Looking at your mom ask earnestly, you couldn't say no. However, you wanted to play around a bit. "Hmm, I might not be able to make it. I might have a hot date later."

"A date?!" Unfortunately, you didn't expect her to be so excited about hearing you date. "You have a girlfriend?" Her eyes were starting to sparkle. "Oh my, I have to meet her soon. Is she cute? Is she pretty? Is she in the same grade as you?"

She hurts questions at you in a rapid manner. "I was just kidding." Finally, you admit you were just playing around. "There's no way that a girl would fall for me." You remind her what happened to the last girl she set you up with.

"Remember Hina? You know the girl you got me to go on a blind date with?"

Your mom starts to blush. "She was fine... She only broke one arm!" She snaps at you. "Besides, why did you have to scare her anyways?"

"It's not my fault. You gave me this face you know!"

"Ah, whatever. I'm sure you'll find someone to fall in love with that face!" Your mom gives you a thumbs up and an encouraging smile.

"Thanks, I guess." Even though your mom's words sounded encouraging, for some reason they didn't feel like that at all.

After the two of you go back to your respective work, and the room falls silent, you respond back to your mom. "I can help."

Now that it was only the two of you, you had to help each other out after all.

"Great." Your mom gives you a smile. "One of our regular customers asked for you specifically. I'm sure she'll be glad to see you later."

"Another blind date huh?" You will admit you felt a bit nervous. "Well as long as she doesn't get hurt I guess..." As you start to sink into your daily routing, you get into the zone.

The streets getting busier along with the sunlight creeping into your store front, you are reminded that it was almost time for school. "Phew..." Thankfully you were able to box up every chocolate on the desk.

"Are you done, Sousuke?" Your mom asks you.

"Yeah, I'm going to get ready for school." It was perfect timing. Just as you leave to go upstairs to take a shower and brush your teeth, your mom's hired help comes in.

"Good morning." He bows to you and your mother.

"Yo! Shin." You greet him as you pass him on your way upstairs. Seeing the time, you were almost running up the stairs. "Crap... I can't be late again today or else Nishida is going to be pissed..." The image of Nishida's angry face just motivates you to move even faster.

After your shower, you brush your teeth. After you brush your teeth you change into your uniform. Whenever you can you glance at the time on your phone. After you style your hair you were finally ready go to school.

Running down the stairs you hear your mom yell out to you. "Be careful! Don't fall down the stairs!"

"Yes!" Heading out, you turn to your mom and say goodbye. "I'll see you later, mom."

"Take care at school."

Leaving your house, you take one more glance at your phone. A sigh of relief leaves your lips as you knew you could make it just in time. "I just have to hurry."

However, it was almost like god himself didn't want you to get to school on time. At the first crosswalk, you notice an elderly grandmother struggling to cross. You try to ignore her at first. 'I have to get to school.'

But the overwhelming guilt you felt leaving an old woman to cross alone was too much to bear. So, you turn around. "Excuse me." You look down to try and hide your face. "Do you need help?"

The old woman looks up at you. "My, my." She smiles. "What a nice, tall young man you are." Her lips curl into a frail smile. "But I should be okay."

You watch as she struggle to lift up her cane and take even a single step forward. Looking back at the crosswalk signal, it has now turned into a stop signal as well even though the old woman hasn't even made it across 1/8th of the crosswalk. "Ah, let me help you."

Staying with the woman, you help her cross even as the light turn green. Once the two of you make it, you bid her a hasty farewell.

Then you encounter your second challenge.

You take a shortcut through the side streets hoping you could get to school faster. You have picked up your pace considerably after that elderly woman delayed you a bit. However, if you just keep running, you should be able to make it to school and avoid Nishida's ire.

As you run through the side streets however, you hear the distressed voice of a young boy. "Are you sure you are okay, nee-san?"

Looking around the corner, you find the source of the distressed voice. It was a boy looking up at a tree. Following his gaze, you notice what looked like a middle schooler climbing out on rickety looking branch. "Yeah... I"m okay." She responds back to the boy as she reaches her hand out. She had a look of focus on her face. Doing the same to the little boy, you notice a cat at the end of the branch. As the girl keeps crawling forward, the branch starts to sway. As you get closer to the scene, you even start to hear the branch cracking and groaning. "Just a little more... I can get Martin soon." The girl on the branch groans as she tries her best to extend her arm towards the smug looking cat the end of the tree branch.

Just as she was finally about to reach it however, the cat stops licking it's paws. It looks towards the girl. "That's it, Martin! Just stay there okay?" She sounded excited.

However the cat betrays her as it stands on all fours. The little boy, the middle school girl, and yourself then watch as the cat jumps off the tree as if it was nothing. "Martin!" The little boy recovers first as he chases after the cat.

Then, you snap yourself out of your daze as well. You smile towards the girl on the tree branch. "I'm sure the cat appreciates the effort." You give her a thumbs up and a smile.

"T-Thanks." She says meekly. Her face then turns completely red as she makes a confession. "Umm... I think I"m stuck now." She lets out an embarrassed smile. "D-Do you think you can help me out?"

You weren't going to leave a girl on a tree like that. However, you also wasn't sure how you could help. "Hmm..." Looking around you try to see what you could use to get her down.

[ ] Find help. You were confident in your strength, but you didn't want to risk it.

We already late. Trying to find help will make is "extremely late, like an Extremely Evil Delinquent That People Would Want To Avoid(even more)".

And, if our first interaction will be us catching her - she might even end up not fearing and/or hating us!(Ha-ha, like that would ever happen!)

You bend your knee slightly. You open up your arms. You brace yourself. Then you look up. "Alright... Jump down. I'll catch you."

"Eh?!" The tiny girl up in the tree gasps at your plan. "Are you sure?"

"Mhmm?" Your lips curl into a confident smile. "Trust me. Plus you don't need to fall too much." Your gaze bounce between her and yourself. "I'm pretty tall myself so it should be fine. Trust me, I won't let you fall."

Your overwhelming confidence spills onto her. Before long, the doubt in her eyes melt. "Then... Here I go." The girl takes a deep breath. The branch trembles as the girl holds onto it tightly. "Kya!" Finally, she yells out a battlecry as she jumps off the branch and into your arms.

She was surprisingly much lighter than even you anticipated. "Are you alright?" You ask the girl you were carrying like a princess. Her eyes were still closed when she answers.

"I think so." Her voice was gentle. Looking at her up close, she really did have a tiny frame. It was no wonder she was as light as a feather. When she opens her eyes, she had a child like innocence to her as her big round eyes look at you. Her school uniform hung loose on her small body. Her skirt reaches down way below her knee. Her black, fluffy hair that reaches down to her waist smelled like the first blooming flower of spring. "Umm... Sorry, but can you let me down?"

Snapping back to reality, you let out a nervous laugh. "Sorry, I didn't mean to stare." Gently, you put her down on the ground.

She had an air of elegance about her as she bows and gives you her gratitude. "Thanks for saving me." She kept averting her gaze from locking with yours. She kept her head down, no doubt to hide the fact that she was blushing. "A-Anyways, I have to go. I'm going to be late for school." Still, she avoids looking into your eyes as she turns around and walks away in a hurry.

"Wait! Watch out-" Before you could finish your warning, the girl rans into a utility pole in her rush.

"Au~" She lets out a whimper as she stumbles backwards. Turning over to you, she bows a couple of times to apologize. "Sorry." After her apology she once again hurriedly runs away from you.

"What a weird girl..." Before you realize it, you found yourself smiling at the clumsy girl. Although a girl running away from you was a familiar sight, that felt different. "She couldn't be embarrassed being held by me is she?"

You didn't think much of it. "Whatever..." Shrugging your shoulder, you knew that you probably won't ever see that girl again, but you were immediately proven wrong as after you go around the corner, you see her against a wall. Clutching her chest.

"C-Calm down Rina... Just calm down." Her face was completely red as she talks to herself. "Just try and forget how cool he was catching you." You watch quietly as the girl kept complimenting you. "He is so cool and strong... I wonder if Sousu-" Before she could finish her sentence, she finally notices you. Her eyes widen with surprise. Grabbing the sides of her hair, she uses it to hide half her face. "How long have you been there? How much did you hear?!" She snaps at you. You didn't know whether she wanted the real answer or an answer that would put her at ease.

As calmly as you could, you answer her. "Oh, I..."

"I just got here." You give the girl a smile. "I didn't hear anything weird or anything."

The girl relaxes, believing your words with one hundred percent of her being. "OK, good..." She sighs out.

"Hmm... Sorry if I'm forgotten, but have we met before?"

The girl, still trying to avoid eye contact, answers. "Umm.. Your family. They own a sweets shop right?"

Finally it clicks. "Ah, a regular at my mom's shop." Unfortunately, you still couldn't remember ever meeting her directly.

"Yeah, I've seen you work the cash register from time to time." This time it was you who breathe a sigh of relief.

"Thank goodness... I was wondering how you knew my name." Letting out a laugh, you let it slip out. "For a second there I thought you were some kind of spirit or youkai."

"Your name?" The girl's face slowly starts to turn red as she realizes what your words meant. "I-I see... Well look at the time, I need to go back to school." Once again the girl hurriedly runs away. Thankfully, this time there was nothing she could run into. Before you could stop her to ask for her name, she was gone.

"Truly a weird girl." Was the only thing you could think of. She was correct though. You were about to be late. Following her lead, you run to school as well. Fortunately, you make it just in time.

By the time you arrive Nishida was already at the school gates ready to close it herself. Before she could however you jump past her and into the school grounds. "Made it in time!"

As you land on the school grounds you hear her click her tongue. "I can't believe you actually made it in time." Looking towards her, you see a familiar face looking back. Her dyed, blonde hair, following in the wind. Her school uniform's shirt that had it's first few buttons unbuttoned. Her multiple piercings and her skirt that was folded up to reveal a bit more of her thighs. She looked more like your typical gyaru than the student council president, but your school was a bit of a special case. "Well, it's great that you made it on time though, new guy." Her lips, that obviously had lip gloss reaches from ear to ear.

"New guy still huh?" You couldn't believe she was still calling you new guy. "You know I've been at this school for at least a year right?"

Then, she runs up to you. Looking up, she gives you a pat on the back. "It's fine! You are still the new guy to me! After all I took you under my wing to teach you how to make friends remember?" Her head only came up to your chin. It wasn't that Nishida was short, but it was more like you were taller than average. "Aren't you glad that you have such a cute and trendy girl like me teaching you how to make friends?" Nishida's confidence was unwavering as always.
