Looking to transition from still photography to moving. The Sony NEX-VG30 was on a list of potential firsts. Now available to me for a few hundred. I'm looking to make short films, mostly narrative. From what I've researched, I don't think I will mind the quirks. I'm intrigued at the prospect of using a strange and uncommon camera. But I would hate to be wrong. I'm dead broke and just beginning. Anyone had experience shooting with it? Insights? Suggestions?

Just use your legs to move.

Don't mind that it's not 4K. I don't like images overly clear or sharp anyway. But I am worried that it won't necessarily have a "cinematic" quality. As well as performance in low light. Footage is hard to come by and all of it is utilitarian. Everyone talks about using it for news, documentary, etc. I assumed I could make it "artsier" in the edit and investing in some vintage lenses. Which is its main draw

Vg20 is more superior. The vg30 has a worse sensor.
Get the 18-105mm pz and its killer.
