Post some Low Cost Carrier (LCC) experiences. Personally, I've never had any positive ones and avoid them whenever possible

Spirit Airlines is the only airline I ever fly unless I am forced onto a different airline because my route is not covered by Spirit. Why do I do this? Because Spirit is always the cheapest and most affordable airline, period. I've been using them to fly from Missouri to Las Vegas for years, and some of the flights I've gotten have been cheaper than $60 one way, non-stop. It's simply an unbeatable deal. Plus, you get a free personal item carry-on which can be a backpack. If you're going somewhere for 3-4 days, you can fit all your clothes and stuff into a backpack.
If any other airline even came close to Spirit in terms of value, I would fly with that airline. But they don't. Unfortunately, because Spirit is such a generous and magnanimous company that genuinely cares for it's customers, it is going bankrupt. They could charge more money for tickets, and thus avoid bankruptcy, but they love us so much that they're willing to risk destroying the entire company just to provide us with an extremely affordable way to travel.
I mean, the fact that I can travel over 1,300 miles for less than $100, sometimes even less than 60 or 70 dollars, is batshit insane. There is no mode of transport that is more cost effective at anything approaching the same speed.
2 years ago I flew on Spirit to Las Vegas. There was in-flight promo for their credit card. If you signed up for the card, which was free for 1 year, and you spent $1000 within 3 months, you got 60,000 Spirit Points. One-way flights with spirit are sometimes as cheap as 3 or 4 thousand points.
I did the promo, got my 60k points, and since then I've had two round trips to Las Vegas completely for free, just using my points, and I still have 7k points left. I would've spent that money on a different card anyway. They literally gave me 4 flights for free just so the credit card could get $1000 worth of purchase data from me for 3 months. I just used it on bills and stuff.

There are some downsides to Spirit but they are minimal. The worst was one time they rescheduled by flight by moving it an entire 24-hours earlier. This meant I had to get another hotel room, but I got a cheap room that night for $40. And the flight was free anyway, paid with my points. Still cheaper than if I had bought a ticket on Southwest or any other airline.
Another downside is that the normal seats don't recline. If you want a larger seat you have to pay more money, but if you choose not to spend more money, you get thrown in a random seat, and they don't recline. It sucks if you're a tall person like me, but if you can endure a couple hours of unpleasantness for a dirt cheap flight then it's worth it.
Overall, there just isn't a better value. Southwest is the only other carrier that even comes close, but Southwest flights are usually double the cost of Spirit, AND Southwest doesn't even have free checked bags anymore. Compared to Spirit, the seats on a Southwest flight are a little bit more comfortable, and you can get free soda and basedbean oil coated snacks. That's it, that's the only way Southwest is better than Spirit. If Southwest flights cost 10 or 20% more than Spirit, they'd be worth it, but they're usually at least double the cost. Not worth it.
Spirit is the best airline, it's an absolute travesty that they are potentially going out of business. If you care at all about your money...you really don't know what you're missing.
I've never had a bad experience while actually on a Spirit flight. Never death with screaming or unruly passengers. Never heard people yelling. Never saw people acting gross. The quality of the people who fly Spirit is literally no different than Southwest or really any major American airline
And I've basically only ever flown Spirit to and from Las Vegas, which is one of the trashiest places in America, and thus the world

does porter still count as "low cost"? theyre ok and have free booze. theyre supposed to cut you off after 2 of those little single shot bottles but one time a cute stewardess gave me like five of them and told me to take them "to go"

Although I'm in a very similar boat I disagree. I always fly Frontier because their upgrades are actually very reasonably priced. If you want a full carrier experience and get a bunch of upgrades (bags, choosing your seat, flexibility) it's still much cheaper on Frontier than a legacy carrier while I've found in my experience that that's not true on Spirit. I've also found that Frontier has a better route network and schedules. I've also had great customer service on Frontier but that could just be because I pay extra since I can afford to do so (unlike Spirit).

I flew from Comox, BC (YQQ) to Calgary, Alta (YYC) on Westjet with a buddypass once about 20 yrs ago. Uneventful 1 hr flight. FA asked if I wanted a pop, sure i'll take a Coke. She proceeds to open the can and pours it into a small clear plastic cup which barely holds half a can. Hands me the cup and walks away with the remaining contents of the can. Holy crap, I knew they were cheap, but jeez...
On the other hand, the FA's started telling some pretty good jokes which eventually morphed into long joke-telling session where everyone had turns telling jokes. Most of them were quite hysterical. :^)

Yeah I mean I can't dispute this really. The issue is that Frontier and Spirit seem to actively avoid each other. Frontier is based out of Colorado, and Spirit doesn't even fly to Colorado at all. The inverse is true in some cases, a lot of places that Spirit goes to, Frontier does not.
The main reason I fly Spirit is because their route network works very well for my needs. I literally basically only fly Spirit in order to go to Las Vegas, which for me is perfect because it's a nonstop flight from my location.
Overall, they might not be the best, but they're pretty damn good. They have this stereotype of being a ghetto city bus in the sky and that's just not true in my experience. Maybe on other routes that's what it's like, but the KC to Vegas route is always super chill. Sometimes on the super early or super late flights (which are the cheapest) the flights can be somewhat empty. Nothing beats flying 1300 miles nonstop for like $60 and having an entire row to yourself

Not satire, and I'm not sure if your reply is bait or you're just a retarded faggot, but there's no point to pay a lot more for something when the quality is marginally better. I'll spend more money for premium food products with better ingredients. I'll spend more for consumer items made of high quality materials that last a lifetime. I'll spend more on a nice car that's beautiful and/or fun to drive.
But an airplane trip? I'm flying to Las Vegas in a couple weeks on Spirit. Because of my points, it's completely free for me. But even if I was paying money, it would only cost me around $90 USD. Flying on Southwest one-way would be around $200-250. Flying Delta or American Airlines is around $300-400. My friend who is flying American Airlines is paying a little over $600 for a round trip. I wouldn't even be paying $200, if I was paying at all.
Do I think flying on Southwest or American Airlines would be a better quality experience than Spirit? Sure. Do I think it's worth double or triple the price, or more? Absolutely not. Spirit isn't ideal, but compared to Southwest it's barely any different. With Southwest I would have 1-2 inches more legroom than on Spirit. And I would get free soda and a free packet of chex-mix type snack. That's it, that's the only way Southwest is better than Spirit. That's not worth an extra $100-$200 for a 3 hour flight (not even getting into the fact that the Spirit flight is non-stop, but most of the Southwest flights, while costing double, include a layover).
If you still think Southwest would be worth the premium, I'd like to know why.
As for American Airlines or Delta, I haven't flown on either of those since I traveled overseas, but I don't really think the coach experience is much better than what you get with Spirit or Southwest

This airline plans to acquire 50 E195-E2s in 2028, the first US airline to do so. They currently have 14 737-800s and 3 737-700s in service. Flew from KLAL to KHVN for $50 + free personal item. Also boarding/deplaning from the back is pretty neat, speeds up the boarding process too.

>Numerous Spirit aircraft have been spotted flying to a storage facility at Southern California Logistics Airport (VCV) in Victorville, California, in recent days, though it was not clear whether the aircraft were being stored because of liquidation plans or as part of Spirit's planned restructuring.
tfw i have to visit my parents in orlando in 2 weeks and nearly bought tickets because they were half the price ($110 vs $250) vs delta/jetblue/frontier
never had a bad experience with spirit desu
