assuming this isn't just on multiple layers of irony, I will give you an answer. I think it's just okay. If you don't have high standards then it will be easy enough to dump like 50 hours into it. At the time it came out it was the best open-world game, but games like BotW and Elden Ring have exceeded Skyrim by miles at this point. Bethesda game design is pretty much the same as it was in the early 2000s if not worse, and so if you've played a different modern bethesda game, you've pretty much played Skyrim.

It's alright. It's kind of like video game junk food. Everyone is going to at least like it, some people are going to love it, but no one is going to call it good.

You definitely should at least try it. I'm sure with steam sales you can get it dirt cheap. Get the special edition, stay away from the anniversary edition, and go through it vanilla once.
It's a much better modding platform than it is a game. If you pick it up and wonder why it's had so much staying power, that's the reason.
