Im not even fucking kidding. If you look even briefly into the roots of psychology and mental wards it was always about silhoning off a thin veneer of legitimacy from "science" in order to make an avenue for a legal and unquestionable method of unpersoning troublemakers.
SOME good came out of it in cases of ppl with genuinely crossed wired but 90% of it is a sham.
Example: In the past the mentally healthy state of a negro was deemed to be that of an eager and obedient slave. There was an official form for diagnosing black slaves with insanity if anyone of them ever thought of themselves on par with a free man.
