Somebody sold the VHS tape they got for 1000 dollars: https://www.discogs.com/release/36993321-Boards-Of-Canada-Untitled
Would you do the same if you got a tape and someone was willing to give you a 1000 dollars for it?

ehhhhhh its not very interesting is it
I mean its not awful but 13 years is a long tome to wait for some bland, floaty semi-ambient

I think it sounds lavley anon
I do want some heavier stuff from them at some point (think 1969) rather than TH which was pretty mid range but I absolutely love their floaty semi ambient stuff (Tears From the Compound Eye is in my top 10) so it was nigh on perfect for me.

Tape 05 kinda reminds me of 3 other pieces all melded together

you reckon? Would chime with what they've said in the past about sourcing different instruments/equipment just for a small part in a track, and I'm hoping this is less rigidly digital as TH was, a big TCH lover.

The funniest thing is mistakenly believes them to be some kind of intellectual geniuses but they're just two aging Manc chavs with an aptitude for fucking around with music tech and getting interesting results

They control what their System produces. They just don't press Play, hit Record and let it go on its own.
If you don't believe it, you can check the demos Sean posted online.

The basic assumption is that the bass drums and kicks are random but it's not true. Take a listen and read:

A very insightful take coming from "fans" of a duo known for their love for maths and similar topics.
