The Japs like Garrod and Tiffa as a couple, at least.

GWX as a whole get a lot of love for being the 90's AU trio that formed the core of the Gundam experience of that era (they also still get a decent amount of love in the US, which is a market that Bandai ignores at their own peril). Not only did the episodes air back to back to back for those three years back when Sunrise was trying to pretend it was doing Super Sentai, they're also tonally completely different from the two Tomino works that come on either end, while any other OVAs that hit at the time were UC. SEED itself is a completely different monster, and each AU work after is treated individually.
If there's a redheaded stepchild of the franchise, it's G-Saviour, which gets ignored at every possible turn. Victory also kind of comes close since it's a Tomino AU from his depression era, it's treated wholly differently from Turn A and G-Reco but at least it still gets Gunpla love. There's also a few others that are ignored like Gunpla Builders Beginning G, Twilight Axis and Gundam Build Metaverse, partly due to how short they are. Even Gundam Evolve still gets love occasionally since Bandai still regularly reprints the Grand Slam sword that the Strike used in its Matrix short.

I can only assume it's similar to Judau's voice actor, smoked a lot, plus Garrod feels like a hard voice to do with age. He was still good enough back in Z, but his voice got notably worse in Z3 and by Crossrays it was wrecked.

>Victory also kind of comes close since it's a Tomino AU from his depression era,
Victory's not an AU. Yes, there's so little continuity baggage with the previous setting that it might as well be AU but it's not, it's UC

Some actors smoke because they like the effect it has on their voice. Of course the downside to that is that smoking can and usually does damage your vocal cords. Al Pacino, his voice has been damaged from years of smoking, to the point that he got his understudy to voice Tony Montana for the Scarface video game

It is complete, anon. Yes it got canned and they had to wrap things up early and they couldn't include EVERYTHING they wanted to include. But the show's creators maintain that it IS finished, they basically told the story they wanted to tell
>>
>>23806342
Uh, no it didn't get canned. Everything that was airing in the block it was showing at got moved to ungodly hours (anime and tokusatsu). Rather than suffer through two more cour, they wrapped it up in one given the shit block they got moved to. It was doing just find until then. I think Zeonic or Mark translated the Takamatsu interview where he discusses all that.

The interviews explain that the show got cancelled, but the staff doesn't want to call it a cancellation because of some bullshit mental gymnastics. If the shit that happened to X happened to any other show, everyone would be saying it got cancelled, but X's staff and most mentally ill fanboys utterly refuse to accept the reality that it got cancelled.

>This is the first time I have been on /m/ since 2025
Least believable DXschizo lie, you're pretty much the only person here who insists X totally wasn't cancelled and gets assblasted when told otherwise. You even brought up the same 5 cancelled shows of your usual "X wasn't cancelled" cope.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>23809819
Not that anon, but although there was a expectation the show would run for a full year, Sunrise had never actually secured that full year timeslot, which is why it got moved in the first place and then finished. It's why the staff insists t wasn't cancelled. Cancelled would mean they had actually secured a full year timeslot but replaced it with something else due to its performance, not just them extending its secured broadcast timeslot. Compare with the original Gundam which got it's run shortened then was replaced by Trider G7, another Sunrise anime since they already had that timeslot. In X's case there was the inital expectation even from the staff they'd have a full year since previous series had it, but the timeslot hadn't actually been secured.

Gundam x was garbage and 30 years has done nothing to change that. I watched a single episode and was so bored I didn't even rewind the tape before returning it to the videostore. It is responsible for giving us the goat freedom gundam so at least the beta test bore some fruit in the end...

I second this. X had crappy reoccurring enemies, story, upgrades, etc. If anyone things the old early 80s/late 79s super robot shows are bad, no.
Just no. X is uninspired slop with bad design, sound, anime, plot, and progression. Majestic Prince and Zegapain aren't as bad.

Did you really just make a brand new schizo edit, DuelX? Also, if you're willing to suck X off because its director because "saved" Wing, then you logically should be sucking SEED Destiny off as well since its director saved the franchise.
>>
>>23813831
you are so stupid
the comment I replied to was larping as Seed's director using his comment about X. I was reminding you about how shitty the Seed's director was
also Turn A was well-received in Japan. Gundam wasn't dying. Seed just brought the fujos and yaois to increase the fanbase size

>the comment I replied to was larping as Seed's director using his comment about X. I was reminding you about how shitty the Seed's director was
Yes, you're a seething schizo, I get that.
>Turn A was well-received in Japan
And? It had poor ratings and it didn't sell shit. Hardcore fans might've liked it but its performance was certainly not helping the franchise.
>>
>>
>>23813842
How did Turn A get a high budget if X was a failure?
>if Turn A was a failure, why did it get a full 50 episodes?
Because Turn A wasn't really a commercial show intended to make lots of money, it was made as a favor for Tomino, who has way more clout than X's director because he's literally the creator of the franchise. Sunrise and Bandai were willing to give him 50 episodes regardless of how well the show did because it was basically a gift made to personally appease him.
The reason why SEED got a high budget was because Sunrise and Bandai went all in on their attempt to revitalize the franchise since its numbers had went down significantly throughout the 90s.

Endless Waltz is just an OVA, not a year-long TV show. But even if you disregard that, we can just ask this sort of question again just to piss you off again: How did Endless Waltz get a high budget if X was a failure?

Are you saying they didn't? And not to him, his wife. It was all revamped.
>>
>>23814037
It's not just Eternal that says that. It's outright shown in the episode where Garrod destroys the Colony Laser. He fires a warning shot, and the SRA troops say the X would need time for another shot, but then he just fires another warning shot. And then after getting Tiffa back he fires a third shot and blows up the colony laser. All in a single charge.
But, yeah, most games ignores this. Cross Rays was the first time I saw the Double X firing multiple shots without recharging referenced in a game.
>>
>>23813842
>if Turn A was a failure, why did it get a full 50 episodes?
Because it ran on cable.
>>23813867
>How did Endless Waltz get a high budget if X was a failure?
Because Endless Waltz was made off the back of Wing's success

Regarding Gundam's money, Turn-A came alongside the MiA, First Grade and HGUC lines, overall that year was actually really high for Gundam in the 90s even though Turn-A itself didn't perform well.

Why is nearly every single Gundam X thread like this? This isn't some extremely controversial or notorious anime yet every time I poke my head in to see what people are talking about it's nothing but endless shitflinging and schizophrenia.
>>
>>23815490
A schizo who makes spam threads about X (usually the DX specifically) popped up a few years ago and, although he doesn't make threads as often now, he's pretty much decided to take over all X discussion in the board, poorly hiding his attempts at samefagging and constantly switching his schizo narrative between claiming everyone who calls him out is the same X hater boogeyman and the whole /m/ board somehow having a vendetta against X. This being 4chan, trolling towards this schizo was bound to happen, and since he's too autistic to back off or at least not make his presence known, X discussion here is pretty much ruined until the day he dies I guess.
