Absolutely not. He is, like all Gen X/boomers, a proud bootlicking wageslave.
He was absolutely absent from our childhood because he left work at 6am and return only after 8pm. His free time is him watching tv.
We had a comfortable life as white expats living in Singapore and other countries, but being an absent father ruined his children's growth.
The guy put so much effort in working for money (and letting my mom waste it all) that he forgot to actually raise his kids.
He basically live to work, even the few times we visit their home on the holidays he can be found on his laptop answering emails.
We're not even that rich! Shit, they dont even own their house.
He drilled the "work is everything because it makes you money, and money is everything" mentallity so hard in my head, yet with nothing to show for it.
I do the strict minimum at work because I see what "going above and beyond for the company" does to a man.
Also he trusts the government like the good lapdog he is. Despite giving away a good chunk of his hard earned salary to taxes, he doesnt seem to mind how the government just squanders the taxpayer's money.
The guy traded his time for money a bit too eagerly. Let this be a reminder that money is infinite and can be inflated at any time, yet time is ever decreasing and cannot be won back.
