Mine is the 4pot. On it's best day it was "peppy" in the way a hot hatch was - not actually fast, but not slow enough to be a nuisance. On its worst day the bottom end fused into an aluminum brick below 120k miles.
It's junk and I'll never buy krautshit again. I've never spent more maintaining a car or had one die younger except the 70k mile Focus that was totalled in a crash.

Both the F22 228i and 230i were offered with a 6 speed manual transmission. The BMW E30 M3 also was equipped with a 4 cylinder due to it's revvy nature and lightness lending itself to a better balanced car. Homologation for Group A racing was a factor, sure, but with a limit of 2500cc there are plenty of I6s BMW could've dropped into it instead of the I4 S14. OP, although a fag, still has a point.
