[THE SANDBOX GET]

Welcome to the roll section. We are using standard two-die (2d6) mechanics here.

To break down the math for you: hitting a standard challenge roll gives you an 80% chance of basic outcomes, while hitting a DUBS roll sits at a crisp 20% chance. To put that in perspective for everyday life, you have an 80% chance that your car's turn signal is telling the absolute truth, and a 20% chance that the driver ahead of you has been cruising with his left blinker flashing since 2019.

We use these grammar tools in natural conversation every day, but executing them on purpose to create a deliberate narrative effect is how we sharpen our writing skills.

Roll your dice and follow your GETS assignment below:

ROLLS:
2: - [SNAKE EYES] Jackpot! Pure character freedom. Write anything you want, OR drop a sudden flashback memory to reveal something about your character's past.
3: - Gerund phrases. As the author, use a gerund phrase (an "-ing" phrase acting as a noun, e.g., "Running late wasn't an option").
4: - Verb phrases. As the author, use a verb phrase (e.g., "had been waiting").
5: - Noun phrases. As the author, use a noun phrase (e.g., "The old wooden desk").
6: - Compound adjectives. As the author, use a compound adjective (e.g., "blood-red").
7: - Compound verbs. As the author, use a compound verb (e.g., "kick-started").
8: - Compound nouns. As the author, use a compound noun (e.g., "headlight").
9: - [PERSPECTIVE CAMERA — EYE LEVEL] Describe the scene exactly from the character's eye line.
10: - [PERSPECTIVE CAMERA — BIRD'S EYE] Describe the layout from directly overhead looking down.
11: - [PERSPECTIVE CAMERA — WORM'S EYE] Describe the scene looking straight up from the ground floor.
12: - [BOXCARS / MIDNIGHT] Grand Prize! Flawless critical success. Describe your character achieving a massive win, OR trigger an epic flashback memory that changes the context of the current situation.

DUBS:
- Trigger any of the above rules AND call the OP a newfag.
