There's a lot to love. Two great powertrain options, incredibly affordable, super practical. New facelift is a downgrade in my opinion. Only reason I don't own one.
>>
>>28914885
If its adequate for the person buying it, why does it matter?
>>
>>28914885
>Cool man, enjoy
If they just want a smaller vehicle with a bed, seats 4 comfortably and has good mpg it's pretty great.

Whatever makes you happy.
>>

Considering you bought it I hope you feel that way but it’s kinda weird that you have to reassure yourself by verbalizing it unsolicited

I also enjoy driving my unibody vehicle with a bed. I think it's marvelous how it has only basic features but everything is good where it matters

>PARALLEL HYBRID where both electric and gas motors drive the wheels
>driveshaft for gas engine to drive rear wheels instead of electric motors
>LI-ION hybrid battery instead of ni-mh which most other non-plugin hybrids use, allowing more capacity more output and lighter weight
>Mazda L6 2.5L engine that's basically a K24 reliability wise
>Like 300lbs heavier than a honda accord but 800lbs lighter than a tacoma
>get asked all the time what the hell truck this is
>>
>>28914888
The reason you don’t own one is because your fucking broke nigga quit trippin….**digits

There is a market of millions of people world wide who want the functionality and utility of having a pickup bed that will never tow anything and will never overload the bed and would otherwise prefer to drive a car.
>>
>>28915064
This
>>
>>28914885
>pretends to be a pickup.
I don't get it, it is a pickup
>>
>>28915074
Im one of those people.
I daily drive it, occasionally haul shit to the landfill, transport toolboxes, engines, help with moving houses etc.
Ive never needed it to do more, and I can just pay someone to trailer a car if I need it that bad.
>>
>>28915074
Yeah it's called a half ton and they sell millions of them a year. What the fuck is up with this place and constantly trying to reinvent the fucking wheel?
>>
>>28914885
Incredibly based. I too love driving my unibody car that pretends to be a pickup. Its far more practical than a regular crossover but gets even better fuel mileage than one. Its such a perfect vehicle for someone like myself. Im glad you share that sentiment.
>>
>>28914885
It's TINY...Like, pictures don't actually portray how tiny this thing is... If you're a "sporty" and or "wannabe sporty" childless couple, 5'9" at the most. With a dog or two you'll be alright, otherwise... You're fucked.
>>
>>28915323
Pickups are trucks. This is sure as shit not a truck. The ElCamino and Ranchero were never pickups and they're still more of a pickup than a Maverick.
>>
>>28914888
lol
lmao even
>>
>>28916120
There's a truck bed in it, it is a pickup truck
>>
>>28915856
Imagine I wanted a half ton but I didn't want to pay $55k for a lot of off-road capability and didn't need to tow 13k lbs and wanted better fuel economy. Why can't that vehicle exist?

Yeah I don't think so, Dave-o. Your shitty ute things are not pickup trucks.

>>28916143
These vehicles exist. Why do you pretend that they don't?
>>
>>28916145
single cabs are dogshit anyone who is not fucked in the head gets a quad cab
>>
>>28916147
Okay so that's too basic for you now. Okay you goldilocks faggot. If you want a crew cab spend another $3-5k and get a crew cab. That's still priced at or below the Maverick.
>>
>>28914885
It's called an Ute.

For suburban landscaping or ither small business it's more than enough
>>
>>28916145
I still don't want to pay 40k and I want backseats and more than 18 highway mpg and AWD for when it snows
>>
>>28916106
Have you actually sat in one before? I'm 6'2" and with my seat height increased by like 7 clicks my head is still like 6 inches away from the roof with the seat straight up, and my seat is over half of the way forward so I can reach things. It's actually comical how far the seat can go back to the point my legs are completely straight to reach the pedals.

There's a ton of headroom in the maverick, the legroom is like a civic but I fit perfectly fine in the back seat behind myself at 6'2". Also bought it because I very rarely use the back seats, they are effectively my trunk and the bed is a super trunk with the tonneau
>>
>>28916153
It's under $40k for a crew cab with 4x4. Those 4bangers or the small ecoboosts can get 25+mpg highway. A half ton will have a way higher resale value. Stop coping.
>>
>>28916148
>That's still priced at or below the Maverick.
Yeah if you're both a Costco member and a retired military member.
Oh but you didn't think to actually look at the discounts from that dealership, did you. You just clicked "price ascending" and took it at face value. Imagine trusting a dealership so wholeheartedly.
>>
>>28916158
If you paid attention in elementary school you would know why a half ton can sell for considerably lower than a low volume new platform vehicle.
>>
>>28916157
Nope, it's 44k for a WT. That's 14k more than a AWD Maverick.
>>
>>28916159
It can't and you know it can't. No one is selling a new half ton in any configuration for under 30k.
>>
>>28916160
>>28916161
You people have issues.
>>
>>28916145
Ah I see, you're some kind of aussie faggot, shove a whole bottle of vegemite up your communist asshole
>>
>>28914885
Good for you buddy. I just wish they were $20k still and not nearly $30k like they are now.
>>
>>28916159
Maverick isn't a new platform vehicle, it's the same platform as the Ford Focus, Escape, Bronco Sport, Lincoln Corsair...Transit van... Etc. Engine is a Mazda L5 / Duratec that was made back in 2008.

The Maverick actually has a bunch of old known good shit in it which is why it's good.
>>
>>28916106
More rear leg room than a ranger btw.

>>28916154
Also this, I'm 6'2 and the amount of leg room and cabin space is massive for how relatively small it is. No gay ass woke trans tunnel getting in the way. I did a 6 hour drive in it and barely felt the need to get out and stretch.

>>28916145
Retard

>>28916148
I have said this before and I will say it again.

The maverick is not in competition with half tons. Now lets say it together. "The maverick is not in competition with half tons."

People who want a maverick want a crossover with a bed. The only competition is the santa cruz which is like the downs cousin. The price is literally is irrelevant.

A half ton is not a small truck. Its actually that simple and the fact that you cant comprehend why someone doesn't want to daily a half ton for no reason is crazy.
>>
>>28914885
>Your response?
No response. I don't care what someone else drives or their reasons why. It doesn't matter.
>>
>>28914885
Confirmed Mexican trash by our guy Scotty
>>
>it's not a REAL truck!
Okay. I don't want a real truck. I want a sedan with a bed instead of a trunk.
>>
>>28914885
I use my hatchback like a small truck. It's got spring boosters that I've hauled 2000 lbs in.
>>
>>28914888
>super practical
Gee, I wonder how many times a year you actually need that truck bed.
>>
>>28916312
This. Why would anyone really give a shit what other people drive? I see a bunch of seething on here about pickup trucks constantly. Don't fucking drive one then! Who cares?
>>
>>28916145
>single cab
>poverty spec
>GM exploding engine

OORAH BROTHER!! THAT'S A REAL TRUCK!!!!
>>
>>28916362
For me it's every day. For you it's probably never
>>
>>28916364
Yeah I really don't get it. Over the last couple of decades, it seems like more and more people have abandoned a positive outlook and instead spend their time seeking out and obsessing over things that make them angry. Like there has to be something to be mad about at all times, no matter how inconsequential it might be, and because of this their lives have no joy. What they don't understand is that they're not miserable because of these things they're mad about. They're miserable because they're mad all the time. They're blinded to the fact that if they simply stopped giving a shit about all this stuff that doesn't actually effect their lives they'd be a lot happier.

>>
>>28916406
There's a pretty huge difference between somehow not being able to have an opinion on something (is that even possible?) and not having an opinion about something because it's not worth the effort of giving a shit about it. Is this something you're capable of understanding?
