair, retard thirdies don't fight people decent anti air capabilities

What's the point of this thing?

The border with India or fucking with ships/tiny islands in the south china sea is the only real thing I can think of.

It's not useful in a peer conflict against Taiwan.

I'm sure it'll look cool at flying demonstrations and might even be a good seller on the export market, but I don't see the strategic value beyond that.

Taiwan has one of the most densely layered surface to air missile systems in the world. With both radar guided and IR guided options.

Considering we know from recent reporting that the J-20 IR stealth is dogshit because the engines run hot as fuck, so they're particularly vulnerable to longer range IR seekers and aren't exactly going to be able to just fly over Taiwan with impunity.

If a J-20 can't do it, a Y-9 sure as shit can't.
>>
>>65079974
>Taiwan has one of the most densely layered surface to air missile systems in the world. With both radar guided and IR guided options.
That is true but Im sure the chinks have a gorrilion shitty drones to throw at those air defense.
In adition to those alleged coverted drone J-6 and J-7s
>>
>>65079988
Yes and Taiwan has been doing the same, antidrone systems and their own drone swarms.

Also tons of the Taiwanese systems are mobile, and in many cases kept in secure underground locations that can be moved out into the open at short notice.

IE, even if China magically could send a drone swarm that hit EVERY SINGLE active anti air missile site in Taiwan, within 10-15 minutes you'd have hundreds more being deployed from their storage bunkers.

And China can't magically manage the first step of that plan anyway, so it's a moot point.

China has no real viable path to a day 1 (or even week 1) victory in Taiwan unless they get Taiwan to surrender peacefully and all regional allies and the US allow it to happen.
>>
>>65079995
>storage bunkers
remind me how those went for iran? the chinese have bunker buster weapons just like the us
>>
>>65080247
anon... that only works AFTER you own the skies.

You're basically just pretending they'll 100% wipe out all of Taiwans air defense systems with impunity, then just walk in and blow up all their hidden bunkers, because clearly they also know where 100% of those are located with exact precision.

It's delusional.

Even the US admits they can't tell you the location for ~1/3rd of iranian missile stocks. And i'm supposed to believe china knows with 100% certainty where ALL of taiwans shit is?

And again, we're still assuming all of chinas shit works perfectly, and all of taiwans shit fails spectacularly.

That's not exactly the best assumption to make for this kind of conflict.
>>
>>65080258
>they also know where 100% of those are located with exact precision
most likely. chankoros have their very own spy satellites
>taiwans shit fails spectacularly
chankoro strategy relies heavily on spamming hordes of drones (including drone conversions of old airframes like picrel), dumb rockets and missiles which beats any and all air defense systems, see the iron dome or those destroyed thaads that were layered with patriot systems
sufficient quantity beats quality
>>
>>65080293
Yes anon, and taiwan knows that's their plan, do you really think they're dumb faggots who are just going to do EXACTLY what china wants them to do?

There is ZERO reality where what you're describing could happen, it's a CCP wet dream that even most party loyalists know is just a lie they tell to sell the CCP dream of a reunified china.

Your entire argument seems to boil down to "well i guess taiwan just has to sit there and let china kill them".
>>
>>65077904
>use it on Indians in the Himalayas?

That would be fucking kino!

Make it happen Xi!
>>
>>65077904
>Are they planning to use it on Indians
... and if so, how can the American public assist them?
>>
>>65080297
>and taiwan knows their plan
they sure as hell do, they are emergency rushing the acquisition of 102 patriot batteries. even the kuomintang itself is in the mainland trying to calm the waters
>There is ZERO reality what you're describing could happen
happened in iran, nagorno-karabaj (an-2s were converted into suicide drones and then loaded with explosives to reveal the locations of ad and then destroy them with missiles), ukraine's cessnas, among others. there is no reason besides pig-headed unwillingness to think it wouldn't happen or would have a different outcome
>taiwan has to sit there and let china kill them
taiwan's war plan is to literally sit there and try to hold on againt invading forces until "international support" (aka the us) comes to its rescue
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porcupine_strategy
>but south korea
can't afford to divert its limited human resources from the border with north korea
>but japan
will literally get nuked
>>
>>65080318
Lol okay well you're clearly living in an alternate reality if that's what you think would happen in a theoretical hot war in taiwan.

You're a delusional chink, or a retard that bought their CCP propaganda that most of their own party doesn't even buy.

Something like 85-90% of chinese people agree reunification is a good thing, but similarly like 80-90% of chinese people DON'T think an actual war is the correct way to do it.

There is simply no wide public support for a hot war against taiwan, and there never will be.

The reunification ideal/vision is still being kept alive, but the idea of a military invasion is mostly just a political fantasy that helps the CCP keep up the strongman look for domestic appeal from the nationalists.

It's frankly a similar story for the west, most real analysts don't think the chinese military is ACTUALLY preparing to invade taiwan, if they were they would've gotten real battlefield experience in india/africa/middle east over the last 10-20 years, and instead they've avoided EVERY chance to intervene militarily in any regional/local conflicts across their sphere of influence.
>>
>>65080338
>90% of chinese people DON'T think an actual war is the correct way to do it
>don't think the chinese military ACTUALLY preparing to invade taiwan
which is why they keep pushing them gaynigger peaceful reunion and dual political systems
>real battlefield experience
russia undeniably has a lot of it dating back to the soviet union and it's getting its ass kicked big time
in case you didn't know, taiwan doesn't have battlefield experience either
>but training with the west
jeets do that too
>>
>>65080318
The real problem is your timeline, you seem to think china can coordinate a day 1 strike that consists of 10's of thousands of drones/planes, it's just not logistically realistic to assume they can pull that off, even with months or years or preplanning/prep.
Especially in the PLAN which is known for institutional graft/corruption at all levels.
If you've got guys siphoning fuel from rockets and replacing it with water, how the fuck are you going to manage a multi-year pre-planned all-out strike against a near-peer threat?
Swarm attacks can work, but coordinating that swam attack isn't as simply as you seem to think.
>>
>>65079162
>be over within days
>>
>>65080356
>dual political systems
qrd?
>>
>>65080363
basically the mainland is ruled by the ccp and taiwan is ruled by a democracy independent from the ccp but cooperates with it
literally the same as hong kong until the ccp was "voted" into power
>>
>>65080357
>10's of thousands of drones
they can surely coordinate like 2000 at a time which i'd bet it's enough to put any ad system into big stress
>>
>>65080399
Sure, it'll stress a system, but it doesn't take it offline all at once and the moment your first swarm attack starts, all regional allies will be surging their air forces and navy into action.

The only way you take taiwan is if you can actually topple the military/government before anyone else can get assets into the region.

That's just not possible without some sort of massive all out attack that allows china to start landing ground forces within the first hour or two. Any longer than that and you'll be trying to land troops with F-35s and F-22s flying overhead.
>>
>>65077904
>posts gunship
>open image
>no guns
>>
>>65078094
It would be telling, that's for sure. An actual test of their combat capabilities, with some of their best, would tell us a lot about how much of the handwringing here stateside has been justified.
>>
>>65077942
>so far they are probably planning on selling it to the retarded thirdies
The RETARDED THIRDIES are the key words here anon, thirdie loves watching American air force blow the shit out of other thirdie with 3 guns on one air plane. Thirdie hates America because they want to be America, not how its controlled by "le ZOG" but how they could pulled the coolest shit out while suffers less. So they would want this plane with the fraction of its costs, they don't care if it doesn't blow the fuck up while flying, they need to grind for their self-esteem first

We're mostly laughing at it, also laughing at the idea of china thinking they have a real use for a system like this.
>>
>>65079995
But they dont have to hit anything tho.
The chinks only need Taiwan to expend their expensive and irreplaceble missiles on expandable and replacable drones
Something we see happening in current conflicts
>>65080666
Is it tho? If we actualy discussed anything on this board we might actualy reach this conclusion
It looks similar, so does the ak and mp44. Drasticaly diferent internals
If any retard actualy read the slop article op posted they would know nobody actualy knows if this is a gunship or not. Just a picture of with a pixelated side was seen. My bet is its some sort of eletroc warfare platform i doubt the chinks would see much value in gunplatform
>>
>>65080407
If the chinks were competent, they'd start with locally launched drones attacking Taiwanese ad systems, radars, and military targets. I think I'd also expect to see hybrid warfare like cable cutting to sow confusion. Then hypersonic launches that wouldn't give roc or it's allies time to respond.
But this is all theoretical since you'd see the build up of troops and supplies well before Xi presses the button and starts shit off. Everyone would be moving shit around as soon as they saw thousands of pla troops being assembled

There is simply no quick and clean way to decapitate taiwan.
>>
>>65080684
What is there that you want to discuss? The grainy pic from 1000 miles away? The long list of Chang's "confirmed" features? These threads are full of nationalistic dick wagging because they are a nationalistic dick wagging thread. Or do you have some hot take on the speculative capabilities of a plane produced in bespoke numbers that will lay bare the West's weaknesses and usher in the 1000 year empire of the Jade Dragon? But yeah man these goddamn Americans on the weapons board taking the piss out of the latest literally who, posting a pic of a literally what with a laundry list of possible abilities; what a goddamned travesty.
>>
>>65080686
Presumably the people located in Beijing who make these decisions would have some insight on that. I realize you are now just going to say "oh but they are stupid, corrupt, and evil, so their insight is wrong, I don't know how but I feel it in my gut", and you're entitled to those feelings but wouldn't it be more interesting to assume there's a rational explanation and go from there? Assuming everything done outside of the USA is done because of stupidity and depravity is so boring it's exhausting just to think about your mentality
>>
>>65080700
See >>65080701
What do you get out of this? Yeah yeah yeah America #1 and China stupid and evil. What did you gain from typing that out? Is it interesting to you? Like is this a sports team rivalry or something?
>>
>>65080701
The american system they're copying is the only thing we ACTUALLY have any details on.

Unless you wanna drop some classified details about the Y-9 gunship chang, shut the fuck up and accept we're going to discuss the american version.
>>
>>65080664
Why are you so butthurt, chinkshill?
>>
>>65080715
It's a gun stapled to an airplane, what classified details would there even be? You've been arguing that it serves no purpose other than "nationalist dick wagging" but all you are doing is nationalist dick wagging. Simplest explanation always works best (there is a strategic purpose and probably more than one expected use case) but somehow "everything is an inversion of my own values and they're doing it for no reason" seems to be more emotionally fulfilling for you.
>>
>>65080721

Maybe I was wrong and you just aren't using a translator. You should though since English is clearly not your strong point. Here, I'll help you out, white man's burden and all that, my point of contention was over comprehension as nowhere did I imply this was your thread. Rather, I maintain that the only relevant piece of media remains a blurry useless photo that doesn't show, or even imply, capabilities beyond your head canon. So in the interest of sparking your much sought after dialog I'll go ahead and start with what I think the capabilities are. Private Zhou used an angle grinder to cut a hole in the side so he could stick his rifle out. Now you, what do you think the Chinese maybe AC-130 alike can do?
>>
>>65078624
I've noticed in broadcasts and casual speech alike, the mainland Chinese absolutely NEVER use loanwords (aside from some Japanese backflow they're obvlivious to). I assume it has something nominally to do with "countering cultural imperialism" or some shit.
Even America-haters use some kind of English loanwords on occasion for convenience. Loanwords from neighbors too, of course. Mainland Chinese? Never.
