all the music you could ever want to hear was made roughly from 1964 to 2006, you can just stick to those years and literally never run out of great new things to discover

DeafHeaven - Lonely People With Power[March 28, 2025]
Black Metal
Solid All the Way Through

Gorrilaz- The Mountain [February 27, 2026]
Entire Album actually surprised me compared to not caring for their previous newer releases.

MegaDeath - MegaDeath [February 27, 2026]
Metal
>Tipping Point
>Let There Be Shred
>Puppet Parade
>Made To Kill
>The Last Note
Was always a bigger Metallica fan but this shit beats everything Metallica has done in the last decades.

Snail Mail- Ricochet [March 27, 2026]
Soft Rock / Indie
>Tracor Beam
>My Maker
>Light on Our Feet
>Hell
>Reverie
Entire Album is a cozy backdrop for a Summer's Day but these 4 are my favorite.

Free Throw - Moment's Before The Storm [March 27, 2026]
Emo
>For Those Who Come After
>The Need for a Pist Credit Scene
>The Outlaw Star
>A Hero's Grave
>The Waters of Life
This album actually surprised me. Was already a fan of them but its actually up there with their 2014 release.

Zach Bryan- With Heaven on Top
Country
>DeAnn's Denim
>Say Why
>Santa Fe
>Dry Desert
>Anyways
A lot of Filler in this Album but that's Zach for you. Great gems in there though.

Michael Cera Palin [March 7, 2025]
>Feast or Famine
>Despite
>Crypto
>Wisteria
>We Could Be Brave
The last song is especially a good one. Last 3 minutes of this song is one of the best finishers to an album I've heard in a while. Main reason I come back to this more obscure record.

Deaftones- Private Music
>My Mind is a Mountain
>Ecdysis
>Infinite Source
>cYz
>Milk of the Madonna
Best shit they've done in a decade (better than Gore and Ohms)

I could go on but give me a genre and I can find something.

The First Song is more Americana/Bruce Springsteen coded than Hillbilly.
You're looking for Billy Strings.

Highway Prayers

If there's any song of his I recommend. Its this song.
Absolute BANGER even if you don't care for Hillbilly shit.

Dont know If I should care.

I watched some YouTube videos by Benn Jordan, super biased woke lefty, but a smart guy with interesting takes.
But the cunt kept talking about how he is a "musician" "artists" and all the other warning lights you get when wanabees are pretentious.
Looked up some of his work and its soo fkn generic, just to test it, I switched back and forth between his stuff and AI music.
At some point I got tired of the AI music and was gone switch back to him... only to realize I had forgotten to switch back to AI...

Self proclaimed artists getting annoyed about AI shit is never gone get boring for me.

Art is dead and I cant wait to watch the world burn.

I buy CDs from my local record store and I'm going to a live show they're hosting tomorrow night. Doesn't really seem that dead to me.
>>
>>130010462
the problem is making music just isn't profitable anymore, especially recording albums. streaming doesn't pay well and people barely buy physical media. touring is the only way to make money in music now, and even that's difficult if you're not an already established artist.
so, people aren't really recording albums anymore unless they can afford to finance their own creative pursuits, or they have a tour to promote. I do think there are still good albums being released, but they're much fewer and far between. the golden age of recorded music is over.

people don't care because streaming allows you to access the full catalog of past recorded music, so you never really run out of new things to listen to, at least if you're willing to explore. it is a shame but there's a lot of music out there, dive in.

NTA but I'll defend the Latinos being a Latino myself.
Using Bad Bunny as an example. I'll tell you why he DESERVES his recognition.

>Neverita
My favorite of his. An ABSOLUTE BANGER.
And no, its not the same typical Reageaton beat.

>Enséñame a Bailar(Show Me How to Dance)
Another Dancable Banger. Even left footed Gringos can't help dancing to this shit.

>Yo No Onions Celoso (I'm Not Jelous)
An ACOUSTIC song of his. His only one I believe and its a fucking GEM of a song. Proving he's Musically inclined in ways beyond Electronic.

>Tenemos Que Hablar (We Need to Talk)
Again, not your typical Reageaton song. Using pop rock electric guitar as the instrumental hook.
He may be a Reageaton artist but he's Musically beyond just that

>Otro Noche En Miami (Another Night in Miami)
This song is more reminiscent of the fucking Weeknd than anything Regeaton. But a good song that's one of the standouts in its album.

>Como Antes (How Before)
Slow Intro to an AMAZONG HOOK and Song.
Even in the fucking verse he's singing (No More Reageaton. Put on Another Song. Just like Before)
Being on the Nose despite being a Reageaton artist himself. About Reminiscing on the Old Times.

>SORRY PAPI
For the longest THIS was the song you heard EVERYWHERE that's Spanish. His most popular song (other than PARTY)
He's simping for this bitch but in the verse she tells him
"SORRY PAPI. I'm not your Mommy
"I do what I want
"And I Got Mine Too"

>Party
If not SORRY PAPI. Its this song you heard everywhere Spanish. Canon Spanish Event.
Deserving of being played everywhere tho. Even the fucking Spanish Super Markets

The thing about posting music is even if its my favorite artist or band. I'm still gonna shit talk it and call the poster a fag.

Snail Mail - Ricochet
>Light on Our Feet
My one rec from this album. Beautiful soft song. This album is on par with her Lush record.

Michal Cera Palin - We Could Be Brave
>We Could be Brave
12 min Song but the last 3mins is one of the best finishers to an album

Zach Bryan- With Heaven on Top
>Santa Fe
His best single from not just the album but in general.
My favorite song is Darling but this is by far his best song in ALL of his albums. Great song even if you don't care for Country
>>
>>130012461
Its because people lost the understanding that WE'RE ALL GONNA SHIT TALK JUST FOR THE FUCK OF IT
But you should still post your shit anyway.
At least we used to do that.

That's why I post my recs because I know SOMEONE is gonna like SOMETHING but won't say it.
I've listened to enough music to know I'm always gonna enjoy and find something new to enjoy. Whatever the genre.

>I've listened to enough music to know I'm always gonna enjoy and find something new to enjoy. Whatever the genre.
same. But I don't agree with "shit talking just for the fuck of it". That's a very reductive way to discuss music. Like if you genuinely don't like something sure say it's bad but don't just say "it's shit" when it's clear you didn't listen to it.
>>
>>130012775
That's very true but that's been the natural way of this website. Across every board.
You need to take the understanding that because we're all anons (and now robots too) you MUST take everything with a grain of salt.
That's gonna be an occurrence simply because we can.
I've found myself talking shit about my favorite artists/bands just for the fun/fuck of it.
I agree when discussing seriously, people get scared because of this and it hinders progressive discussion but unfortunately I'm simply complying accordingly with that understanding.
>>
>>130012833
I mean I get the "board culture" and whatever but I still disagree. Music is a very personal thing, especially these days when you can literally buy it directly from the artist on their bandcamp and leave reviews on their tracks. To me it feels like there isn't the same disconnect between artist and listener like there's been in the past and to have that sort of outlook on all music just because "that's been the natural way of this website" is not something I'll ever agree with. A good amount of stuff I listen to I hesitate to post because it feels like posting it here is one step away from an actual personal interaction someone could have with the artist, who at the end of the day is just a normal individual.

Just as an example I have left a couple of bandcamp reviews before that I'll see the artist or label put on their instagram story, that to me is waaaaaayyyyy more interaction between artist and listener than there has ever been before. When people shit talk everything on this board it feels sort of that way but in reverse if that makes sense.
>>
>>130012833
>You need to take the understanding that because we're all anons (and now robots too) you MUST take everything with a grain of salt.
That doesn't just apply to this website, it applies to all online discourse in general. The internet should never be taken seriously.

>>130012580
Snail Mail is too bland. Zach Bryan sucks. That other band has a terrible name, but I'll check it out. I've liked celebrity name wordplay bands before (Dicktracymorganfreeman, The Samuel Jackson Five, etc), although they never have staying power.
>>
>>130010462
Idk I've started playing in a post punk band with my my mates and we're having a great time, maybe it's all crap in the mainstream but hasn't it always been that way?
>>
>>130012889
I get that. And I agree music is a lot more personal now. Which may be why people are even more scared.
But SHARING music is just as personal.
My musical tastes goes everywhere just like I'm sure yours does.
If you love music you listen to a lot but you also have that drive to SHARE what you love.
The people you connected with the most, have been shared SOMETHING obscure by us that they would never care for otherwise. [Ex: The women I've dated being forced to listen to all my musical tastes and genres but they always at least walk away with SOMETHING they wouldn't dare to care for otherwise. Even if they shit talk my tastes all the time despite liking SOME of it. Because they know we got taste. Even if its beyond their normie minds]
Sharing.
THAT is worth something. Even online in a digital space. EVEN if everyone is shit talking.
>>
>>130012889
You're right and I'm sick or the normalization of vitriol here. It's true that shit talking is board/site culture to some extent, but it's never been as bad as it is now, and it's not even fun anymore. People don't just rib you for the sake of banter now, they're straight up hostile and antagonistic. It's miserable to try and discuss anything you genuinely care about here.
And to the anon that says "you should just post anyway": nah. It's not worth it. I don't get anything positive out of sharing music here. So why should I? There are places I can share music where I won't be met with such friction, I have friends I share music with. I enjoy sharing music, but I don't need to do it here. People made this a hostile environment to post in, and then complain when nobody wants to post anymore. What did you expect?
>>
>>130012949
I agree that Zach Bryan has a lot of Filler shit.
Majority of his albums have only a FEW SONGS worthy of listening to.
Man needs to learn how to edit his shit.
ButTHE ALBUM WORTH listening to FULLY is his self Titled
Zach Bryan - Zach Bryan [Aug 25, 2023]
Intro poem is his best in all his albums.
>Overtime
>East Coast of Sorrow
>Fear and Fridays
>Tradesman

Every other album has a problem of TOO MUCH FILLER but he does have gems. This one is THE ONE I can listen to fully.
But I agree he has more shit than gems unfortunately.
Self Titled is worth listening to. The MOST worthy of being listened to.
>>
>>130013070
The satisfaction here is knowing SOMEONE is gonna like your shit and you'll never know it.
I like what I like and I know not everything I like is gonna click with everyone.
In fact I know people (in real life and online) are gonna shit talk me BECAUSE I'm listening to everything and some of it is gonna fly by their coworker music brains.
I'm confident in myself to like what I like regardless.
Call it arrogance but they wish they have my taste.
(You anons included)
>>
>>130013070
Yeah that's pretty much the exact way I feel. Only thing I'd add is that instead of sharing I could also literally just be listening to and discovering more music. So if sharing here consistently meets so much friction then I can drop that if I ever feel like I don't wanna bother with it, I've got other things I can do with my time
>>
>>130013070
>hurr durr ur just a wuss gb2 reddit lol muh hugbox o algo

>>130013238
>I like what I like and I know not everything I like is gonna click with everyone.
>In fact I know people (in real life and online) are gonna shit talk me BECAUSE I'm listening to everything and some of it is gonna fly by their coworker music brains.
>I'm confident in myself to like what I like regardless.
That's not really the point. I can deal with criticism of my taste, it doesn't get under my skin. I'm confident in the things that I like. But people here aren't just critical, they're hateful and vitriolic. A lot of the time they're not even necessarily attacking your taste, they're just attacking you for being genuine and sharing anything, period. It doesn't hurt my feelings per se or undermine my taste, but it's just exhausting and miserable to engage with people like that. And so I've just stopped engaging as much.
It is satisfying to know an anon liked something you shared, but it's just not worth the squeeze anymore. As I said, I have other people and communities I can share music with where I'm not going to be dragged down.
>>
>>130012949

I understand. Which is why I'll take breaks and come back when I'm still in that mindset.
I come back with the goal of spreading shit I think is good.
Maybe its only enjoyable for me because I'm narcissisticaly arrogant in believing I have the best taste.
Maybe those are the only people left.
Alongside the people that hate anything genuine.
The narcissists are the only ones still around.
So its just toxic all around.
I've been around forever, but I can't honestly say if I remember this level of vitriol always being the case.
>>
>>130012921
This is a really nice album and a tribute, thanks for sharing anon. I'm usually the first person to put blinders on and pass over anything made in the 21st century but sometimes I need a reminder that in at least a few genres like jazz, there is still decent art being made.
>>130013070
What really gets me more than hate and vitriol, which can easily be attributed to bots that are trained to be antagonistic, is the dead silence when I share my favorite stuff. I even contribute downloads, reviews, and info on the precious few sharethreads that pop up here, I even made a chart to share 100 of what I believe to be essential albums to a particular genre, and I get silence. No (you)s. I reassure myself that surely a few anons are perma-lurkers who appreciate it but I'll never know. I don't blame lurkers for not contributing anymore considering how fucking stupid it is to post with the captcha and mandatory cloudflare and opening up your web browser's asshole to spur/mcl spyware.
>>130013389
>Maybe its only enjoyable for me because I'm narcissisticaly arrogant in believing I have the best taste
It's normal and human to want to share your "bounty" with others. Humans are fundamentally good, don't let the fake news and paid bad actors tell you otherwise. We want to share, it's in our nature, whether it's food or a song over a fire, and internet forums are a digital version of that. You are not narcissistic for trying to help others come to understand the satisfaction of your favorite music.
>>

Being able to call you a shit taste faggot is why I only discuss music here in the first place. Yes I will get called a shit taste faggot too. It's open and I always liked that.
>>
>>130013433
The very fact you posted something means SOMEONE is gonna at least TRY IT OUT.
But of course you have to make it enticing
No one is gonna click on a link with no explanation.
Give me an album cover, a recommended song or two, and an explanation WHY its good.
People forget this.
I have to DIG others to even POST songs or two.
No, don't just post the link, tell me why you like it.
Give me something.
Doing my style of posting has always given me at the very least assurance that someone is gonna AT LEAST TRY IT even if they end up not liking it.
The goal is to get them to actually listen to it.
I get sometimes the silence can be defeaning but I'm coming in ASSUMING no one is gonna say shit but SOMEONE gave a try.
>>
>>130013389
>I've been around forever, but I can't honestly say if I remember this level of vitriol always being the case.
I don't know, I mean maybe it's just rose tinted glasses, but I don't feel like it's always been this bad. And I'm not just talking about /mu/, it's the whole site. Maybe even the whole internet to an extent. Everywhere you go people are just miserable and try to drag you down into the pit with them. I honestly haven't even been on /mu/ in years, I just popped in now for old time's sake.
>>130013487
I get that, but like I said above, I don't mind criticism of my taste. The problem is a lot of people aren't calling you a faggot because of what you like, they're calling you a faggot because you like anything at all. They've made hating things their personality and you get attacked for trying to be positive, not necessarily because of the quality of what you're being positive about. It's miserable, and frankly it's boring. I would actually be a lot more willing to engage if people just shit talked the things I like, instead of me for liking things.

No problem. I ALWAYS recommend this album to IRL and Online friends.
Truly worthy of being spread.
If you come across a girl that says she hates Jazz.
Just play this shit and she's gonna end up with her legs in the air by the end of the album.
Had many great "moments" with this album.
Jazz as a genre is always gonna be solid.
I still go to Wednesday Night Jazz Sessions to my local scene. Always many old AND young musicians keeping the talent alive.
