Listen I love watches, I think they look cool and some of them have a cool story behind them but for the love of God you're not impressing anyone and you look like a dipshit thinking you are.

>$700 gun
>$500 knife
>$1000 watch
>$3999
Reminds me of when I'd check out outfitter stores in touristy areas and they've got stuff like Condor machetes and Kershaw pocket knives marked with their own branding for a zillion dollars.

The definition of "performative male" seems to have moved a bit, last I heard it meant pansexual men with bangs and a mullet, who drink matcha lattes, and like to read books in public where people will see them reading (preferably by feminist authors). Now it's just an average andrew tate fan?

>All watches are performative
Yeah I wear my $30 G-SHOCK to impress people.

Exactly what >>65081863 said. I'd guess the appeal of something like this is trying to sell an "image" or "personality" to someone that makes over 100k a year.

No. Franklin TN is probably the worst place in the entire state to walk into a LGS and purchase something due to stuff like this. A lot of the instore stock really just doesn't seem to be a practical purchase for most and honestly is what turned me away from buying at LGS altogether.

nta but yeah, that's how this shit works. Lots of public figures will do that. Wear a cheap Casio to show they're a regular guy. Bill Gates does it. Zohran Mamdani. Wearing something cheap to show you're not one of those shallow Rolex guys is still signaling. In fact it's pretty rare to see a public figure with a middling watch. It's either something quite nice associated with well off people, like a Rolex or better, or it's something performatively cheap like a Casio or Timex.
Try to find me a head of state or similar high status person wearing a Tissot, for example. Or a Maurice Lacroix. Or a Michal Kors or Invicta. Those would be genuinely something Joe Sixpack or his wife would wear. Nah it's never that, it's either I'm a real honest workman look at my Carhartt and G-Shock, or it's something that costs more than a decent car.

Also nta but nah. Being aware of group signaling behavior is not something zoomers invented. The very fact that you're getting mad about this shows that you pay a lot of attention. Wanting to be perceived as not being "into fashion" is still fashion. There is no escape, sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Is that a normal size gun and knife next to a really tiny pair for ants or is it a normal gun and knife next to a really big pair for giants?
