well in relation to your picture, the album specifically is a dying artform because they're just not profitable anymore. because of streaming and the decline of physical media, recording an album doesn't make the money back. so you don't have bands that basically just live in the studio anymore. people only make albums as self-funded passion projects, or to promote tours. the golden age of studio music is over.

if you look at other art forms you'll probably see similar trends. there's no money in it unless you're very lucky or connected. and people gotta eat and pay the bills.
