I'm not even joking when I say everything that Japan prides itself on having, China has the same or better.
If you dream of a neo-cyberpunk sci-fi Tokyo metropolitan esthetic, why settle for aging decaying capsules that went out of style before half of Gen Z was even born, when you could instead pay a visit to Shenzhen, the technological beauty that's giving Silicon Valley a run for its money?
Why remain content with what is basically the East's equivalent of British food - oh ho, funny seafood wrapped in seaweed, literally the best invention in food history! Yeah no... when you can enjoy spice and mala and barbecue and all sorts of regional dishes, from dumplings to noodles to pastries to rice? And it's all the same. Japan simply doesn't have the lebensraum for culinary diversity (the only good kind of diversity xD) that China has. People often say China has 8 great cuisines, when in reality the variety is dizzying and endless.
Oh, and half of Japan's "traditional" culture is blatantly ripped off of China's. Kanji are all borrowed from Chinese Hanzi. Kimonos are derivative of hanfu. The temples you visit in Nara might as well be in Pingyao or Luoyang.
And don't you mistake China for a barren industrial wasteland. The mountains of greater Tibet, Yunnan, and Dongbei (NE) are simply breathtaking. Pay a visit to the crater lake Mt. Changbai, the multicolored pools of Jiuzhaigou, the vast and boundless steppes of Inner Mongolia, or the unbeatable landscapes of Guilin and Yangshuo.
There is no reason to visit (or study in, or move to) Japan. China is vastly superior to Japan in every conceivable respect imaginable.
Wake up anons, it's not the 20th century anymore.

Sichuan Province. It's also where hot pot, and much of the spicy Chinese food in general originates from.
Them and Chongqing, which remains culturally part of Sichuan even if no longer administratively.
The province is home to a scenic mountain called Emei home to a special "Buddha's halo" you can see if you're lucky, a giant ancient Buddha statue by a river in Leshan carved out of a mountain 1000s of years prior to Mt. Rushmore (but without the colonization), and an ingenious irrigation system called Dujiangyan built while most Japanese were living in huts and tattooing themselves like the Aborigines they are at heart, and still would be had it not been for Chinese influence civilizing them and their society.
The way I'd put it, Sichuan's got hot food, hot weather, and hot women. But then again a lot of China has at least two of these three.
Which way, Western man? Crunchy and flavorful dan dan noodles, or limp erectile-dysfunction onions ramen?

Asians seem to have little agency or drive. They can reproduce well and work along estblished trails.

If you want to minimize that risk, avoid street food. I don't mean the food itself, what I mean is closer to the "street" part of it.
You can get the same food if you go to a mall. Usually the basement. To minimize risk, China's shooed many street-stall vendors off the street, but many have found and enjoyed new lives in mall basements. Some of the best food you can find in China today can be found in indoor food courts.
Pictured: Raffles in Shanghai (https://www.smartshanghai.com/articles/dining/shanghainese-vintage-fo od-hall-in-north-bund-blessing-or-c urse). But they're everywhere!
You've clearly never been to China (or much else of Asia for that matter), or else you'd know what I'm talking about.

Also, if you hate Asians in general so much, then why the fuck do you goon to Japanese anime and the like? LOL.

Mainland Chinese food is really disgusting. Very slimey, lots of mystery meats and obscure slimey vegetables, basically nasty Ashkenazi peasant sloppa.
All the good Chinese food like sweet and sour chicken, crispy shredded beef, egg fried rice etc comes from Hong Kong aka the British region.

It's also more than a bit disingenuous to be comparing entree and dessert items under the same scheme. Like, imagine I went around polling people as to whether cheeseburgers or boba tea tasted better.
A fair comparison would be something like Japanese ramen vs. Lanzhou lamian vs. spaghetti alla carbonara.

>bong flag
lmao
anyways
It's pretty easy to argue for Japanese cuisine to be disgusting. Something like:
>ew, raw fish
>ugh, and they wrap it in SEAWEED, as in laverbread seaweed? like that's not even a plant that's a protist
>pickled ginger
>natto
>they put RAW eggs in their noodles
>curry being one of the top comfort foods, and a chemically processed cubical version of it rather than from spices you can grow in your backyard
>what the fuck is an 'umami'
>horse sashimi
>narezushi (and its smell)
Raw fish is almost entirely absent from Chinese cuisine, by comparison. Same with raw eggs, but the existence of salted duck egg and century egg might cause this to backfire.
On a more serious note, curry is not considered a Chinese dish for some reason, and this almost surprises me, as it's common in Japan, I think Korea too, and is ubiquitous in SE Asia. Even in Yunnan or Guangxi you don't really see curry in their local cuisines.
Still don't understand how you can point to fucking ham and macaroni soup and say it's better than the vast majority of Chinese cuisine though. Fucking britbongs and their lack of taste I guess.

Then I say lamb skewers, chili chicken, steamed whole fish with ginger and scallion, fried pork dumplings with juice, crispy skin fried duck, a northern noodle tradition rivaling that of Italy, seafood dim sum, eggplant potato and pepper casserole, "big plate chicken" fit for a trucker, and XO sauce taste good.

To further add, the Chinese always have to convince you their food isn't dogshit, whereas people just generally like Japanese. This is basically all of Chinese culture. Also notice how their conversation always revolves around just food for Chinese people (because everything else is worse than the food, which is already awful).

Tell that to my mother (a 1st-generation Chinese immigrant to the US).
Whenever we went out for sushi, which wasn't often itself, we'd invariably order an eel roll, shrimp tempura, or sometimes a dragon roll. I remember having to beg her to let me try a special roll which had raw tuna inside it. And it was great! Yet even today she's still a bit averse about that sort of thing.
I feel like the typical provincial Joe Whitenormie would prefer a typical provincial home-cooked Chinese meal over a typical provincial home-cooked Japanese meal. There's plenty of overlap, frankly, e.g. rice as accompaniment, or chopstick usage. But it'd honestly take far less effort to convince a Joe Whitenormie to try the Chinese meal of what'd probably be chicken or pork vs. a Japanese seafood-based meal, even if it's something cooked like unagi-don (it's a fucking eel, a Joe Whitenormie is not going to be eating eels every week!).
The one stumbling block staple ingredient might be tofu, but that's common to both Chinese and Japanese cuisines. And idk about you but I can hardly stomach mayonnaise, so I guess it all works out, perhaps?

>why the fuck do you goon to Japanese anime
nobody save for degenerates does that. This is a NS forum with lulz.
It can be a funny perjorative to call people out like that. Also because anime is still out of reach of the kikes, it's therefore an absurdist strategy to fall prey to non-jewish degeneracies. But it's still not commendable by a longshot. Anime troons are israeli auxiliaries.

Your word against yours.
And beyond food, China is simply so much better to visit. The cities are superior, and the countryside is superior. There's simply so much more to do, as befits a more powerful and world-relevant country.
Name anything special about Japan, and I can name something the same or better!

Lemme tell you the cold hard truth, if you can stomach it.
If the Axis won World War II, then Germany and Japan would've turned on each other. Nazi Germany always thought of the Japanese as convenient allies, not fellow Aryans with whom to take over the world together with, or even "honorary" Aryans. No, once Germany was done with the Jews and defeated the US, they'd have started hating Asians.
AH Cold War, basically.

From my experience, this is true. Korean food in general is just the best. You guys are shit at sweets and snacks, and some of the stuff you eat is really fucking weird but on the whole you're the best.
Then I'd rate Japan as second. Their food is way over rated, but it's on the whole pretty good. There is nothing really bad about Japanese food though, it's fairly consistent across the board.
Chinese food is by far the worst. The biggest problems are quality control and hygiene, if you eat in China you will get thunderous shits and food poisoning. That is just what happens.
The other problem is, a lot of the stuff they eat in China is obviously a result of the constant famines they've had throughout history. They eat absolutely fucking anything and a lot of it is just off putting and doesn't taste great.
This is my experience as someone who has been to all three countries.

Japan is more high trust than anything in europe and china is more low trust than anything in europe. Even kosovo russia even the turks dont have problems with poisoned baby food.

Though this is true, they can copy existing designs very well and improve from there. I'm a welder by trade and some of the machines coming from china now are world class. I bought one recently (admittedly designed by former Miller and Kempii engineers) and it's absolutely amazing with the same functions as machines worth 10 times as much (which are assembled in Europe or America from Chinese components anyway). I've been hearing very good things about Chinese cars and to a lesser extent heavy machinery as well from people who are in the know. The Japanese have unfortunately dropped the ball on most of their cars nowadays, being double the price of the equivalent Chinese model without being twice as reliable. Hiluxes are a good example.

Good luck crossing the Himalayas and going around Qomolangma (referred to as "Mt. Everest" by Western colonizers).
They are almost like a nature's Great Wall.
(And relax I am being facetious about the name. You can still say Everest if it humors yourself.)

Cringe.
I like Kyoto, the city of 10000 shrines.

>japan is an old meme based on an outdated 80s-90s image mixed with marketing from anime
Japan has been a cultural force in the western mind since the first merchants brought back Japanese artifacts to Europe.

You literally can visit the countryside. I can no longer further engage with your noise as you've clearly demonstrated you know jackshit about a country yet have the gall to keep slandering it on no good ground.
You are not an arguer. You are only a parrot.
And this parrot is essentially throwing out good food and calling it expired. No, the argument isn't "withered". It's almost like people including travelers LIKE to see good urbanism and good food. Quelle surprise, no?
China, from its cities to its rural areas, is the perfect fusion of old and new. Japan and Taiwan have too much "old" and not enough "new". Singapore and Dubai have too much "new" and not enough "old". China is the best mix.

No, it was CHINA first who influenced the West, even going as far back as the ancient days of the Silk Road. Not Japan.
When the Silk Road first started being active in the 100s BC, the Japanese were just beginning to build huts, and ceasing to be hunter gatherers. Some "civilization" indeed!
Japan hasn't been relevant in the west until some brief missionary period, then they shut the country for centuries because, well, I think the answer is obvious to anyone who has a brain. Only then when Matthew Perry arrived did things open up again.
Meanwhile China has been the face of all the cultural exchange. So there's a great reason they call the Western Asian influence art movement "chinoiserie", NOT "japonerie"!

Here is the ancient city of Hangzhou. It reminds me of Kyoto, only more excellent and scenic.
Hangzhou is like Kyoto in that it is surrounded by a preserved ancient area, but remains a functional city, and a major one at that. It has historical connections with the famed administer and poet Su Dongpo. When Marco Polo swung by, he referred to Hangzhou as the most beautiful city in the world, and even in our heyday it's hard to disagree!
The lake you see is called West Lake and it is more beautiful - not to mention more enjoyable for the run-of-the-mill tourist - than Lake Biwa.
In addition to tourism, Hangzhou is home to some of China's top companies (like Alibaba, the Chinese version of Amazon) and universities (like Zhejiang University, roughly analogous to UCLA in prestige).
