I mean your opinion is your opinion, but i personally feel, from a purely compositional standpoint, SWANS tracks are a wonderful example of how minimalism and texture work can be used to paint an entire atmosphere, there is very little instrumental complexity in there work, but thats fine, its not needed.

Also i think the blues inspiration on “to be kind” is as close to rock as they get, the seer certainly has black metal and space rock ajacent choices in its writing, but even those are far more droning and simple than most rock music.

If your looking for rock in SWANS yea i can understand why you would leave disappointed, there not a genre band
