No one told me "it's okay to try new things, they'll have different and fun takes on the genre" when I was a kid. Think the only actual good reason to have skipped them was if the 2000s dubs sucked ass (I went between some of the Seed dubs when I eventually watched it, some seemed acceptable but one was a lot better than the other). To this day most English dubs will sound a little bit cartoonish to me, it's usually going to come across as "westerners dubbing a cartoon" whereas the authentic nihon voicelines folded a thousand times will just come across the way it's supposed to, because their delivery is essentially that of actual actors
