sn95 and foxbody were too small and weird looking
does this make you think of a pony car or muscle car? its suppose to be well proportioned, not like a small gook car

Mustangs only look big when you compare them to contemporary (1960's) cars. Even a modern mustang looks normally sized when compared to some of the obese things on the road today.

OP is like people talking shit about the Model A being too fancy and not following the bare bones mentality of the Model T that "made it great".
These are the same douchbags that complain "Nameplate X hasnt had an update to its chassis in 7 years!!"
Bunch of fucking retarded little kids that didn't know the difference gasoline and diesel 5 years ago because they were still playing with Legos.

A MacPherson strut is a simpler suspension where the strut helps hold the wheel, so as it moves up and down the wheel angle changes more. A double wishbone uses two control arms, which gives better control of wheel movement and keeps the tire flatter on the road when cornering.
>>
>>28905111
>wheel angle changes more
>keeps the tire flatter
Incorrect.
Thats entirely based on the specific geometry of a particular build/application.
A strut can be mounted vertically and have zero camber change and unequal a-arms can have massive camber change.
Of course neither example is ideal.
Both systems can be designed to have identical camber change.
You don't understand suspension geometry and are parroting reddit comments.

In a MacPherson setup, the shock absorber is the upper suspension link. Because they are tied together, if you tweak the strut’s angle to get a perfect camber curve, you often ruin something else - like the steering axis, scrub radius, or roll center.
With a double wishbone, the shock is entirely separate from the upper and lower control arms. This gives engineers the freedom to tune for the perfect camber curve (like negative camber gain in corners) without messing up the rest of the car’s handling dynamics.

>>28905060
Tbf, I wish they didn't cancel them. Ford needs healthy competition.
>>
>>28905276
A-arms are easier to modify if you have a track car.
From an OEM engineering perspective there is zero difference in geometry outcome between the two.
You live in some delusional Fast&Furious fantasy, not the real world.
You dont have adjustable a-arms to dial in for track conditions.
You replaced a balljoint in your OEM arms once.
Once again- youre parroting bullshit reddit memes with zero understanding of suspension geometry.
>>
>>28905395
If there is truly ‘zero difference in geometry outcome’ from an OEM perspective, then why did Porsche recently abandon 50 years of MacPherson struts to put a double wishbone front suspension on the 992 GT3?
>>
>>28905409
I was pretty clear about that.
>>28905395
>A-arms are easier to modify if you have a track car.
>>
>>28905429
>muh track car
Porsche’s engineers explicitly stated they hit a mathematical wall with strut geometry. Because a McDonalds strut pivots on an axis tied directly to the shock tower, it physically cannot provide enough dynamic camber gain for modern, wide tires without entirely ruining the car’s scrub radius and steering axis inclination. In fact, under heavy body roll, strut geometry can actually start losing negative camber and lifting the tire edge.
This is for their road cars btw

>>28905466
>road cars
>GT3
Hilarious you had to go as far as digging the GT3 out of your ass to find something that fits your narrative.
Not to mention you couldn't quote what they actually said and resorted to a layman interpretation of this specific application.
