It's crazy to think that the absolute peak of undertaker's run occurred in just 10 years, and in that time Stone Cold came and went, DX reached a peak and then broke apart, Sunny Chyna Sable etc came and went. The sheer change between 1992-2002 was dizzying, it felt like wrestling was advancing decades in mere years and that dozens of super stars came and went. Sprawling storylines with unguessable twists and turns played out, Big Boss eat someone's dog and desecrated The Big Show's father's grave, Vince McMahon was nearly assassinated, Owen Hart died in the ring, Shawn Michaels broke out as his own talent after throwing his old partner through a window, etc etc etc.
Now wrestling is just the same geezers everyone was watching 15+ years doing the exact same shit talking about how they're gonna win the belt in between hugging each other. Anyone watching wrestling past 2010 is a certifiable tasteless retard.

I feel like most of the bigger shifts in wrestling in the past 10 years have happened outside of the wwe
>Lucha Underground produces kino from 2014-2018
>Nu Japan's rise in popularity in 2017
>Jericho leaves wwe to wrestle omega in 2018
>indie guys like the bucks and cody challenges the american wrestling zeitgeist and sells out a 10k arena for an indie show in 2018, considered a big win at the time
>money mark starts aew in 2019 off of the success of said indie show
>DEAN shows up in aew because he's tired of being booked like a goober
>Punk returns to wrestling in aew
>Bryan goes to aew
Over the past 10 years the "biggest things" to happen in wwe are the women's revolution, styles to wwe, roman's 3.5 year title reign, punk & cody coming back to wwe. No new stars have been made.
NXT black and gold was bad for wwe in the long term because it gave awareness to wrestling outside of wwe with the influx of indie darlings putting on heatless bangers. There's no AEW without NXT B&G.

healthy things in wrestling, you shouldn't rely on the same oldfags for 20 years as The Guy.

Not the main reason, bur it's part of it, for sure. It gave extra underdog legitimacy to western wrestlers outside the main roster. Then when Jericho wrestled Omega, and the first All In happened, it boosted it even more.

Happened with music and movies, too. The irony is the media moves faster, but the changes are slower to nonexistent. Everyone was trying to outdo and come up with something new. Competition was fiercer. Blatant copycats with no charisma got exposed, and most importantly, the lack of social media allowed only the best to thrive or the morons to be gatekept out.
It's two edged, though. WWF still beats WCW in the end. And WWE would still have a monopoly no matter what.
