Saw a group use thermals and full auto for a night boar hunt. Death to the boar menace (it was not that effective, btw). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAu9Qfhocxo

I have a RH25v2 and a thermal drone that I use for hunting. I use the rh25 as a monocular and the drone for scouting game. It’s definitely a game changer.
I haven’t weapon mounted the thermal because I live in California so what I’m doing is illegal but idgaf honestly. It’s not like I’m poaching the animals, I still just get 2 deer tags per year. I don’t have the time to drive 4 hours away to scout out multiple locations. If I’m lucky i can get out there once or twice before the start of a season and I’m not going to leave stuff up to chance.

this is not correct. Commiefornia has some lame "sniper scope" restriction but law states the scope is illegal if it emits a beam to designate or illuminate the target, thermals are passive, so mounting to weapon is not illegal. If you used a night vision scope with IR illumator that would be illegal as it meets muh sniper scope defition, and I think that is what the retarded politicians were trying to ban, but any magnifying scope makes it easier to see at night because of the additional light collection and magnification and any scope with a light or laser that you can see through the scope could be claimed by any retarded cop, warden, DA to meet the definition of a sniper scope even if you use it during the day. Is it a sniper scope if the laser is separate from the scope and attached to a different part of the rifle or hands gun? I am not aware of any specific hunting limits regarding game/non-game animals at night as I do not hunt. I believe several counties allow night hunting of cyotes. So, passive thermals are/should be legal as they do not emit anything and do meet the definition of sniper scope. These f*cked laws are vaguely written so the definitions can be re-interpreted by any commies to go after people. And, never admit online you know something is illegal, many laws state ...."who knowlingly...." so if you don't know you do not have intent to violate....not an attorney.
