>provides shade for cars, pedestrians, customers, and employees
>generates electricity for the power grid
>charge EVs
>signficiantly reduces operational costs for nearby buildings & businesses, which may encourage employers to increase the wages of their employees and redistribute fundings to other needs of the company
So why is this a bad thing, besides the fact that it's anti-capitalistic & anti-semitic because it doesn't exploit people for profit

Maintenance is a bitch, which is an excuse to reduce employee benefits or increase prices even if the benefits outweigh it. Corporations have a legal duty to profitmax. If overhead can be reduced, then they must pocket the difference or consider something like a stock buyback.

Its bad because brain dead morons have been completely mind fucked by 70+ years of fossil fuel industry propaganda to think that anything other than burning liquid dinosaurs is simply an unacceptable way to generate power.
That is literally all there is to it. These people dont think. Most of them havent even graduated high school. They just hear whatever bullshit the corporate sponsored talking heads tell them and repeat it back.
Youd think oil prices jumping around like crazy because of the war would be a wake up call. You'd think they would wonder why every war weve fought since 'Nam has been about oil. But they dont.
Because they are retarded.

Although I support shaded parking, and if there is going to be solar anywhere...carports would be the preferred space. HOWEVER...
1) Solar is incredibly polluting. The amount of oil necessary to mine, let alone refine, the materials and get them to market is HUGE, and worst...it's all up front. Front loading all pollution is far worse than spreading it out, and allowing natural courses to address it. Kind of like a drop of oil into a river does not harm the river as dumping truckloads of oil.
2) Incredibly inefficient way to produce power. Not only do soalr panels NEVER produce the rated output, but they only produce in ideal situations..which is minimal hrs out of the day, days out of the month, months out of the year.
3) EXPENSIVE! And EVs suck..no one wants them anymore, because they were just a retarded fad. Which reminds us just how polluting solar/EV is.
4) Kikes are deep into it's regulation and subversive degenerate effects. Who the fuck are you trying to trick?!!
OPINION: I'd rather have beautiful trees, and carports made of flowering vines over gazeebo trelusses. I would rather see more greenery, than concrete. More parks. And zero Niggers, Poos, and Kikes.

That would be nice, but no. Solar panels need a lot of maintenance, and they must remain clean and clear or they lose efficiency fast. They're great out in the desert where birds mostly don't shit on them, the weather is stable, and maintenance men can just drive right up and work on them from the ground.

Someone is going to have to clean the thousands of solar panels per city. Now multiply that by 20,000 cities.

Makes sense to me. You know what they did in my neighborhood? Bulldozed thousands of acres of trees and wildlife, Burnt them all, and installed a solar farm so corporations can buy cheap power. Green energy amirite? Now they are installing fiber optical because they want us to pay them to connect to a data center. This place is no longer rural. Eat shit corpos. We won't forget.

my UNISOLAR panels could handel a car drive on them (yes i did this), made in America, untill Obama proomoted solar. Gone in months to China like all the factorys he visited and payed outlandish money to.

,ROI in less then 3 years.
>>
>>533339854

that would be a part of ROI
but nobody ever answers the question what the ROI is.
a few breakdowns i've seen from local counties and locales who put these up in public spaces (schools, public parking lots, etc.) are subsidized so it's impossible to tell.
otherwise, it's very nice, cools down the area a lot, provides off-grid electric, adds more to the grid, yada-yada.
but again it's a complex equation.
>>
because it will likely be built using public money but the californian government will then raise taxes somewhere else to offset the losses from the electrical grid.

The difference in sun energy that would have been reflected back into space unobstructed by the parking lot compared to solar panels lot is very negligible compared to the additional heat created by any form of fossil electricity generation.

Brother how ofen do you need to go and clear off the top of a car port? Ill give you a spoiler, never.
How often do you think you will need to go and clear it off and wash those pannels so that they actually work?
Second spoiler, solar panels loose a massive amount of their effectiveness in a very short amount of time.
It would not generate enough power to really power anything of worth for long enough, and to be cost effective enough.
The only way that solar power is really effective is as a supplementary power supply on a small scale, you are better off getting a standing wind turbine but even that has less power.
The best renewable power source would be hydro power, as even a small hydro generator can generate a LOT of energy. The real trick though is you need storage.
If you actually wanna capture the most outta renewable energy sorces you need to capture them into a battery bank and then drain the battery bank just to fill it back up.

I could keep going on but basically anything that has plastic or rubber? Congrants, thats going to be oil related.
Anything that has to do with most gases? Also Oil related.
Oil is the black gold that runs the world. You dont need to find just a replacement of a fuel source, you need to find a replacement of EVERY FUCKING THING.

But the fact that people already install solar panels on their roofs and manage to make that work in their favor already proves that its plausible. If anything, you'd expect it to work more efficiently at a larger scope due to economies of scale.

Actually in China where they put PVs on desert it made it green under PVs due to less sun scorching ground. So it is not like you will get less farmland with PVs. If you put it right you might get more.
>>
>>

Cars produce polution, ties break down and produce particulates, this creates dust, dust covers solar panels reducing their effectiveness. Now you need someone to clean them, only it is more difficult to clean panels in a car park than a different space. This shit is a Reddit thing of:

But the truth is that it is still best to put solar panels where they can be more easily maintained.

Do away with parking lots in general, and move towards green spaces and multi level (preferably underground) parking garages.
Half of your average city is massively underusing their space, and income feneration per acre. Massive tracts of land devoted to soulless parking lots that are only 40% full all day baking in the sun. You could 2-5x the living space, 2x the business space, and not even expand the city. Massive green parkland with high-tech features and services surrounding a dense and connected town.
Peak humanity is simply waiting to be achieved while a bunch of cuckolds who use their big trucks to get groceries and fuck eachother in the ass. are fighting tooth and nail to prevent this from happening. You are the cause of urban sprawl and western degeneracy.

People screeching about maintenance here don't realize how trivial it is to put an automated cleaning system right on top of stuff like this.
The fact it isn't standardized is the issue, not that it cannot be done.
Be the person in your local area to make an automated solar panel cleaning setup for companies and you'll make bank.
Sell maintenance for said automated systems and you've got regular income for the lifetime of those panels / company.
A self-healing cleaning system can last a solid year without maintenance, and that's just the cheap-end and ignoring freak failures that are present in every industry, even high-testing environments like medical and military.
You're literally speaking an on-rails rack cleaner that just slides over with a panel-height-sized duster.
Duster goes to a docking station at the end, gets ultrasonic blasted to clean off debris build-up, gets re-lubed on rotation, sensors calibrated if need be as well.
Built at an angle, solid debris build-up on top of the panels isn't possible, so you're only left with particulate matter build-up on a tiny scale, not enough to be super abrasive.
The panels and the installation would likely outlast the company that placed them there.
A camera on the rig could detect major defects on surfaces, such as cracks due to incidents with damage from large objects.
Any time you see a system that has some maintenance requirement and your thoughts are "lol can't work needs maintenance" instead of "I could make money off that", it only shows you're a fucking brainlet and you are NGMI.

>No. Park is still maintained. So it is easier to have maintenance team nearby. Unless you do big plant on desert, then you have to have maintenance people around 24/7.
Why are we going around in these circles? You admit cars produce dust and pollution -> having solar panels near the source of this dust means they have more dust -> therefore they have to be cleaned more often. So yes, having them not near the source of dust/pollution means they can be cleaned less often and are more efficient.
>Unless you do big plant on desert
Whether it is a big plant or not, having them in other locations is superior to carparks. Carparks are simply not an efficient usage of them. You can hook them up to batteries for storage, you can fit in more batteries somewhere where you're not confined in how much space you can use.
>Maybe look in the mirror sometimes.

not true at all, they are selling like crazy all over the world. the auto unions in ontario are really against them though
remember anons, when you see movements for or against something, money is behind it, and not always the sellers of a product. quite often it's labour unions and professional associations with a lot of money to throw around at advertisers and politicians. for instance
>nurse's union in ontario wants drug addicts all over the place because it means more work and memebers and therefore dues and influence to the union. real estate developers are also in on this
>labour unions in the 1960's pushed lbj to ramp up the vietnam war; wall st was against this and invented antiwar hippies overnight.
>the ama is the reason that americans don't have universal health care; wall st wants you to have it
>prison guard unions in the us are the biggest anti cannabis voices out there. every anti weed thread is paid for

muh solur no good
>Solar panels typically last 25 to 30 years, with high-quality monocrystalline panels often reaching 35 to 40 years of operation. While they do not stop producing electricity abruptly after this period, their efficiency gradually declines, usually operating at 80% to 90% of original capacity after 25 years.

It all ends up with calculating energy in and out. I do not think car pollution would polute these panels more than they generate energy.
>Carparks are simply not an efficient usage of them.
Well you have carparks rightnow which are used only to park cars and nothing else. Why we cannot make them more useful to generate energy?
>when we can just as easily put them somewhere else where they're easier to use and maintain.
I wrote about it in othr posts. Even putting PVs on desert needs maintenance eam to be on the spot 24/7 like in any other energy plant. Park lot PV could allow for more distributed energy network.
Forgetting about insults and being retards. Really think about it calmly. Parking lot PV is just like home PV. Gives energy and is easy to maintain.

If you want to focus on how it's impossible to completely eliminate oil use throughout society as a whole, go ahead because I'm sure you're right. But that doesn't mean we should never reduce our usage of it whenever it's possible. We can't make an electric bulldozer yet, but electric cars aren't an issue. I live in a region that's powered by water turbines in Niagara Falls. The only oil being used is to lubricate the gears, so nothing gets burned which results in far less pollution getting spewed out everywhere. My example probably doesn't work in your region, but that doesn't mean it's impossible to find some other solution to reduce oil usage.
Not eliminate. Reduce.

Okay. And?
The best I can gather is you posted this because you think "net-zero emissions" means to completely eliminate all fossil fuel emissions when really it means to resuce usage as much as we can and clean up the mess made in cases where emasions are unavoidable. I don't recall this applying to the other ways we use oil (such as plastics and lubricant) but maybe I missed something.
I guess I shouldn't be surprised that people around here have trouble understanding nuance.

I didn't answer the other part, so about 780 watts at once but I charge an ecoflow pro delta with it, so the storage plays a big role, you can get one for 1000 dollars now.

>150 to 200+ kilowatt-hours (kWh)
congratulations you can charge 2 cars... over a whole day, or 4 50% ones or 8 25% ones... also since its "average" its meaningless.
Electricity doesn't work on averages, that's one off the hardest blackpill to swallow for all those PV advocates.

They very much do not. Tree shit, bird shit, bug shit, brake dust, regular dust, all of it sticks. I'm sorry they need very regular cleaning or their efficiency is trash.

It's not you nigger.
Got so many faggots like you here crying about HURR THEY PUTTING SHIT IN MY BACKYARD MY BACKYARD ME ME MINE ME MINE IT ALL BELONGS TO MEEEEEEEEE
Fucking Badgery's Creek Airport has taken nearly seventy fucking years to build because of old boomer niggers screeching and crying about planes.
I wanna feed every boomer not in a nursing home into a jet turbine and then take that slurry and weld every nursing home's doors shut so I can pump the boomerslurry in and drown the ones who are in the nursing homes in the sloppy swill of their fellow geriatrikikes.
>>

Then you need more skilled tradesmen to maintain the moving motorized & electrical components of the auto cleaning equipment.
That would likely equal out or even cost more.
Is that video supposed to be a joke?

I am an industrial automation engineer and I can't do the same basic shit that Electricians do even though I write out their layouts for my job. They get paid 150k to do a job I instruct them to do for 80k and manage. California is a magic place because of unions.
>>
>>
>>533349426
I am thinking of actually becoming a tradesman only to get my c10 so I can fuck both groups by taking both their jobs. There is big money in doing controls and neither group except some retiring electricians can do it.

It's pretty expensive to mount panels that high up. Especially engineered to be safe enough.
Check out will prowse's solar carport project on YouTube. The panels were a tiny fraction of his costs compared to the concrete work.
It's a huge problem that as solar has gotten much cheaper everything else has gotten so much more expensive, so the only practical way to get a return on panels is to dump them in the desert propped up by sticks.
Lots of guys on the diysolarforum just leave them laying on the ground or propped up against walls and get 1-2yr ROI.

Oh so you own it in the same way your girlfriend is your girlfriend when she's a literal prostitute.
Ok champ. Your own property fucking cucked you.
>>
>>533349641
It is, but for the same cost you can literally by all the equipment you need and more. Most of the cost comes from liability cost installers falling through roofs because boomers won't update their fucking roofs since it will trigger a tax evaluation with California on their property.
>>
>>533349780
You are just being a faggot. The solar farm being built means more bullshit and maintenance on the lines that they have easement on. I have to see the eye sore every fucking day and hear the god damn humming from the facility. Fuck you and your gay ass airport. You better get solar before you run out of gas. One day, you'll get pissed off too and some little shit will run his mouth to you. Fuck off back to your prison colony you criminal scum

1) The heat of the asphalt harms solar panel efficiency.
2)That flat arrangement like in the pic is not the most efficient angle either.
3) Morons will be constantly hitting them.
Don't get me wrong, it's generally common sense to put panels in otherwise unused places as part of a multi-system approach to energy, especially compared to big solar farms that could be better used for shit like actual farms.
You just have to consider all the relevant factors and real-world behavior and results.

Solar panels heat to around 150 degrees in summer and create an ambient heat island of around 15-20 additional degrees around them. This means that if you park you car under a solar array and it's 100 degrees out it could be nearly 120 degrees beneath the panels. Having black asphalt below amplifies it further even if it's partially shaded by the panels.
This is feasible in colder climates but any place with 3 months or more of proper summer temps would be unbearable and may even cause damage to the vehicles.

You understand that heat radiates from hot objects don't you? It's the "heat island effect"
A shaded car port is nice but if the thing generating the shade is increasing temps on days that are already dangerously hot then it's an option that's not feasible for places that experience those high summer temperatures.

Why can't I find a single video of a Ev exploding in Australia? But I can find 20+ videos of ICE cars exploding. Also why are there so many American solar panel experts here who have literally never touched or handled a solar panel IRL. Do most Migatards know their god Elon is subsidizing our solar batteries because American are too dumb to adopt them? I can only pray Americans continue to be this dumb

you wouldn’t use a system that adjusts to the sun if you’re creating a solar powered car port, that’s more for a 10kw array in a field. instead you’d angle the panels depending on the latitude of the location and months of peak efficiency. the angle of incidence varies depending on where you are on the earth and the season

Or we could just invest in thorium nuclear reactors that literally cannot melt down. But no, we have to cover thousands of acres in hideous chincy shit that poisons the ground and needs constant maintenance or if it hails can be outright destroyed. Nevermind clouds or snow or high heat decreasing your energy out put. Solar panels are kiked to the max.

Black things get hot in sun and increase ambient temperatures. Being sandwiched between black things on hot sunny days is not good. Are solar panels the same as circuit boards? No. No they are not.
>>
>>533350534
You want an air gap because the solar panels will change their voltage in hotter weather, it lowers so you can pump more watts and connect more panels. But the heat will deteriorate the panels faster.

I'm not, that's not what we are talking about. I'm all for solar panels and batteries and inverters. I just don't want that to be the go to method as it is inefficient and ugly compared to nuclear energy. Nuclear energy gets over looked because it's literally too good, too abundant. Wind and solar farms are total cope compared to nuclear. It's a kike fantasy.

There's literally no reason not to have it unless the local people are too retarded to maintain it or the area has a problem with theft/pointless destruction.

that makes no sense, nothing about using a solar panel is anti-capitalism. All of the best brands are inherently capitalistic due to their success on the market.
