I'll be honest, I still don't know what those are. I joined one panel a few hours into the con, and Purp kept saying "the poll is open now!" but I didn't see any polls (I was expecting it to show up below the chat box as usual on Cytube, but there was nothing there). Everybody kept talking about achievements and unlocking emotes, but I didn't know what achievements were, and when I opened the emote box, it just looked the way it always does. There were three pictures of ponies at the top of the screen with numbers, but I didn't know what they represented. I felt like I'd walked into the middle of something. I got annoyed after a while and just sat out the rest of the con desu. It occurs to me now my browser was probably blocking popups with the polls in them or other information. I didn't see (or hear) anything like that. Oh well. And to be fair it's not like I went looking for information. I figured if I had to do homework to understand what was going on, I'd rather just go do something else with my weekend.

I'm always a fan of all the drawing streams. It's nice to have something relaxing like those on as I work. Makes me wish I had more to say in their chat, aside from the empty encouragement and emote spam I provide. The 'letter to Hasbro'/Calligraphy anon panel was a particular highlight for me this year.
Liveleak anon and the Bonzipony panel were also quite fun, if disorganized and chaotic. I know the bonzipony one was more so a showcase, but I think you could base a panel off a pony chatbot interacting with the chat/thread.

There's a cut at the 42:38 mark: I was changing OBS settings to make the stream run smoother, which necessitated stopping both the live broadcast and my recording. From what I did manage to record, approximately 2 minutes and 40 seconds have been losslessly cut out to avoid dead air and make the transition between "it's over" and "we're so back" as smooth as possible.
If you require the raw recordings (as fragmented as they get around that cut), I can provide them.
I would be greatly interested in chat recordings, as I had no view of CyTube for the first 20 minutes.

I have like a little stand that bends that I put my Ipad on to record them but lighting has frequently been an issue where I want to paint and it's dark and my lights are not terribly bright. As the guy who really pushed the Mare Doom host on this, I have to say I’m glad you guys liked it.
I did it because I’ve always felt that anything related to multiplayer gaming with ponies and anons isn’t explored enough at these conventions, and that’s a shame because it’s wasted potential.
There are many weekly gaming sessions on this board, including entire generals dedicated to them, that could host game sessions or panels where anyone can join and play, attracting many more players than usual and raising awareness of these mods/games.
Not only is there DOOM, which is played weekly (we’re playing this Saturday! >>43147224), but Unreal Tournament 2004 also has an /mlp/ server (which we play every Sunday) and supports up to 32 players.
There’s also the /mlp/ server for SRB2 Kart, with various pony skins including /mlp/ OC skins, it’s really cool and supports up to 16 players, though I think that can be expanded.
HOI4 doesn’t allow more than 10 players? You could host a panel playing Equestria at War.
Then you have things like L4D2, Gmod, Team Fortress 2, and don’t we have a Them's Fightin' Herds general?
I never understood why these guys don’t host a tournament or something; I feel like it’s the only time of year where they can shine on the board and maybe even attract new or old players, Idk

oh, and yes, I understand that they could take up slot time in the schedule that could have gone to other more elaborate panels, so that’s risky.
At least this time, Mare Doom took place during a time slot that’s usually dead, and the ironic thing is that even despite the preconception that “it’s a dead time slot”, about 50 different players joined the game (with a peak of over 30 players online at the same time), that was nice.
Lesson: Never think of any time slot on the schedule as “bad” in the sense that no one will attend your panel, whether it’s because it’s late at night or too early in the morning for most anons (we all assume this week is going to mess up our sleep schedules anyways), or because there will be another hyped panel happening at the same time in another cytube (not everyone likes that panel, trust me).

/tfhg/ died when the original devs for the game were bought out by modus. We used to have monthly tournaments that were hosted on the board through the thread with a reasonable turn out. I believe they almost made it to year 4 before calling it quits. There have been occasional tournaments hosted through the thread since then but the player base already dwindled.

Regarding the D'lirium panel - here are some things that weren't mentioned during the panel due to time constraints:

I have done what I can to fix it. There's not a whole lot to synchronize it against, and even the YouTube direct stream had some problems. But please check it out and let me know what you think. Why do you need that piece of shit? Its way worse than a video recording and we already have those. And I kinda half-given up on those. Like. To be a proper archival solution they need a lot of work. Like it needs to detect livestreams and start saving them when they are queued/played, same with regular videos, it needs to save stream timestamps to resync to chat afterwards, it needs to save all the emote (and maybe chat) links, it needs to detect and save all the .js / .css links in the channel js / css (probably recursively too), it need to record poleish bot socket to save advanced polls, the player site needs major rework. All those could be done but I 1) dont have the hdd capacity for all that video data 2) too disinterested in it to implement any of the above. And no, I wont stop recording those any time soon (that's why I'm only "half" given up), but I wont be Improving/fixing them either. As a Team Coco I disagree, we weren't that far behind and I still had fun, and we won on 'apts' (apparently), it was just buried in the achievement menu as a meaningless statistic that still counted us as third place. Supposedly it means we got more rare achievements than Team Cheerilee or Cherry Berry. Plus we had a nice little comeback thanks to the waifufags even if it ended up being short lived. It's more interesting with three. Having the third team removed 'because of our performance' would be more of a humiliation.

I'd agree with your assessment that screen recordings are a bit better (as in, reliable and comfortable) than your replays, and as such I use the latter very sparingly. However, I absolutely adore that your tools solve another problem too - making the Cytube queues and chats not so ephemeral, available for perusing later via scripts. Those word clouds are a staple finishing touch to any pony event hosted on Cytube, and the marecon 2025 shirt wouldn't have been as delightful without the chat word salad. As far as my pony horizons go, these are things I've only seen on /mlp/, and engineering done for poniponi brings the utmost respect from me. There's too many ideas, too little time/money/energy, so those who actually can do things should be encouraged and praised. Even if the work isn't immediately visible to the majority of ponyfags, like the mascot mod UI thing.
You're probably right that turning those dumps into perfect long-term archives would be a lot of upfront work, and maintenance to keep up with channel scripts and whatnot inb4 dumping HARs for 3 days straight, then replayweb.page. That doesn't mean that what you've done so far and keep doing is of no use, anon. Glad to hear you'll go on.
And it's kinda fun to see you ponder on similar problems as I have, observing the tech wizards of /mlp/.

As long as there's a recording of the direct stream, putting it together in KDenLive isn't too much of an issue. I do hope we continue to have others (including you) recording the chat as well. If she didn't she objectively wouldn't have gotten more points for it. This years point system was fairer than last years. Checking Day 3 archives shows a sea of Cheerilee.
